St. Margaret's: the OOC Community

Hallu, I am Khush, and this is Derrick Wesley!

Coming at you from Manhattan, Kansas, Derrick is a newly arriving Standard in Sphinx House and he's a Technomancer - meaning he has psychic control over electronics and a special bond with the World Wide Web. His hax habits got noticed by the FBI and he, along with his friend who you'll meet shortly, got picked up and given a choice: come to St. Margaret's and train and hone his gift, graduate and go to college to hone it some more, and then train to work for the FBI as an international cyber patrolling agent and protect the United States from cyber terrorism. OR. Go to prison for illegal cyber activities.

So here he is, picturing how good he's gonna look in a James Bond suit once he becomes a secret federal agent. SO COOL.

Derrick is a super nerd. Think of the typical nerd trope and he probably checks off most of the stereotypes. He's very smart and had his start in video games, which is where he got the handle ~getgud and became widely known to video gamers as someone who was almost impossible to beat. It boosted his ego, but he also saw himself as sort of a Robin Hood type, taking notches out of wealthy players who pay to win.

He's nice, painfully shy around pretty girls, and when he gets stressed out (often), he goes running.

Greetings, loved ones let's take a journey! Vegas here. I'm new and I'm a grad student in the New York area, which puts me at EST, but also means I don't at all keep normal hours. One man's 2am is another man's noon, amirite. Anyway this isn't what you came her for. You came here for this girl:

Aurelia Loveridge. Eli for short. Advanced student in House Kitsune. Eli is the daughter of a haruspex and a thaumaturge and grew up in Prague with her mother's occult centric family. Despite the fact that her relatives are all steeped in magic, Eli was an ordinary human up until age eleven, when one of her aunts used her as a vessel to contain a pair of malevolent spirits. She spent the subsequent years of her life in Las Vegas with her father who is a stage magician (also, a real magician).

Anyway, she is possessed. She has sigils tattooed on her that keep them mostly contained but sometimes they overwhelm her enough to be assholes, which is the reason why she attends St. Margaret. They're also dramatically shortening her life span so Eli has like...fifteen-ish more years to live. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Consequently she's a little bit of a wild child. She likes art history, classical music at high octaves, and dick jokes. Difficult af. Tequila af.

I'm Khush and this is Neculai.

For those of you who followed along with Sorin's plot, you may remember him. He's the reflection of Sorin, summoned straight outta the mirror. He's not Sorin's exact opposite, but he's very different. Neculai was disillusioned by the same people at Anton castle that kidnapped and experimented on dozens of magically gifted children. They had Sorin summon Neculai and would keep him separate from the others to monitor and, when it was discovered the Neculai also had magical abilities similar to Sorin's, they decided to use it to their advantage. So Neculai was convinced he was the son of the guy running the joint in order to summon an illusion to hide the castle.

Fast forward to now, with Anton castle destroyed, the children freed, and Sorin dead, Neculai remains in the physical world. Demetrius the wizard gave him two choices: go to sleep and never wake up, or attend St. Margaret's and make up his debt to society by being a productive witch. As you can see, he chose the latter.

So! Neculai is coming to the school bearing a lot of guilt for his part in everything. He has a slew of mental issues to deal with, like not being able to be alone in a quiet room for long and not being able to get attached to people. He doesn't know what kind of a reception he'll get from the Anton-ites who are there, but he's not optimistic about it. With Sorin's face, he knows it will be painful for those who loved Sorin to see him out and about.

He's starting as an Intermediate and is in Pegasus House.

Meet LIAM CABOT, a new character here and it's his first year at St. Margaret's too. You can read through his full profile HERE! But here are some highlights!

• Liam is a BORN WEREWOLF and an INTERMEDIATE in LADON.
• He is from Boston, Massachusetts. Yes, he has the Boston accent from the rougher parts of town.
• He is of Irish American heritage, of which he is very proud, as he is of being a werewolf and being from Boston.
• He is athletic and will be involved with sports and get along with big personalities and the people who tend to care about sports. Naturally his favorite teams are his local tames (Boston Bruins, Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, New England Patriots, New England Revolution, etc).
• Liam has a bad temper he inherited from his dad that he isn't happy about and has trouble controlling.
• He knows how to play the drums but not the guitar! C-C-C-C-Combo breaker!
• His family is Catholic but he doesn't consider himself very religious.
• He keeps personal things close to his chest and will hide stuff from others because he doesn't like people getting in his business.

So there's that. So, friends, enemies, casual acquaintances, flirtations, etc? Give me things!

Hello! To commemorate the new year, I am bringing in two new characters!

The first is Brendan Visser, a Dutch-born half-púca who has the ability to turn into (some) animals. Minor rub is that, whenever he sneezes, he forcibly changes into one of his animals. (Annoying.) He's an Intermediate Ladon and you'll probably see him around the sports field. If not, you'll probably hear about the guy who sometimes turns into a goat. You can find his application here.

