SCHOOL'S OUT FOR SUMMER!

That means ( a few things: )

Since both Chrissie and Cris are on a solid hiatus at the moment, I'm the MIC (Mod In Charge). Get your seatbelts on, kids!

My first order of business is to process all these apps. By the end of the night (Mountain Standard Time), those with apps will be receiving an acceptance letter, courtesy of moi. \o/ DONE! Everyone punch the FRIEND BUTTON!

More info about the ferris wheel at the dance, pending anyone's outrageous replies or reactions (hehe), no one died and everyone was safely unloaded from the thing before they took it down. Needless to say, the school lost that deposit. DOH.

And last but not least, I've set the official dates for Graduation of the Class of 2018. That info is available in THE CALENDAR. May 25th will be the final day of classes for Experts. They will pass the torch on to the Advanced year. Last day of class for everyone else will be May 31st. Graduation ceremony will be held on June 1st.

More Info on Graduating Characters:

As we're quickly approaching the summer months, keep in mind that the game will technically be closed for summer vacation. We do this every year, but it's by no means going to bar anyone from continuing to play if they feel like it. Expert characters who are graduating June 1st, you will be allowed to continue playing them in the game until the end of summer to wrap up any character plot arcs in process. After which, they'll go out into the world and move on from St. Margaret's. The characters who graduate get the honor of being put on our Emeritus list. Their PBs will forever be held and existing characters in the game can contact them (should the emeritus player still be in the game), but not the other way around. Once Emeritus, you're done writing plot advancement for that character.

[EDIT] Would everyone please take a look at the WANTED PAGE and update it as necessary? Characters who are graduating, I'm going to go ahead and delete those wanted lines. Everyone else, consider adding a wanted ad for your own characters! We will be back to advertising for new players in the fall, but no one's stopping word-of-mouth. Just come to us, shoot us an email or leave a DROP BOX, because technically holds will be closed for the summer, but we'll make special accommodations for friends of friends.

As of the end of classes on Friday, school is out for the summer! Your kiddos can go home for the break, get jobs in town, or take summer courses at the Academy. They're also free to just hang out and do nothing. It is summer break, after all. It's of course a great time for you to work on individual character plots. We won't be having a big game plot this summer, but come fall, we've got something big in the works! Take this time to explore while you still can DUN DUN DUN.

Players with Staff Members: If you want to make up a summer course that your teacher will offer over the break, please comment below! We'll add it to the summer curriculum. Faculty are of course allowed to leave for the summer as well.

Players with Students: If your kiddo is, for whatever reason, being held back a grade and repeating their year, comment below.

Barring any academic year repeats, at the beginning of the next semester, we're going to have an empty Standard class roster. Which means we need to brainstorm for new characters, obviously ;)

For The Mods

I'm so sorry for the following tags because I'm might be a slightly bit drunk. Go home Theo.

On September first second! (because Labor Day, apparently), classes will start anew. Summer classes will have ended this week, so the last week before the classes start is entirely empty for the students to enjoy as they will. Most students will be returning from their homes in this week. For your characters, this means that this is the perfect time to update their curriculums. Which subjects will they be taking this year? You can leave it unchanged and handwave it, if you wish, but this is the perfect moment to update the classes, optimize them for RP purposes and let them reflect the changes your characters have been through. The characters who joined this summer needn’t bother with this, of course.

House Mentors will be announced later. This post, however, is the place to be if your character wants to be a captain for a sports team. (Mickey, for example, is the captain of the soccer team.) Consider if it’s suitable for your character to be a captain. If two characters are vying for the same position, the mod will decide, basing on seniority and history of the characters. The mod always has the last say in this.

Moon days this month are September 8th, September 9th and September 10th.

It's June! This month will be a plot-light month on my end, since the mod is finishing his thesis. So, after the Gilligan's Gala, not much will be happening on the school grounds, giving your characters ample opportunity to get away from the school for a bit.

All characters will graduate to the next year automatically. If you do not want this to happen, answer to this post, and your character will be held back in their year.

As Mr. Kaden mentioned, full moon nights are June 12, 13 and 14.

Furthermore, I would like to remind all players that I encourage player involvement when it comes to plots and world-building. If you have an idea for a plot that affects more than just your own characters, or if you want to add an amenity to the town or school, feel free to drop me a line. I will always retain the right to veto, but I will do my best to incorporate your vision into the game.

Detail: in June, there are plenty of ladybirds covering the school grounds. Most of them are red and black, but some have more outlandish colours.
