[info]between_worlds

A seriously cracked out and stupidly active game.

Canon Future Gen goes back in time to 1996 to find that the stories they grew up hearing from their parents have all been changed. The Blacks run the Ministry of Magic and Voldemort disappeared in 1980. Nothing is the way it's supposed to be.

Game will open when we have a few excited players! We're starting small, so we're starting soon!

PREMISE ↓

Set sometime in the far(ish) future, On A Boat is a game for space-based and futuristic fandoms only (with the odd immortal here and there). We're low on pressure and high on fun. Come on, we're in space! If the fandom is in space, it's almost a guarantee that you can play a character from it.

We're in an amalgam universe, which means everybody gets to exist. It's a big, big universe out there! To start off, all ships and such are docked on the Eastland Docks on Metis (a planet made up for your convenience) for one reason or another, so as to let the characters mingle and connect with each other. For our purposes, Metis is magically in the middle of everything. So there. We'll be on this planet for a while, but don't fret! Our space-faring friends will have some wacky hijinks to contend with before we let them leave the planet.

Have fun, and happy sailing!

MOST WANTED ↓

The casts of Firefly and Star Trek XI! We have a Captain Kirk who needs a crew, and we need Captain Reynolds, Jayne, Book, Simon and Inara to complete the Serenity Nine!

The war to end all wars; that was what they called it as they faced the darkness for the final time, followers of the light joined hand in hand. Months of countless struggles bore on until all pressures came to a head at the Battle of Hogwarts. And in the events of one night, the course of history was changed for the rest of eternity. Lord Voldemort and his regime of Death Eaters were put down for good - and the Wizarding world celebrated in such style that even no Seer could ever have imagined. The light was finally breaking through the clouds.

Seven years later in 2004, Wizarding England stands at the cusp of a new Quidditch season. With the darkest ages of the Wizarding world behind them, witches and warlocks alike are prepared to leave their troubles at the door of every stadium - whether they support the Harpies, the Wanderers or Puddlemere United, magic users across the globe are united by one thing: their obsession. Tabloids spill over with gossip, fans gather in the streets, and posters of nearly every player sell out in stores across the countries. Professional Quidditch players are stalked by fans and paparazzi alike, whether in the pursuit of an autograph or a juicy story - there is no such thing as privacy in such a career. And above all else, every member of every British team intends to do one thing this season: make it to the National League.

In a new and revolutionary game, Quidditch League brings the lighter side back to the Wizarding world as they move away from the all too recent darkness. Compliant with Deathly Hallows canon, seven years has been more than enough to allow the Dark Mark to slip into forgotten territory, and instead for the Golden Snitch to flutter back into the focus of Wizarding England. Join the thirteen teams of Great Britain & Ireland as they battle their way toward the National League of the greatest sport ever invented - Quidditch.

Game opened NOVEMBER 10th.

After the Second Wizarding War there was a moment of calm, of peace and serenity. It was soon interrupted as people began to worry about what would happen next. No one wanted to risk the a slide back to what had happened during the war, but with public opinion split on the direction of wizarding society, there only seemed to be one solution - elect a new Minister of Magic. It was all very clean cut, very democratic. There were speeches and town hall meetings. The people came out and spoke their mind and in the end they picked the side that was safer – the older side of the coin. The party made up of mainly Pure Bloods – Puritas – was elected into the Ministry of Magic over the more progressive Allied Party. However, it wasn’t one of the old hats, nor was it someone that people would always look at and see the Dark Mark. They had been smarter than that.

Chance Warrington, now the newly elected Minister of Magic, was left to set up his cabinet, name his advisers and his ministers. Since he was elected to the position by the majority of the magical society in England, there is no reason to think that they would object to him, his choices, his policies or his staff….right? The press, the pundits, have openly criticized everything from policy to the color of his tie at brunch. With the fate of society resting in his hands, which way will it go?

The Ministry is a post DH, non epilogue compliant game set in 2006 that centers around the Ministry of Magic and the political struggles of the wizarding world. Inspired by shows like The West Wing, the focus will be on the internal struggles and mechanisms that drive the Ministry of Magic.

Game is Now Open!

In early 2007 President George W. Bush and a few of his joint chiefs were at a Anti-Mutant Rights Charity Gala in Arlington Texas where he was a guest speaker when tragedy struck. A bomb that was wired to the inner lining of the basement floor detonated at exactly 10:32 am destroying the entire building, reducing it to mere rubble. The nation was devastated, the President for which Cheney had amended the constitution to stay in office because of his fearless leadership against the mutants, was dead. His predesscor Dick Cheney stepped up as President and the new leader of the supposed 'Free World'. After Cheney was sworn in a video surfaced of a known mutant speaker taking the blame for the bombing.

Not just taking the blame but bragging to the public and threatening more death if the U.S.A. did not cooperate with mutant rights. At once war was declared on mutant-kind and any countries that supported them. Russia, Iraq, Afghanistan, North Korea, Japan, China, all were standing at edge as the U.S. armed their missile silos. For twenty-four hours the world was at a stand still as nuclear holocaust approached. Fortunately an agreement was made, a treaty signed and the world was able to breath. The only drawback? Mutants were now property of the countries in which they originated and were to be tested, cataloged, forced into camps that were more like prisons and some tortured, starved and treated in unspeakable ways. Why? Well because they were the new terrorists, the new Al-Qaueda. For two years the world treated their mutants like this until finally it was India and Russia who stood up and said no more. The First War: a MWPP RPG [17 Nov 2009|04:55pm]
The year is 1978. The war against the Death Eaters has been boiling under the surface for almost a decade now. It was little things at first, easy to ignore, escalating to bigger attacks, bigger crimes, and of course, retaliation. Now the country is about ready to tear itself apart as the Ministry steps up their attempts to defeat Voldemort and no one is really sure who they should trust, if they should trust anyone at all. Who can you turn to when your own government is as likely to kill you as the masked criminals roaming the streets?

Even the muggles are starting to notice. Attacks in muggle places are becoming more frequent, the Death Eaters getting more bold. And everyone is asking the same question.

How long before it's open war?

The First War is a Post-Warts, MWPP era RPG. We are canon through November 1st, 1978 and then we diverge, allowing the characters to tell their own stories.

Currently we are most interested in: Order Members, Death Eaters, and MLE Employees
