Batman Does Tartaros
I was revisiting the Torment arc in Superman/Batman and discovered this little gem of a page in issue no. 41.

While Bats and Bekka go off in a mission to save Supes from Darkseid, Bats seems to have a particularly strong attraction to Bekka and asks her why. Apparently Bekka has the power that draws men who are tormented by love to her while being attracted to them herself. But it can be cured!

Facepalm!Bats in the second to the last panel in the bottom is so funny. Consummation. My God.

Yes, Bats, you're so sexy that even a trip to goddamn Tartaros can get you laid. And yes, it's the best situation that the writers have thought up for you while being in the aforementioned goddamn Tartaros. Oh, writers.

I think this was posted on the first day I joined the old scans_daily. I remember thinking what a peculiarly useless superpower it was.

Maybe it could be used in a clinical way as a therapist of some sort? Although the clients who needed it most would be exactly the ones who wouldn't want to use it.

I had some vague idea her power could make people open up who had been traumatized into emotional repression. Or over-achievers who have closed their feelings off. Not sure how it could be used constructively.

Ahh, I see. That could be interesting, although eventually it would get rather inappropriate seeing as it apparently inevitably ends in sex!

I know there's some other hero floating around the DCU that has the power to make people trust them, by way of getting the warm and fuzzies around her, feeling comfortable enough to open up. A therapist with that superpower would be kinda neat.

I thought she was in Kelly's run? Or is that a different Faith?

No your right. Sorry its just those were glorious years when for almost 70 issues JLA was awesome.

I suppose a lot of super-heroes could use their powers for medical purposes, everything from accurate diagnoses to pain alleviation to rehabilitation. It might arguably be a better use than fighting crime, but it might not make for compelling comics that people would pay money to read.

Still... SUPER CLINIC. Heroes spend one day a week using their abilities in an ER setting. It would need more research than the average writer would enjoy, though.

I've been working on something like that. Know any artists?

I've got: main characters, secondary characters, primary origins, general scenario origins, facilities, institutions, world backhistory, primary character storylines, interwoven inter-main-character storylines, four different multi-episode antagonists, some single-episode antagonists, and a good enough handle on science across a lot of different disciplines to make most of it seem pretty plausible (with a minimum of 'because the creators SAY SO' fiat and over-expository hot air).

Also some specific ideas for character designs, scene layouts, visual sequences, book/issue/whatever layout, ability effects, and (maybe) a title.

What I don't have is the ability to draw or color.

Shit, I just need to make this a post, don't I? I have no idea how someone gets started as a writer.

I dabble with art in my free time
I mostly paint, but I have been seriously considering trying my hand at drawing comic-book-like art
if it turns out any good, I'll probably post it here, and if it's to your satisfaction I would love to help you out if you're interested

It's not so much a superpower, but that Bekka, as a New God, is an embodiment of a particular type of love, just like Orion is an embodiment of a raging warrior.
