Captain America Theater Of War: Ghosts Of My Country
Greetings True Believers! I picked up this Captain America one-shot today and my LCS and it's really good. The title refers to a poem that John Adams writes in 1776 during a certain congress...

The imagery is what gets me. It shows Steve Rogers as he should be. Protecting, inspiring and comfort to American soldiers and how his spirit is present with us.

It's very good and I suggest it to Cap fans. Spoilers and enjoy!

Norman Osborn's Childhood

I figured with Norman's current status as Official Bastard of the Marvel Universe, it might be time to take a trip down memory lane...

The time Green Goblin killed Gwen Stacy on national television
Someone asked if the Goblin had been shown killing on national television. And, you know what? Yeah, yeah, he had been. You know why? Because he put it on there himself. Since this is apparently the first time the public has seen it, we must presume that Goblin set up his own camera beforehand. (Which would be an interesting retcon to get into if someone ever bothered to follow up on it.)

Bonus scan from the same arc: Goblin re-enacts with action figures.

The Show Must Go On

This was brought up numerous times in the previous Amazing Spider-Man thread, so I decided to post it once and for all. In my opinion, it's one of the better Chameleon stories out there. Not surprisingly, Marvel has all but forgotten it.

On a related note, this was the first Spidey story written by Paul Jenkins. He would later become the writer for Peter Parker Spider-Man and Spectacular Spider-Man.

Thai 'Spider-Man' rescues autistic child
It's nice to know that, despite him selling his soul and cheating on his wife in America, Spider-Man's still a hero in other countries.

An unusual disguise has helped a Bangkok fireman rescue an eight-year-old boy who had climbed on to a third-floor window ledge, Thai police say.

The firefighter dressed up as the comic book superhero Spider-Man in order to coax the boy, who is autistic, from his dangerous perch.
