Captain Marvel's favorite part of a woman
How inexplicable. This is from WHIZ COMICS# 51 in 1944. Odd little throw-away moments like this are one of the reasons why I love Golden Age comics. Marvel has been asked to judge a beauty contest, but why he's doing that with the tape measure is not explained.

The question may come up in conversation, "what is the sexiest part of a woman?" or "what is your favorite part?" Guys, as you value your life, immediately say, "Her mind, of course." Eyes or smile are answers you might also get away with. But if you say, "Her forearm and it should ideally be shorter than 29 inches," everyone will draw away from you and you will receive puzzled looks for awhile.

I didn't think we were talking about person to person compliments, but instead generalizations. "What do you like in a woman?" "What do you like in a man?" Probably smart to err on the side of caution.

I think the personally directed compliment is very appreciated by men or women, but that at the beginning, it's trickier. And agreed, context counts.

I think we can all agree that when asked "What do you like in a woman?" "My wang" is almost always the wrong answer.

When asked "what part of a woman do you like to look at/', another wrong answer is "the top of her head." (har)

On the other hand, I've given lots of spontaneous compliments to women I don't know well, and they never seem to be taken badly. "Your hair looks nice in the sunlight," or "I like that mischief in your smile," or (at the gym) "you just look great all over." Maybe it's because I mean it and am not being pushy. Maybe it shows in your voice if you mean it honestly.
