Welcome to RPG-Connect! This community was designed as the middle ground for rpg advertising communities on insanejournal. When I was browsing IJ, I came across two types of ad communities: the over-restricted and the under-restricted. To me, most of the communities had lost it's personal touch with the roleplaying world. Here at RPG-Connect, our goal is to help quality players and games find one another. Legacy


After discovering the means for viable space flight humans began to leave the Earth. Whether it was to seek personal fulfillment or fortune many joined the intergalactic stage. It was soon apparent that they were not alone.

In the decades that followed, about 50 years, humanity started to make its mark as other species made theirs. For some this meant great achievements in science, efforts to make further human society and legitimate business enterprises. For others it meant finding new and interesting places and people to offer less salubrious services to.

Once it was an intergalactic shipping and trading freighter, but now the Phoenix is a waystation in orbit around a desolate planet on the edge of a lawless zone. Over the generations it has changed hands many times and has been added to and modified as needed to suit the needs of those living within its walls. The size of a city, it holds numerous docking bays, living areas, markets, clubs and more. It has become a place where anyone can get damn near anything. Humans are here too now. For some it is a stop on the way to somewhere else or a place where they can get what they need. Others have insinuated themselves in the cutthroat world as surely as they did on earth.

Legacy is an 18+, OC-only, sci-fi themed role-playing community. We're very excited to meet all of you writers who are ready to create and explore new peoples and worlds!

THE SHADOW BEFORE
On the surface, Point Pleasant, Maine certainly appears to be the kind of idyllic coastal town that every tourist would want to flock to during the warm summer months. It has that welcoming small town atmosphere that draws you in and makes you feel as though you belong. Locals will be sure to point out its gorgeous harbor, cozy little shops, the pollution free night skies, clear and full of stars... not to mention its disturbing fascinating history.

What the locals won't tell you is that for the past three hundred and twenty three years, Point Pleasant has unwittingly served as a nexus for the supernatural, the metaphysical, the evil and the damned. There are plenty who are dismissive of its history. After all, every town has a run of bad luck here and there. So what if Point Pleasant has an unusually high number of missing persons... strange and unexplainable deaths happen. That? That wasn't a monster you saw... monsters aren't real. Right?

Oh, everyone wants to talk about what's happening in their town, and yet no one really wants to talk about it. They're content with going on with their lives, getting through school, making another buck, getting through the day in one piece. But what they don't know is that ignoring the evil won't make it go away. Those who ignore the past are doomed to repeat it, isn't that what they say? Simply put, whatever has been drawing the darkness into their small town is only getting started, and nobody is safe.

The Shadow Before is an original, horror based game set in the fictional town of Point Pleasant, Maine. This game is inspired by various elements of horror and the supernatural, and will include both game wide plots as well as individual arcs. Warning: Mature and dark themes lie ahead.

JOHN ADAMS PREP
On the surface, John Adams Preparatory School boasts an impressive and competitive academic program for the children of the 1%. What people don't know is that half, if not most of the students are preternatural. The school has more brewing beneath the surface than an old order of preternatural hunters alive and well among the student populace.

They brought across the pond hundreds of years ago. Something that's been asleep for a long time. That something is waking up and soon these teenagers will have more to worry about than who to vote for as Homecoming court.

John Adams Prep is a preternatural-themed roleplaying game set in an upscale private school in New York City. It blends concepts from the works of L. J. On March 19th 2011 a shocking turn of events took place. Thanks to a rather nasty murder trial that took place in Salem, Massachusetts - the long held secret world of supernaturals came to light...

Portland, Maine was never the sleepy little town everyone assumed it to be. It had a thriving arts scene, an active historical society, and more than enough bars to keep anyone content. But when everything came to light the city was thrown into the limelight in a way it never expected. Thanks to a bold move by the University of Southern Maine it became some what of a mecca for the supernatural thanks to the fact that, in an effort to give them a more prestigious reputation, the university became the first to require courses on supernatural health and anatomy in their health related majors, eventually adding a special policy fellowship to their law school. Now, that doesn't mean that things don't sometimes go bump in the night still, but the supernatural division of the Portland Police are more than happy to deal with whatever wants to try and push their idyllic little town into darkness.

So whether you're looking to help solve crime, run a little store, or maybe even take some classes - Portland, Maine is the place you want to be, no matter how human you are.

NEW HAVEN
the return to Willowbrook

Long after being shut down for its cruel experiments, the mutant secret has come to light. During a time of turmoil and transition, the newly outed mutants are looking for a safe haven. A facility built to house such people has long since been abandoned, but the space and technology are greatly needed once more, though this time to aid rather than to harm. With the help of both government and private funds, Willowbrook's doors open once more, though this time with a mutant at the helm. Renamed New Haven, the site is a work in progress, but offers mutants in need a safe place during the coming days while the world decides what to do with the knowledge that extraordinary people live among them.

VACANT. Thoth is an intelligent, measured man, capable of bringing Ares somewhat down to earth. He is a skeptic, though not necessarily a cynic. The two drifted apart somewhat when Ares went away to college, though they did keep in infrequent contact.