Second is Aktamun Setessen, an Egyptian witch who identifies as an acolyte of Seth. He is gifted at necromancy and elemental magic but, after most people he grew up with were massacred by a rival cult and he escaped with his life, his mentor arranged for him to find refuge at St. Margaret's. He's an uppity Standard from Kitsune. He is ready to inject some chaos into your life! You can find his bio here.

• She is a GREED DEMON from a commune in São Paulo, Brazil.
• She is a STANDARD in SPHINX house. Sasha, be grateful she isn't also in Hydra house! XD
• Her demon magic is tied mostly with contracts. She has own money that she's earned over the years from hustling other people using contracts. The contracts are equal, so don't worry, you can borrow money for ice cream and don't have to swear over your first born or your soul. She's basically a junior loan shark.
• She and her dad had a contract about raising her, and it was a very complicated and very long document. This is important to know because it's because of that contract she's at the school.
• Natália told her dad's client about a loophole to his loophole he was using to make the guy hand over his daughter. It lost her father the equivalent of $10 million US dollars. As punishment, she has to go to St. Margaret's and pay her way there. No, she's not happy about this at all.
• She is incredibly good with numbers and keeps her phone with her at all times because it has all the information she needs to keep track of her loans.

Digi here with my newest toon. Yes, I have a problem, I'm just not ready to deal with it yet, lol.

Meet Nicole Ramsey. She hails from Summit Park, Montreal. Yes, she does speak with a French Canadian accent. She comes from a very wealthy family. She is friendly but is sometimes oblivious to the fact that everyone is not from money.

She is a witch, specializing in elemental magics, especially ice related(let the Elsa jokes begin...). She is a standard in Pegasus.

For those who pay attention to such things, she is a world class figure skater and has won 3 gold medals and 1 silver metal at the 2016 Junior Olympics in Lilliehammer, Norway. Her real passion though, is hockey.

Hey all. I'd like to introduce you to Elias Farrell. He's a teacher and has been at the school for a while now and teaches enchantments, charms and curses, combat magic, painting, film studies classes and is the advisor for the photography club.

Elias is an alumnus of St. Margaret's and after graduation got in a horrible accident which left him paralyzed (thanks to no one knowing about magic and stuff he was sent to the hospital and was unable to get discharged due to his condition to get to a healer at school.) while he has minor movement in his legs they will not support his weight and he is bound to a wheelchair. He lives on campus in a bungalow that has been altered for his chair. As probably clear from the classes he teaches he is a witch and an artist.

For any adults who may have knows Elias from before at school, he was kinda a jerk. He was in Hydra and was kinda a stereotypical jock who just happened to know magic as well. He had friends who were like him and looked down on those who weren't. Since his accident his personality has pretty much done a 180. He's a lot more accepting, though his patience can be short sometimes he doesn't judge people the same way he used to. The chair kinda gave him a whole new perspective on life.

So yea. That's Eli.

Hello all, Lexi here with number two. She's a bit different that Pavel. Though, they are both in Landon House.

This is Fen. She's got an interesting story. Here are the cliff notes. 1) She's a little younger than the mid-teen she looks like, in fact she'll be turning 5 this year. 2) She wasn't always human, but for the last 2 years she's been living as one. She started out as the family exotic pet (Fennec Fox) and her 'sister' was fooling around with a spell she shouldn't have and... well... now she's stuck. (whole family is witches BTW) 3) I'm gonna be putting up a 'wanted' for her sister who she would have been sent to the school with. 4) Keith and Heather (her owners) only sent her to St. Margaret's because a) their daughter turned the right age to be able to start and b) they're hoping the staff can undo their daughters mistake.

So that's her history in a nutshell. Personality wise she's pretty outgoing and curious, shy with new people but that doesn't always last long. She knows a lot of basic things, so while there may be some interesting questions she does know what a fork is. Also, beyond Keith she hasn't had interactions with any other males, (there were three females of varying ages in the house so they're cool) especially not men closer to her apparent age. So teachers she has a point of reference for, but the students... I'm excited to see what happens.

