I run my finger over what is showing of Justin’s bottom lip. He’s sleeping, but still he worries it between his teeth, the action, a sure sign that it’s not a restful night.
His lip bounces out of his mouth, his eyebrows knit together and he groans a word that’s indecipherable.
I put my arm around his waist and whisper his name.
He turns onto his side, his ass pushing against my groin. I’m not sure if he broke out of the nightmare, but then, he holds my hand and whispers, “I’m okay.”

I start to push my sweats down my hips but he stops me and whispers, “I’m tired.”
I laugh and Brian puts his hand over my mouth.
“Your ass couldn’t take what I’d give it for that response, so shut the fuck up and go to sleep.”
I smile when Brian’s hand moves to rest on my hip. I guess living at Deb’s won’t be as lonely as I thought. |

Hunter and his cohort of lost boys were raiding the refrigerator. One pierced boy was cutting off hunks of Velveeta, squirting mustard on it, and popping it in his mouth. I had offered to make protein shakes with carrageenan in honor of St Patrick’s Day. I got a horrified, “DUDE” screeched in harmony.
Michael handed one tall, skinny kid a loaf of white bread, chocolate syrup and peanut butter when the kid asked,” Um, Dude?” He passed a red headed kid a Coke receiving a slight smile, a quiet, “Dude.” Hunter winked, grinning at Michael, “Dude.” |
