What a piece of work this is!! You must love the Holmes 'verse so much to be able to replicate it in this way! BRAVO! Perfect verbiage and use of antique language. *boggles* Every character, every location, every scene so well done, and there were several deep laughs for me, especially Snape surrendering to his nicky-fit and smoking in front of the students, and his string of excuses afterward (caffeine, nicotine and alcohol, indeed!). Seeing the feelings of the characters through Watson's eyes added such a layer of naughtiness to it all - the 'inverts' that they were. Guh! It was perfect that Watson expressed proper English feelings of horror to have been privy to such private conversations, and stepped us back into voyeurism with him. What a way to ramp up the prurient factor about otherwise pure, deep loving feelings. Wow. I loved how you transmuted Moriarty into Mortdelavie, in perfect keeping with classic HP villany, lol. Moriarty's method of dispatch likewise reflective of Voldemort's simple, human death. This was far more complex than any Holmes mystery, and I loved it all. End of squeefest (for now). PS - I would eagerly devour the sequel you suggested. I hope you are inspired to write it. Or Watson is, that is.
