Don't worry about the lack of pr0n, really, this is perfectly drool-worthy as it is! What a marvelous story. Fast, exciting, plotty, beautifully written, full of great characters, and deliciously long. Brava! *claps until hands fall off*

But if you do feel bad about not including pr0n, please do consider writing that next adventure ;) There were a hundred things in this one that I loved, but Draco blowing Moriarty's brains out is definitely on top. Draco was fabulous all the way through. Actually, I don't think I've ever read a Snarry that wasn't improved by some strong Draco presence. Hmmm...

Well, WOW, Ging! Took me all night to read it--I couldn't stop!

How great was it that this all started with Harry and Draco being themselves, fighting over Snape's body and ALAKAZAAM! Poor Snape. First, your narrative description was so well done; the reader was transported to this world with them, and could so easily sense and see everything along with the characters. When Harry and Draco sicked up from the chlorofom, my stomach actually gave a few sympathetic lurches.

My favorite part of this was your narrator. Just like [info]perfica and [info]dacro, you managed to affect a narrative style that was true to the character and the times in which he lived. A few paragraphs into the London setting, I didn't even notice the style anymore, as it just fit so perfectly. I liked his honest perceptions, seeing the three of them through his eyes, and admired his integrity when he had to examine the hard questions of the morés of his time, challenged as he was by Snape's affection for Harry. Your original characters rang true, from the street urchins to Mrs. Calloway and Prewett, and Mortdelavie having his foot in both the Muggle and wizarding worlds was a genius twist, a reasonable set-up for why there's such separation between them in our time.

I really enjoyed the breaking down of that wall between Snape and Harry, all chronicled by that noble and skilled observed, Watson. It was clear that Snape and Holmes respected each other, and that seemed as it should be; two great intellects such as theirs would jump the wizarding/Muggle barrier, I think. There were so many intricacies to you plot, so many times when I had to sit back and admire your genius: Encantadora, the mended wand, the fourth Hallow's story, the house of inverts, Holmes in disguise, working in Stonehenge. I could go on and on. Draco and Harry's gradual but hesitant friendship made perfect sense; nothing like a common enemy to make them reexamine each other. And Snape himself was so IC and verbally devastating, while Holmes and Watson seemed to step right out of Doyle's pages.

I love both of these worlds so much, so I can't tell you how satisfying it was to read such a well-done crossover, where the reader was never overwhelmed by explanatory exposition, but immediately drawn into another fascinating adventure! You did an amazing job of it, Ging, and it was well worth the wait! Single malts all around! *celebrates with you*

Fantastic! The slash here was just right, though I would have liked Watson and Holmes to kiss, too. It can be hard to pace these crossover stories just right, because you have to explain all the details of how the crossover works, but you were note-perfect on the pacing, maintaining just the right dramatic tension.

This is one of the best things that I have read in the HP fandom in many a month. I have lurked in this fandom for several years and virtually never comment, although I have been reading your stuff for some time, and settled in to enjoy this as soon as I saw your name. But I wasn't expecting anything of this quality, the story is fascinating, the characters delightful, the tone of the narrator very good. And you handle a large cast of characters with ease and skill, something that is missing in the vast majority of fan stories. An instant classic!

I cannot believe how well-written this was, and what a seemless crossover. You really captured both worlds so well, and the tone was spot on. I adored all your characters - your Severus in particular - so canon, so fierce and petty and proud. The slow, grudging romance between him and Harry had me going mad with UST. Oh, but it was so worth it. Your plot was just amazing - so complex and brilliant. I am absolutely astounded; this is not only a classic Snarry read, it is a classic work of literature.

You are a devestating writer.

(If you're writing an out-take, however, I can only hope the title is "Numerous Mad Sex Scenes." Just so I can work out my frustration. No pressure...)

It's been a while since I read any Sherlock Holmes, but from what I remember, you've got the tone just right :) This was a wonderful, sweeping story and even though there wasn't any sex, you could telln it was a romance too. Wonderful!

