Dropping his messenger bag on the floor, Justin asked, “What now?”
Brian sighed dramatically, “My local laundry facility is severely lacking. There were no hot guys. Only trolls and lesbians and…” Brian shuttered, "Poor people."
“So, you didn’t get to soap anyone’s dispenser?”
“Not a one.” Brian moped.
Justin climbed onto the bed, “Poor Mr. Kinney. Unemployment has reduced him to performing routine household chores that don’t turn into porn clichés. I feel your pain.”
Justin snaked a hand over Brian’s hip and cupped his balls and breathed into his ear, “I really do.”
Thus, Brian actually smiled that day. |

They were both laying on their bed still wearing all of their clothes. It was Saturday night, and they had just come back home after spending a long day with Gus.
"This is it," Brian whispered, letting Justin's skilled fingers relax his very tense shoulder muscles.
"Better now?" the blond asked.
"Umm no, not really," Brian replied, his head buried in the pillow.
Justin raised his upper body and ran his fingers through his hair.
"It's nothing to be afraid of, you know. These things just happen. There is nothing you can do about it."
He ran his fingers all over Brian's well worn 501's.
"Easy for you to say, Sunshine," Brian mumbled, "it’s my 40th birthday tomorrow, not yours."
"Stop being a princess and listen to me. Are you listening?" Justin answered back.
The older man lifted his messy bed head from the pillow and gazed at his partner.
"I know it sounds corny, you geezer," Justin smiled and continued, "but you'll always be forever young to me. And besides, don't worry; you can only have a Death Day cake once every ten years."
Brian grabbed the younger man gently and planted a long, grateful kiss on his lips. |

Justin was shocked, to say the least. I could feel the look on his face even with my back to him.
“And they just handed it all over... just like that?”
“Just like that.”
“Where did it all come from? How did Joan even know Gus existed?”
“Best guess is either Jack told her before he died or Debbie blabbed to her at Church.”
The thing is, I had no idea that Joanie had scrimped and saved and scrounged away that much in savings. Claire must be having a heart-attack with all that cash not going to her own spawn. |

Brian had draped himself dramatically across their bed, throwing a major hissy fit and mumbling unintelligible nonsense.
“You do realize that it was only one? And besides, it was blond…”
“Sunshine.” Brian squeezed out between clenched teeth. “You know damned well that it wasn’t blond. It was grey.”
“So what!? It’s not the end of the world as we know it. After all, there’s always L’Oréal.” |
