Who: Tony Stark and OPEN TO EVERYONE
What: A day at the races
When: Saturday afternoon
Where: The World's Fair
Warnings: None
OOC: See here and feel free to post separate threads!

Living within the bubble of his social circle meant that Tony didn't meet many new people on a daily basis. He tended to know the names or faces of each person he interacted with from day to day, and if they were new in his life then more often than not they were women. Women entered and left his life through the revolving door at the entrance to Stark Industries. Normal people, on the other hand, they were hard to come by. He didn't lack for company --Misty and Ianto certainly kept his life interesting-- but they were only two of what he was slowly realising were many people stranded in New York, outside of their own times and locales. While giving to charities was certainly a plus and he would never turn down the opportunity to drive a car extremely fast, the real purpose of the race, in Tony's mind, was to mingle. He wanted to know what was going on in his city.

He didn't blend into crowds particularly well, what with his distinctive facial hair and blue, Stark Industries racing jumpsuit, but this was still more new people than he'd been around in ages. The jumpsuit was quick to fall down at his waist once Tony had jumped off stage after saying the necessary few words about the importance of philanthropy, human responsibility and giving the winners their checks. He slid the sleeves down and tied them haphazardly around his waist before wiping sweat from his brow with the back of his hand. There was a change of clothes waiting for him somewhere, but after fifty laps of the track he wasn't so eager to be confined again too quickly. His thin undershirt was good enough for the moment, even with the arc reactor glowing visibly beneath the surface. It was a conversation starter... of a sort.

The main pavilion was bustling when he finally made it in that direction. Unnoticed at first, that was spoiled when a pretty, female reporter approached him and asked yet again if Stark Industries had anything to do with the new building complex that had gone up in Midtown. Tony wasn't sure in just how many languages he could tell these people, "I had nothing to do with it." Just as curious as the next person, the only reason he wasn't there examining the building himself was his prior obligation and plan to the race that afternoon. He could have slipped away then to see it, but not only would Misty have his neck, it would have defeated the purpose of being there at all. Tony continued his walk, a leisurely pace set towards the Globe and fountain at the center of the fair.

Once he had been there a while...Terry had a slight frown while he considered Allison's question. Ideally, he would connect with the elusive Bruce Wayne and go from there. But he wasn't sure that was going to work out, and now that a mysterious building had popped up in the city, his attention had been diverted. But his plan? Getting himself and Max home.

He certainly would rather get paid to be a "personal assistant" than work as a janitor. He realized he had it pretty easy, before. At least as easy as things could get for Batman.

"I don't know yet," he replied. "I'm working on a plan."

To the invitation to join her for a drink, Terry gave a slight nod. "Sure," he replied. It couldn't hurt. Besides, maybe Dana would understand that sometimes being stuck in the 1960s meant getting a drink with other women...yeah, he knew better. He'd be in for it if he ever made it back...and if he ever managed to explain to where he had disappeared.

"Plans are good, I suppose. I just don't have any of my own right now."
.
Cameron pointed, "There is a refreshment stand not far around the corner. I'm learning to enjoy pink lemonade with the hot weather. The heat doesn't bother me but I like the taste."

"What did you think of my racing?" Men were supposed to enjoy talking about cars. Maybe that would help Terry open up.

Lemonade was harmless, wasn't it? Terry thought so, at least, and hoped Dana would share his sentiments when we returned. He began walking in the direction of the stand.

"Your racing was good. I was impressed." More than anything, though, he had been impressed with the old, very outdated (to him) cars. He wasn't much of a car person, but a race like that was not one he would have been able to see in future Gotham. Racing was a little different and a lot more high-tech in the future.

"I seem to have a way with machines," Cameron replied. "But my poor little Healey doesn't have enough engine to keep up with the other cars on the straights. I'm thinking of having my mechanic add a supercharger for more horsepower."

She offered her arm to Terry for the short walk - mainly to see if he would respond any better than Kurt had. The Allison part of her was sending her neural network unfamiliar signals, no doubt a part of the whole male/female human thing. She once had feelings for John Connor, but she didn't know how much of that was programming or... what. This was something new to her.

"I dance with the Civic Ballet, and sometimes drive fast, and have been known to take long walks at night. What do you do when you aren't working at Wayne Enterprises?"