Utter, utter love! Oh, my, Ginger, what a great story! I actually think that pr0n would have cheapened it in some way, especially as told from Watson's POV! *snort*

I've never read Holmes, but the details and the language used in narration and speech - just wonderful. Things like the toasting forks for food, and warming pans for blankets and at least a thousand other things. I was transported back in time(no pun intended) and I found it utterly believeable, this crossover fic, the universe and the interactions, the danger, the methods used to get things done, really, I'm stunned and in awe of this fic and your writing.

The epilogues were funny and such a lovely way to tie things together. I really can't say enough about your story, but I was utterly enraptured by it!

*happy, satisfied, contented sigh*

I left a comment for I Got Tired Waiting's entry indicating that she had set the standard of excellence for this year's games. I never expected that very high bar to be set even higher (with all due respect to IGTW and the other talented authors). This is one of the very best Harry Potter fanfictions and the very best HP crossover I have ever read. Excellent, just excellent. Your intention to detail, each character's voice, the plot, the dialogue's cadence ... my reaction upon finishing the story -- Wow! I regret I can't score higher than 9s.

Oh, brava! Absolutely brilliant!

I adore the Holmes' stories and have read and reread them over the years. You've done a great job of capturing their tone and style. And you've done a great job adding in the Potter characters.

Moriarty makes perfect sense as a wizard. Having him as the villain for Holmes and Snape to outwit was wonderful. I did love how everyone underestimated Harry. And how his wand had been super-charged.

Taking them out of their time allowed Harry, Draco, and Severus to come to terms with one another and learn to get along. Forced into politeness by Watson and Holmes!

Now I want 'The Return of the Mended Wand.' The three Wizards having new adventures with Sherlock Holmes makes me giddy!

Oh, this was so delightful! As an HP and a Holmes fan both, I absolutely wallowed in the way you brought two of my favorite flavors together. Watson's voice is impeccable, and I thought you did a bang-up job using his phlegmatic personality to make the concept of magic seem plausible in a 19th-century setting. It was also very sly of you to put the onus of moral huffery and adjustment on the poor doctor, re: the love that dare not speak its name. The fact that Holmes took it very much in stride, added to his familiarity with the male brothel, gave me a smirky moment to indulge my own private interpretation of the great detective's bent.

The plot and the pacing of this are marvelous, not an instant's excess or confusion. The scenes in London are wonderfully vivid, as are all the personalities involved. Your OCs blend in and genuinely enhance the story, and I enjoyed the glimpses into Prewett and Malfoy ancestry. Magic in the Victorian era is an irresistible concept, and I loved the way you handled the overlapping influences of time travel and cause-and-effect. So much invention here, so much to dazzle and fit together like well-chosen puzzle pieces.

The relationships among the five men are a constant source of entertainment, and my hat's off to you for juggling so many characters at once and getting them right. After Snape's revived and out of danger, the Snarry component provides the necessary emotional underpinning to the action, and you're very deft at weaving in the slow, smoldering build of reciprocal interest as a parallel to the brisk surface of a caper fic. I have a fondness for outsider POVs that bring their own unique take to the interactions between Snape and Potter, and Watson's decency, befuddlement, admiration, unease, and general alertness make him an excellent foil. I'm also glad that you gave us only as much romance as the doctor could bear, or it might have strained narrative (dis)belief. And I like that you make Harry and Draco behave in a more grown up and intelligent fashion than is their wont in canon; it's always refreshing when Harry, in particular, grows a brain.

Making Moriarty a half-blood wizard was a neat trick, and I adored how, over the course of the fic, you emphasize what a powerful wizard Snape is. We all expect it of Harry, but there's something particularly arresting when Snape's allowed to be magically bad-ass (especially in Harry's defense). Like [info]slashpine, I love to see him break out his duelling skills and demonstrate how formidable he can be without it always revolving around potions. In a related vein, the quiet similarities between Snape and Holmes are beautifully handled, touched on without being irritating.

