This was EXCELLENT!

No, it wasn't just excellent, it is astonishing. I loved everything about it, but especially the style of the storytelling. I truly felt as though I was reading ACD! Amazing storyline, utterly enchanting and so bloody exciting! It took most of a day (with lots of interruptions) but this was time very well spent.

Outstanding!

You and loupgarou1750 are conspiring to deprive me of sleep! One of the things I appreciate most about superior fanfic like yours is that the writing style, plot development, dialogue, and characterization all far exceed JKR's own impressive abilities. You've also brought special charm and warmth to Doyle's famous duo, emphasizing their clear and absolute devotion to each other. Severus' note at the end (and how appropriate that his should be the last word) cracked me up. Thank you!

What a piece of work this is!! You must love the Holmes 'verse so much to be able to replicate it in this way! BRAVO! Perfect verbiage and use of antique language. *boggles*
Every character, every location, every scene so well done, and there were several deep laughs for me, especially Snape surrendering to his nicky-fit and smoking in front of the students, and his string of excuses afterward (caffeine, nicotine and alcohol, indeed!). Seeing the feelings of the characters through Watson's eyes added such a layer of naughtiness to it all - the 'inverts' that they were. Guh! It was perfect that Watson expressed proper English feelings of horror to have been privy to such private conversations, and stepped us back into voyeurism with him. What a way to ramp up the prurient factor about otherwise pure, deep loving feelings. Wow.
I loved how you transmuted Moriarty into Mortdelavie, in perfect keeping with classic HP villany, lol. Moriarty's method of dispatch likewise reflective of Voldemort's simple, human death.
This was far more complex than any Holmes mystery, and I loved it all.
End of squeefest (for now).
PS - I would eagerly devour the sequel you suggested. I hope you are inspired to write it. Or Watson is, that is.

Oh, how I wish I could give this fic marks higher than 9's. You have just blown me away with this amazingly inventive crossover. I don't even know where to begin with the things I loved about this story.

Your world building was absolutely impeccable. I really lost myself in Victorian London, between the physical descriptions of hansom cabs and drays, gas-lights and carpet-bags, it truly transported me back in time. Watson's narration was brilliant, again reinforcing the sense of time through the choice of language used. Beyond that, the characterizations of Watson, Holmes, and our three modern day wizards was completely spot on for me. Draco's initial sneering disregard for everything and everyone Muggle felt completely right, yet we see the shift of perception begun in Deathly Hallows continue here. Harry displays competent yet understated perception of crucial elements, yet cluelessness of certain subtleties(the obscure password for the headquarters of the resistance), while continuing to show that Gryffindor impulsive valor coupled with mastery of defensive magic. Snape's incisive, skillful and deliberate actions and snarling defense mechanisms were all so fitting. As Harry has realized, he is a formidable wizard who can be relied on to do what is needed. Watson's demeanor and voice as well as Holmes' enigmatic and brilliant deductions also felt completely true to character, and were so reminiscent of Doyle's work.

The plot was intriguing and involved, and kept me glued to the screen. I loved the way that you pulled in ancestors, with the Prewetts showing the courage and sense of family noted in their descendants, as well as the thread of arrogant and cruel aristocrat connecting Lucius back to Tarquinius. Encantadora was a nice little twist, becoming the sister for whom they were searching, and Mrs. Calloway did seem a fitting predecessor to Bellatrix. Seeing the wizarding world and the relationships between Harry, Severus and Draco through the filter of Watson's world view and sensibilities was so fascinating and engaging.

The pacing was perfect, as you built both the elements of the search for the watch and the need to defeat Moriarty/Mortdelavie(brilliant!) at the same time as you progressed the relationships between the five characters. It was wonderful to see the masterful minds of Snape and Holmes working in tandem, and I loved the way that Watson gradually realized how much he had underestimated Harry. The "showdown" at Stonehenge was tense and suspenseful, and I was delighted to see Draco's Slytherin nature move past his anti-Muggle biases to use a revolver to defeat Moriarty. The way that you got Snape to finally reveal his feelings for Harry was perfect, as was Holmes' facilitation of that event.

I know there are many other elements of the story I'm neglecting to include here, as there were so many details that added to the compelling richness of this tale. Fantastic work - thanks so much for sharing it with us all.

What a well-done crossover - you've done justice to both 'verses! And I love the use of Watson's POV and the voice of the Sherlock Holmes books.

I bloody loved it! *g*
You have a wonderful Watson voice, and I was awed by the way you managed to depict the Snarry seen from his POV! And the rest of it: so imaginative!

Should however come with a warning: you will be sad when you've finished it! :D

This was simply perfect (I even didn't miss the smut:)))
The characters were spot on, the plot captivating, there's just one thing missing: The Return of the Mended Wand. Can we hope? *puppy eyes*

I completely and utterly adored this. I have been wanting to read it ever since [info]whitecotton recced it, but I had to set sometime aside to read it and I managed that today on a horribly cold and wet Sunday afternoon.

