The Sadie Hawkins Dance was never intended to be overly formal, and the decorations in the gym reflected that. There were some streamers and balloons -- all in the school colors -- and the DJ had his booth set up, but the general vibe was more casual than Homecoming was or prom would eventually be. There was a table set up along one wall with sweet snacks and waters and a large punch bowl surrounded by plastic cups. Despite the humble decor, the music was upbeat and the atmosphere was festive, the gym ready to host a group of teenagers ready to dance and have fun ... and the chaperones who were present and ready to make sure the fun didn’t get out of hand.
At least that was the idea. After 7pm however, those attendees who drank the punch started having a whole different, much more intense kind of fun ...