All of this, together with your wit and timing and a complex plot that never escapes your control, makes this a feast and a fic to be savored. Brava!

Wow, that was fabulous. It took me two days to read it! This may not be shocking, until you realize I read DH in 6 hours. ;) This was far more satisfying. *g*
The detail was superb, your choice of narrator, fabulous, your Draco, Severus and Harry voices were perfect.
I loves all your OC's (the Prewetts, FTW!), Moritarty, the fascinating look at the Malfoy ancestry, and just the little details that made London come alive.
Also? Badass Snape was awesome! When he came out, wand blazing, I think I swooned. *g*
This was a lot to juggle, I imagine. *admires*
Great job! This is definitely a keeper. :)

Oh wow - I just finished listening to this today! I can't say enough good things about it; everyone already pretty much summed it up. Definitely in the top five favorites of the game.

I have to say - you are just so clever and imaginative! I could never, ever think up something as great as this plot, and then if I did, I could certainly never put it to words the way you have. I am SO GLAD you are on my team and not the other one because you are going to get us lots and lots of points.

Wow--Awesome job! I love Sherlock Holmes, and this was such a perfect crossover! I'm sure Holmes would be fascinated by magic, and the idea that Moriarty is magical is just brilliant. I loved the Holmes/Snape interactions. Also, the unstated attraction, and Harry's bumping up against the apparent wall of Severus's indifference, little realizing the true reason for the rebuffs.

I also really like Draco's tagging along--he's such a great foil, troublemaker and potential friend for Harry--really great evolution of their relationship.

And the narrative Watson voice was just perfect--many overhearings to great purpose.

Such a great job--one of the very best stories.

WOW.

I am a Sherlock Holmes nut, and this story was just absolutely incredible. The plot was great, the mystery was brilliant, I loved your Draco! Actually, all of the characterizations were lovely. The epilogue was very, very perfect. OMG I love this so much I don't even know where to begin! The two words fit together so beautifully! Moriarty as a Muggleborn--fantastic. And everyone so completely in character. Having it told from Watson's POV was sheer genius, allowing us see our familiar HP characters without any sort of prejudice, with the added bonus of his delightful observations of the outrageous situations he found himself in with these people. And Snape! OMG he was so incredibly impressive, and not just to Watson's uninitiated eyes.

The pacing and the plot and the mystery -- so well done and so clever! I'm not sure I'm doing this justice here, but I feel a little like you wrote this just for me, it was so perfect. And it's not even my birthday! You can sure I'll be reading this one over and over again.

Just absolutely wonderfully done! *sighs in satisfaction*

Oh, how absolutely wonderful this story was! Excellent story-telling, and honestly, an explicit love scene just wouldn't have fit, so it's not missed. There's so much to adore here I don't know where to begin. The writing is flawless, letting the reader sink right into the narrative. (That's a more profound compliment than you might think -- some of the things I've been reading lately... *shudders*)

Your plot is a superb synthesis of Holmes twists and Potter adventure. I think I most particularly admire the way you evoke the wonder and magnificence of what the wizarding world can be, by letting us see it through Watson's eyes, similar to Harry's sense of wonder in the first books of the series.

Thank you for writing this and sharing it!

I love this story beyond my ability to express! Your characterization of Watson and of nineteenth-century England is note perfect. I was wrapped up in the depth of portrayal of both the wizarding and the Muggle worlds, with skilled, intelligent, and dangerous characters in each. The plot was engaging at every point. I adored Watson's outsider POV on the professor and two students, and his journey from astonishment to acceptance of the wonders of the wizarding world. Draco maturing, Harry growing into his power, and Snape as deadly competent are my favorite takes on the characters. And Holmes's solution to the mystery is so absolutely perfectly Holmesian. A masterpiece!

"No," Potter breathed, "I don't expect you to do anything except what you've always done: spit vitriol into my face and protect me with your life."

Probably the best description of Snape and Harry ever written. ♥