I loved the crossover and how well you handled it, making the interaction between the two 'verses totally seemless. I loved the way that you portrayed all three of our heroes, including Draco. Not to mention, Holmes and Watson who were pitch perfect. I loved the time-travel aspect, I like time-travel fics as a genre, but this one as quite simply devine and I loved that you wrote it with the voice of John Watson as narrator, perfection itself, from the tone to the language use.

There are so many aspects of the story that I adored, including the original characters and the plot twists and I'd be here all night if I quoted them all. This is such a clever fic, yet it is also beautifully written and immensely readable

Every so often there is a story which goes right to the top of one's favourites list. This is such a fic in my opinion and I know I will come back to it again and again.

absolutely and utterly fantastic.

Loved it.

*hugs*

I think I totally forgot to comment! I recced, but then I went to bed! Bad Dacro!

Anyhoo, I loved this fic! You either put in hours of research, or are already a Holmes fan (or both!)
I loved the language you used and the masterful way you pulled us all into this fascinating world while still showing us its flaws and dangers.

The POV was wonderful, as were all your descriptions and observations as Watson.

Well done, my teammate!

Crossovers often feel clunky and awkward, but your Snape and Harry (yes, and Draco too) interact perfectly with Holmes, Watson and their world. Excellent job on Watson's voice, and the two additions were a lovely touch.
I didn't even miss the pr0n - much ;)

I love the plot! It's great! There is no plot loophole. You really made it work!! I'm truly impressed.

Fabulous work!

Well I'd surely give up pr0n every day for a story such well written as this is. The plot is great, unpredictable in every twist it takes. You managed the best crossover of the games, created believable original characters and managed masterfully J.K.'s. Also, for once in my life I guessed the same as Holmes; so I shall thank you for making me feel oh-so-smart.

The one thing that's nagging me is: what's the deal with french names? LOL!

I adored this story. You really took that idea we discussed so early on and turned it into something I'll want to read again and again. Your Watson voice is wonderful. The way that you brought Moriarty and the other characters of the Holmes 'verse and the Potter 'verse together was impeccable.

And the mystery and their chasing of the Hallow was just a brilliant and fun ride.

You had me at the summary, and my sense of Utter Fangirl Squee only increased as I read.

I've been a Holmes enthusiast since I was a kid, (and wrote a small quasi-crossover myself several years ago), so I started with hope, which was richly rewarded.

Your grasp of Conan-Doyle's style is exact, and it was a pure delight to see the two worlds so deftly brought together. Then to have that delight sustained over the course of a satisfyingly long and intricate plot, was a rare treat indeed.

This is the sort of joy that's what fandom is all about. Thank you so much!

Wow, this was brilliant! I loved everything about it. Absolutely captivating plot, excellent characterisations. I've somehow never read Arthur Conan Doyle but I have a feeling you got Dr. Watson's voice spot on! I felt transported to that time period myself.

I can't even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed seeing Snape, Harry and Draco (I so loved that you had Draco there, too!) meeting Holmes and Watson, and all five of them interacting with each other. And things like each party's reactions to the Muggle and wizarding world respectively, or the differences between the two time periods. I loved that kind of details. And I so loved how you wrote everyone! Especially Harry, Snape and Draco, since I'm obviously way more familiar with them - Snape was so hot, acting like the powerful wizard he is. *g* All your original characters were wonderful, too.

Getting back to the plot - the fourth Hallow was a brilliant idea and I loved how you had things like the past Malfoys that tied so well with the HP canon of the present time period.

I found myself wishing Holmes had a more major role, but I suppose you couldn't have done that without taking the focus from our three wizards. Which makes me think I would gladly read another 56k and another and another and another from each of the other four characters' POV if they existed! No, no, I'm not implying you should write them, god, no! It's just a way of saying how much I loved this story. :)

Anyway! This was a brilliant, brilliant crossover. FANTASTIC story.

I finished. Yay. And what a time. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I loved every sentence. Seeing the boys from Watson's POV was interesting and different. I've never read any of the series, but I have a feeling I won't enjoy them any more than I've enjoyed your story. I really wanted it to go on and on. Heh. I would've loved to have seen the 're-visit.'

Thank you for an excellent story.

What a wonderful story! I love Holmes from 13 years old, and also I am a big snarry shipper. This is the best cross-over ff I have ever read!
I am just wondering that can I translate your fanfiction into Chinese so that much more Chinese snarry shippers can share your perfect story? I will post it in a Chinese snarry forum, and promise that put your name, original link and your permission at the beginning. What is more, if you want, I can also translate some reviews for you. I think it would be interisting for you to read ppl's reviews from different country.

Cheers

It's BRILLIANT! You're a genius. I can't believe how flawless this story is. All the chaps are so mindblowingly in character, and the plot makes such sense, and the action is ever exciting, and Watson's narrative reads absolutely genuine, and, and! I'm so happy to have stumbled upon this. Your team won, right? No wonder.