I am reposting this because the other entry is now attached to a delete account with a funky username. So I deleted that, and am doing this instead. Don't worry, Lee and Khush, I remember stuff we talked about before! :)

I'm losing three at graduation, and I'm trying to make up for it or something? Shh. I also play two teachers and a misc. character. *coughs* Hi, I'm Chrissie, and I am bringing in a new character with a new species, ooo~~~~~

This is CAITLIN MURPHY, she is a new character for me and I won't list which number she is because it's not important, k? But there's stuff you should probably know about her, so let's focus on that instead. Here's what you should know:

• Her full profile is HERE.
• She is a STANDARD and in HYDRA.
• She's on life #2 when one of her foster father's killed her (explained in the bio).
• Caitlin has been here since the beginning of the school year but she doesn't talk to anyone. She's never posted to the journal system either, so while she's been "here" she hasn't inserted herself into any situations.
• She has no friends, and that's perfectly fine for her because she dislikes most people. She finds most conversations boring, and will walk away from in the middle of one without much care if she's being rude. If people flirt with her, they are met with no response and her just walking away! ;D I'm sorry I enjoy difficult characters? notsorry
• Some may have seen her around but she seems to disappear after classes and clubs let out for the day. That's because she will turn into a cat and do her own thing or she'll go free running/parkouring/skateboarding elsewhere.
• She can speak in her cat form like other Cat Sìth can, so if your character ever encounters her, they might find it strange or they may not be surprised at all.
• She likes scaring people by dropping from big heights and landing right next to them. Not even sorry.

So, there's all that. I don't expect a lot of connections for her, but that's alright because it's pretty much how she wrote herself, and you gotta do what the muse demands. Expect her to pop up randomly, and feel free to have your character like "new phone, who dis?" or whatever.

Hello all it's Lee coming in with a new character. Originally I had planned to wait until Kana graduated to bring her in, but I finished her app a little early, so without further adieu I would like to re-introduce (or for the newer players introduce) Katherine Branson aka Kat.

She is a wonderfully kind girl with the psychic power to see into your past with naught but a touch. Typically she keeps herself fully clothed because she isn't too fond of the drawback of this power which sends her into a bit of a seizing fit, or as was more recently discovered can cause her to go into a rather lengthy coma while she views all of the images and at times short scenes.

She will be returning to the school much the same person that she left with one alteration. She has been watching the life of this one girl by the name of Sarah Coleman for the past year. She has had no new memories other than the ones she experienced while seeing Sarah's past, and this has caused her to begin having moments where she sort of acts like the other girl. This will especially be noticeable in her dress on some days. Typically she wears rather conservative clothing that may feature cartoon characters, tv shows, or movies that she likes, but there are now times she will wear something a great deal more revealing.

On top of that. Sarah was into girls, so any sexual content she has seen lately has been between two girls which has also ignited her curiosity there.

Other than that, she's the same sweet girl who will sit with you if you look sad and alone. She will care for you if you look depressed, and she will be overjoyed with you if you're excited.

Mamma's home! (And Theo's back)

This is Ms. Josephine Pearl. My first teacher (finally) as well as my first completely non-human character. She is a Marid, which is a type of Djinn. The Marid are rumored to be the most powerful of all djinn (think Disney's Aladdin with all that phenomenal cosmic power!) and the only type that can use magic in addition to djinn elements. She has blue skin naturally and has mastered the elements of fire and air, but her main strength is water. She's a power house, in other words, and she's your best friend. Legend has it that the Marid can even grant wishes.

She was a teacher at the Academy for 50 years starting about 130 years ago (1887-1937). Correct me if I'm wrong, Chrissie, but I believe she may have been teaching before even Rafe was there. Ms. Stheno and Mr. Cavanaugh probably will remember her. There's a lot that has probably changed in her 80 year absence! While at St. Margaret's in the past, she was the Head of Kitsune House, which may tell you a lot about her personality. She is happy to see the young and determined Ms. Williams taking the role today. Now, Ms. Pearl will be teaching Religion, Transformation, and will be the new instructor for the dance class (the Academy really has a hard time keeping those for long. I blame Davian and Victoria's quarrels LOL JUST KISS ALREADY).

Josephine is old for a Djinn and is nearing the end of her life, so she has decided to come back to the Academy. She's good friends with Ms. Menides and in our Headmistress' absence, Josephine is here to keep an eye on things (not that no one trusts you to do the job, dearest Jack).

She will love each and every one of your kiddos and grandma-gush over their endeavors. She'll flirt and tease her fellow staff members and will especially become fast friends with the ladies. Josephine loves people and it shows.

Hi all! It's Cris with a brand new one: meet Wendy the Wendigo!

Wendy is a new kid who has just come into being due to a failed ritual. He's operating at half-power due to this meaty, human-shaped husk and he hates that. He wants to be restored to full power, but since that's currently not an option, he'll enroll in the school and try to blend in.

Operative word being try.

He's an aloof, proud spirit of the eternities who, for the first time, has to deal with emotions, clothes and having to pee at night. He's not coping particularly well, so he needs your help! (Not the friendliest sort, though. Beware.) He's in House Hydra, though he will start out as living with a teacher.

Howdy all, my name is Sami and I'm new here. I bring with me Sasha Park, a standard year student who belongs to House Hydra.