VACANT. Raven is Eris' close friend and a paparazzi on the payroll of TMZ. Raven supplies Eris with a good majority of the fodder for her gossip columns and the two get into plenty of trouble otherwise.

VACANT. Giltinė met Hades in Stuttgart, was with him when he discovered his family's past, and had a brief, ill-advised affair with him. They've remained good friends since.

VACANT. Persephone and Xochiquetzal both attended Los Angeles City College, ending up in a night class together. Due to similar interests, they became fast friends and remained in touch after Persephone earned her degree and moved on to UCLA.

Premise:
Five years ago, Pax Letale opened with much fanfare to provide a home to a unique set of clientele in Newport Beach, California. After nearly a year of mishaps, culminating in the death of one of its tenants, the apartment complex was shut down by the authorities after management was considered culpable in what was being called a murder investigation. In time the investigation turned cold case, and no charges were ever brought.

Now, Pax Letale is opening its doors once more. Boasting the tagline, "under new management!," the complex is newly updated to the latest fixtures and ready to cater to customers once again. Though the building offers the latest in amenities and apartment layouts, it's difficult to get a lease. There isn't even a waiting list to be put on. Instead, tenants who do manage to end up living in the building are special — they just don't know it yet. Anyone who does end up calling Pax home belongs there.

Every tenant of Pax Letale is a deity reborn in a mortal form. Those gathered within the complex are close to an awakening, touching the memories of their former selves and realizing once again who they truly are. With this awakening comes dangers in a new form, whether it be from old enemies, those who control the building itself, or from mortals who will throw themselves at the deities' feet for the barest scrap of attention.

To each and every new member of Pax Letale — welcome home.

Break's over, cupcake.

Your alarm grins it at you from your bedside table. You roll over, willing that monster away, but it's already made its way in. You feel those whens, whos, and whys squirming inside you. The worst kind of worms. They'll be gone in the morning, but now it's just you and them and they're churning you inside out.

That'd teach them. For sending you back to school. For stealing away this sweet summer bliss.

The disappearances might steal some of your thunder though. There'd be no televised funeral, no pile of flowers left at your bed or your parent's door. No charities or sick kid hospitals either. Nothing. So unfair. You'd just be another flower on the memorial to everyone but your friends, family, and this new thing curled up at your side.

You lift it up into the air. Your new Pokemon — the one you got on your birthday. The one you're not legally supposed to have but no one really cares about. It stares at you with sleepy eyes. It quiets the worms. Puts back some of the spine they chewed away. You roll back over, cradling your new favorite thing, and brave the clock again.

The worms didn't go away. They're butterflies now.

-A client that is a member at her dad's church, threatening to burst the bubble around her secret life
-Someone that takes advantage of her overly trusting nature (Client or coworker)

Islington Prep is one of the best schools in the Eastern United States, and one of the things that Islington prizes above all else is pride: pride in oneself, pride in one's house, and pride in the school. So the fact that the school is slowly but surely heading towards bankruptcy, while not exactly common knowledge, is cause for alarm for those in the know.

So just what would you do to save your school as you know it? Will you throw yourself into school life harder than ever, hoping that Islington's board will see what a mistake closing the school would be?

‘Islington Prep’ is a completely non-supernatural original game set in a prestigious boarding school in Maryland.

We're looking for writers who are dedicated to character development and quality writing. Characters from all grades can be played, but players must be 18+ please. We'd like to see a good mix of both moneyed students and scholarship students. Bring on the inevitable conflict between the so-called Haves and Have-Nots!

A blight upon the land. Darkspawn have risen and the archdemon brings plague and death wherever he lands.

The year is 3:24 Towers. For fourteen years, the third Blight has ravaged Thedas while Tevinter and Orlais war with each other. They have provided aid to Nevarra, a country desperately fighting to keep the Blight from consuming them. But their help comes with a price, and it seems as though Nevarra is doomed to fall, either to the Blight or to the ambitions of their more powerful neighbors.
LOST CODICES is an original character roleplaying game set in the Dragon Age universe during the third Blight in the port city of Cumberland. No knowledge of the Dragon Age universe is needed. We offer your typical slice of life and an over-arching plot, complete with a healthy dose of politics and saving the world from the archdemon Toth. Come and shape the future of Nevarra or become the hero that stops the Blight.

We're a small, moderately active community. We'd love to add some new players! This game does require at least one log a month for AC.

not your average boarding school
Rule #1 - Keep your fangs and claws to yourself: no snacking on any of the student body.
Rule #2 - No magic in the hallways.
Rule #3 - A full moon is no excuse for not having made your homework.

The '16 - '17 academic year is well underway and students are preparing for the end of the first term. Thanksgiving approaches with the winter holidays shortly on its tail. It's a time for cheer and excitement, but also tests and projects coming to a close. Winter approaches but fall still welcomes new faces amongst a growing student body. St. Margaret's happily moves along, though after the events of previous years, there's always some sort of unease as to what might crop up. They're all hoping for a peaceful holiday season, and maybe this year they'll get just that.
