I just saw this on pennswood's journal:

The Morning After

A stunningly beautiful and tender SS/HG picture.

One month to go...

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Just a reminder: there's one month left for your Snapefest entries. No pressure. ;)

If you haven't heard/can't find/lost contact with your assigned partner, or want to drop out (no problem with that as long as you tell me) - drop me a line at sylvanawood [[[[AT]]]] googlemail.com

Of course you can also drop me a line to tell me that everything goes well - that'd make me happy, but you don't have to. ;)

And another reminder, should it apply: pinch hitters don't need to meet the end-of-August deadline. They have time to post until the end of the year.

This is a lovely fic in the Potterplace prompt challenge. Snape's life as told by his bed. Heart-wrenching in places with a hint of a threesome if you squint.

Snape's Bed by anon

I learned something about LJ cuts...

...and it could be useful for you, too. Duh if it is old news, but for me it was a problem until now.

Did you notice, when you looked from LJ at our snapedom feed posts, that the lj cuts didn't work? I apologize for spamming you with all these banners yesterday!

More under the cut. ;)

Author: mouse
Title: The Seer
Pairing: None
Rating: C - Conservative: No offensive material.
Summary: Who is this J. K. Rowling, and how does she know so much about the Order of the Phoenix? When Dumbledore found out that the Muggle author was going to be speaking at a conference in Salem, it gave him and Snape (with Harry, Ron and Hermione along as "decoy minors" - after all the Harry Potter books are supposed to be a series for young adults) the perfect opportunity to meet and interrogate the woman. Unfortunately for Snape, things have gone awry. Harry and Dumbledore are missing, and Salem is crawling with Death Eaters. Apparently Voldemort has become curious about this Rowling woman as well...

This is a positively delightful story - Severus Snape is real - and he's in the Muggle World! The story starts with Severus being held in custody of the muggle police, stripped of his wand and being interrogated quite mercilessly by a very astute policeman. Along the way, he samples McDonald's (courtesy of Hermione) , crashes the Harry Potter conference and meets up with a very cool and feisty JKR (yes, really!). If Severus in full spy mode is your cup of tea, you'll be satisfied with the plot of the story as it features his interactions with the DEs who're after JKR as well as an American terror organization who tries to get Severus to ally with them to establish a new world order.

The author pens an intriguing, fast-paced story weaved in with strategic streaks of action and dollops of humor. Severus is wonderfully in character here, and very human in his grief and exhaustion. His dialogue is simply brilliant - look out for his interactions with the -again, I emphasize - very cool JKR. Cleverly wielded from start to finish, this story is an absolute treasure and deserves to be read, and re-read over and over again.

What if Snape had been a girl? (Snapecast Episode 28)

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Snapecast just released an awesome live-from-Portus episode--go check it out if you haven't already! In the Owlpost segment, where they answer listener mail, someone asked how Snape would have been different if he had been a girl. (The obvious answer by the Snapecast crew: there would have been more than one gay character in the books!) The idea sounds utterly cracky, and I laughed out loud when I heard it, but the question actually brought up some interesting discussion about whether the Marauders might have bullied him more or less if he had been female.
