( Didn’t she deserve one day of distracting herself? With someone she didn’t really know that well, who wouldn’t be able to read her the way her friends and family might? It was better than sitting in her room, eating her feelings as she clicked play on another episode of the X-Files. That was unhealthy. Getting out in the fresh air, going somewhere, being social - that was healthy. Right? That was progress. Wasn’t it? )

( There were certain rules she liked to live by when it came to being a vigilante. One of those was not to hurt someone who didn't deserve it. The line got blurred when she was in the heat of the moment and she let herself leave frostbite on people, but even then she tried to keep the severity in check, matching the degree to whatever the criminal had been doing. A man assaulting a woman warranted a worse case of frostbite than some kid stealing something, in her opinion. )

When: Monday, May 5, night, 10pm ish
Where: A kind of cruddy bar in The Rails
What: Felix needs to ask Ciara about serious stuff.

( But Felix was getting ahead of herself. She was making assumptions. She didn't know anything for sure yet. Which was why she wanted to talk to Ciara, even if it wasn't any of her business. )

( It felt like the kind of night that should be spent with friends. Which meant she didn't want to go home to a dorm suite full of people she didn't know, nor really cared to know. Texting Lora to see what she was doing seemed the best option, mostly because it usually meant a quiet night in with someone she actually liked. )

What: Ciara does some shopping.
When: April 19, afternoon.

( Not sure what to do with her day off, Ciara contemplated several things. A movie. Visiting Joni's family. Sleeping all day. Stopping by her dad's. Things that sounded ok, but not anything that grabbed her as 'this is the thing I have to do today.'  )

What: A-day-in-the-life-of narralog. She helps a dog and robs a bank. Ciara pays witness to the tail-end of the latter event.

What: Cavanaugh family reunion

Where: A cafe on the Keyes College campus

Secretly - though she would never admit it to anyone, ever - Joni loved it when Ciara invited her over for a visit and to hang out. It wasn't often she was able to escape the dreariness of West Waverly. Though Old Utopia was barely a step above, many of the colleges were located there, and hence, it was full of twenty-somethings, and all the hip and happening little nooks and cranies in which they hid. Here, Joni could pretend to be someone - anyone. Particularly someone more adult, considering she didn't have to be escorted everywhere she went here by her older brother, for fear of getting mugged, or stabbed, or raped, or all of the above.

( Maybe it wasn't much, but it was certainly more glamorous than her life in Isle. )

( An easy patrol was what she wanted, one that simply took her around Ryde Hall, then back home to her dorm where she could eat a quick dinner and collapse onto her bed. But nothing was ever that simple. )
