Game 129
Who: Everyone
Where: The Arena
When: Day 211, early evening
What:

[The Call to the Arena today is the simple sound of hammer on metal. Rhythmic, tireless it's almost a marching tune to those who happened to hear and follow it.

When you enter the Arena bare land quickly gives way to hot winds and an uphill slope of loose, fine sand. Your upward trudge isn't easy, with sand being the horrible, contrary thing it is when you're intent on getting ANYWHERE.

As you top the dune, you see a giant statue sitting on the thrones, leaning forward on his elbows and with a huge, jovial grin. At his feet, there is a large, spanning lake with a tropical island in the center... between you and the lake though, there are eight paths.]

HA! WARMED UP, KIDDOES?

Best of luck, then. Steer clear of the beak, if you're able.

[Offers his arm to Kururu.]

Shall we?

[Takes it, eyes practically sparkling as ideas take shape.]

Has Summer checked inside the tool shed yet?

Not just yet, but I'm fairly certain I know where our next stop will be.

[Inside the tool shed, there is a hoe, a machete and handsaw hooked up on the back of the plywood wall.]

[Picks up the handsaw. :|a]

Not the most stunning selection.

But for this . . .

[Picks up the machete.]

The saw can take the shed apart, and we can harvest the cabbages with this. And the hoe . . .

Do you think if we hung a cabbage from it, the swans would follow that? If it was a really nice one.

I suppose we might be able to convince them. It's worth a try, at the least.

You mean to bring them with us?

We don't have anything for a sail, or even really for oars, unless we make ones from the shed. Getting a boat to move . . . it would be easier, with help.

[Laughs.]

Good gracious, if they're to pull us, we shall need a flock. We'd best get started.

[Grabs the hoe as well, and heads for the door.]

It would be incredible though, wouldn't it? A boat drawn by swans, like a carriage from a fairy tale . . .

The idea's rather a splendid one, but I can't say that I know many tales about fairies.

*it's not quite clear whether he's got the human-sized swans under control or not, but what is clear is that he has two of them on vines and they're dragging him toward the patch*

Whoa!