Sasha's a half-demon, but he doesn't want anyone to know that. He grew up in a demon commune and was pretty much despised/shamed for being what he is; since he doesn't know whether students at St Margaret's will see him in the same way, it's better to be safe than sorry. Skittishness should be expected.

However that doesn't mean he's a big, soft Bambi, even if he looks and dresses like one. Even if he also acts like one sometimes. After running away from his commune, Sasha got into a spot of trouble that ended with him assaulting a police officer; if he hadn't been picked up by St Margaret's he'd probably be in a juvenile detention centre right now. Or, since he technically has no proof of citizenship, deported.

Hello All! Digi here with my newly minted teacher.

Chloe Abigail Williams. Were-Dingo. Kitsune, class of 1989. She will be serving as the head of house for Kitsune....and probably freaking out about it. At least in the early going she will waiver between too lenient and too firm, trying to find the right balance.

She is also Alicia's aunt, but Alicia doesn't know that and Chloe isn't telling anyone, so mums the word. Like Alicia, she loves music. She isn't as talented as her niece but her trusty guitar is always near by.

She is from Carnarvon, Australia but has been in North American pretty much full time since she was in St. Margaret's herself. She is most recently from Hollywood, CA. Though she has been all over, the past 26 years.

She will be teaching Philosophy, Law and Justice, Music studies/appreciation and Economics.

This is Ashley again with character #2. Meet Alexei Orlov, an over 300-year-old vampire from Russia with the ability to control and create Ice. Alexei is the Russian and Literature teacher at school and has an adoptive son, Vanya, who is a werewolf and is of playable age! So if someone wants to pick up a werewolf teen raised by a vampire... *TEMPTEMPTEMPT*

Alexei is homosexual biromantic, meaning he sexually is gay, but is capable of romantic feelings toward females. He is also a cross-dresser and perhaps if born and raised in a more modern time would have been transgender, however the time he was raised in and the centuries that have passed (not to mention all he's been through) have given him a special kind of acceptance on how he was born and outlook on himself and life in general. Of all the issues he has, how he dresses, his sexuality and self-identity are not among them.

He can be a bit hard to approach and is considered something of an 'Ice Queen' type of person, but he does try to let his students know his door is always open.

He does also have 2 sisters that were turned with him, as he is 1 of 3 triplets. And some 'vampiric siblings' as well. He also traveled much with his sire, and was mostly State Side after he left her. His bio is long and not a happy one. I tried to gloss over some of the more terrible stuff, but there are some trigger stuff vaguely mentioned. So beware.

I want all the plot! So give them to me.... ^_^

Yesterday I had planned to start tagging regularly again. I had every intention of doing this especially since I got Fred back to the school. I truly had every intention of doing this, so "why didn't you do it Lee?"

Nature said nope.

Then it continued further and said, Hell nope.

But today I have internet and there are no storms atm.

I do have some work I have to do, but I figured I'd go ahead and go through with the re-introduction of Winifred Jordan aka Fred

She is a vampire who once upon a time not so long ago was being trained as a hunter. She left the school for the summer to track down where Caitlin had gone after she had left. She found Caitlin as well as her sire, and then a lot of horrible happened. Feel free to read her updated history to discover some details, but long story short she had her will manipulated for the past few months, and the only thing that seemed to bring her back was when Caitlin and her sire both died.

I feel it is needless to say how she feels at the moment, so she'll likely be a bit stand-offish for a while. After that wears off a bit she's got some other issues she'll be dealing with because of all this as well.

Anyways. Like I said before, I have some work to do before I can actually play, so I'll be tagging and replying later. Let the plots begin :)

Kana is back. She got held up in Japan for a bit but she's here now.

For all those who do not know her she is a kitsune in Kitsune who loves clothes, sewing, drawing, and has been slowly getting better at being social.

She's been here for a few years so to all the newer players who want a character that knows her feel free.

And make it double. Here is part II of Gil, or rather, Gil is part II of him, because Galadari Rubinhart was firstborn, thank you very much. This means he's the heir to the Rubinhart line and this means that he already has his life all planned out for him, including (as elvish customs demand) the eventual marriage to his betrothed, our very own Felicity Bainsbridge.

As the next Baron of Bymarka, Galad has had a lot of expectations, responsibilities, and tradition thrust upon him, and he hates it. He acts out in violent ways and loves to spar with anyone willing (or unwilling) and will intentionally provoke a fight just for the exhilaration of it. He especially loves his knives.

Galad is the strategist of the twins and all his brawn might lead some to believe he's lacking in brain, but such is their folly. He very much likes intelligent people and will especially like them if they can match him as much in words as in battle. Just don't cross him or his brother, and you'll be fine. Maybe.

P.S. I will get caught up on tags in earnest tomorrow! I've been working all weekend with very little time to do anything but sleep in between. Ahhhh #ratailonholidays
