Capital: Hugh C. & Theodore C.
WHO: Hugh Christian & Theodore Chambers
WHEN: Following a showing of Hugh's play
WHERE: A Bistro in the Arts & Theatre district in the Capital.
SUMMARY: Dinner & drinks.
WARNINGS: Mild discussion of homophobia later on.
As they stepped into the Bistro in the Arts & Theatre district in the capital, Hugh was glad that he had called ahead to make reservations. Despite the late hour the place was full - perhaps a result of the fact that most of the plays would have gotten out not long before along with the fact that the kitchen stayed open until 2 in the morning.
This latter possibility, combined with the overall praise he'd heard of the establishment from some of his colleagues and an amazing dinner and cocktail he'd had here a month ago had all been why he'd picked this particular bistro. Hugh knew from experience that even if he hurried, it'd take a bit for him to get out of costume, back into street clothes and to whatever location he ended up choosing. He hadn't wanted them to risk missing food if Theo would want it - Hugh knew he was going to want some. He'd changed quickly, kept it casual in a dark red shirt with sleeves cuffed, light chinos, and brown leather loafers. Like his clothing, his hair was less than it's typical styled perfection having been styled for the show, but without him having taken time to redo it, a curl now continued to threaten escape, falling down over his forehead. He ignored this as he stepped up to the host offering the man a brilliant smile. "Table for two under Christian," he told him.
"Hopefully this will be as good this time around as it was last time around," he turned his smile to Theodore as the host went to check the table. "I've only been here once, and if it was a fluke I'm going to be very disappointed," he quipped.
They were led down a corridor of tables, past wood paneling, until they were given a table a bit further in and offered two menus as they sat and Hugh thanked the host, and turned his attention to the menu in front of him briefly before looking back up to Theodore.
Hugh had gone out a few times after rehearsals and performances earlier in the run with some of his colleagues, but this was the first time he'd done so with someone who wasn't on or behind stage with him in a really long time. The last time he'd done this after any show had been Seattle, and he loved doing it. He was always a little buzzed after any performance, and going home and sleeping never quite worked, but short of going out with some of the other cast and crew, which he had done a few times, there weren't many other options.
"Thank you for doing this with me," he fingered the menu as if he was going to look at it, but instead his gaze stayed on the man across from him. "I hate going home and trying to go to sleep after a performance," he shrugged, with a flash of a smile. "I hope it won't be too late for you."
