Timeline: pre-series
A/N: I haven’t written a drabble in months, and I’m completely disappointed in the fact that this was all I could come up with. What the hell, muse?
Condom: Justin
Parked on top of a deserted hill listening to AM radio at midnight was not how Michael wanted to spend time with him. Bored, Michael would’ve asked Brian to take him home, but ever since Brian took a new job, Michael hadn’t seen him in a while.
“Brian—”
“Mikey, shut up,” Brian said, uncharacteristically excited. “It’s about to come on.”
A jingle was heard: “Toasty Crunchies, a complete whole breakfast for you!"
Michael giggled.
“If you tell anyone I wrote this, I’ll kill you.”
Michael squeezed his hand and smiled. “I won’t, even if I think it’s worth celebrating.” |

It was amazing how quickly I forgot everything. The sirens blaring around us. The flashing lights. The bodies, the injuries, our friends....The fact that Brian and I were no longer together. And yet none of this could touch me. There was only his lips and his arms and those forbidden words echoing in my ears. There was only the private celebration in my chest as my heart thumped madly, opening up once more to encompass his. And despite knowing that nothing would ever be the same after this night...I also knew that in some ways, nothing had changed. |

Title: Balloons, Pot and Booze
Notes: Sorry about the ridiculous title. Thank you to my darling ![[info]](https://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) happier_bunny for the speedy beta. I figured I better write at least one "regular" drabble for this challenge. Plus, I wrote a 100 drabbles already and didn't get to give Brian one single condom!!
And the condom goes to: Brian Kinney.
Daphne’s grin was the first thing Brian saw when he opened the loft door. Then, when she was busy squealing and hugging him, he noticed the bags beside her.
“Brian! I’m so excited!”
“Yeah, yeah,” Brian said, extricating himself from Daphne’s grip. “You brought balloons?” he asked in disbelief.
“You asked Justin to marry you. He said yes.” she said. “We have to celebrate!”
Brian just stared at her.
“I brought booze and pot too,” Daphne said hopefully.
Laughing, Brian ushered her in. “But keep the balloons away from Justin. I’m not listening to stoned Mickey Mouse impressions all night.” |

He was waiting for it. The thing that would set him off. Something Justin said, some trite tradition they were expected to uphold..... He waited for the thing that would wake him up. Make this real. The sudden realization of what he was doing. He didn't want to be afraid...it was the last thing he wanted. But he expected it. He expected to be terrified of promising Justin the one thing he'd never given anyone. Himself. But somehow, he wasn't only making Justin happy anymore.

Brian Kinney did not celebrate birthdays. Justin had finally learned to accept this. So when Brian casually announced that they were going out for dinner the Friday that happened to be Justin's birthday, he didn't think much of it. That night, Justin received the most amazing blow-job of his life. He was still recovering when Brian offered him a condom before rolling over onto his stomach. And later, when Justin traipsed out into the kitchen and spotted the clearly expensive set of paints on the counter, he laughed, because Brian was just so fucking far past fooling anyone anymore. |

“Can you believe this is actually happening? The first African-American president. What an accomplishment!” “I’ve heard. Hey I believe in celebrating accomplishments. Wanna’ fuck?” “I want to see the rest of the Balls. I love watching them dance together. They seem happy. It’s romantic. I want to always remember this.” Suddenly Brian thought about another time, another dance, where the two partners were so much in love. “Forget that – I’m going to Babylon. When you’ve seen one dance you’ve seen them all. I’m tired of watching it.” With that Brian ran out the door and Justin had no idea why. |

Despite everything going on, Debbie had insisted they all come for Sunday dinner, and when she used that tone no one was brave enough to defy her. Even Ted showed up although neither he nor Emmett were smiling.
Instead of the usual mismatched plates and pasta, they found an elaborately set table and a feast of Italian delights.
“Hey, Deb you do know Stockwell is still kicking our ass in the polls?” Brian asked as he sat down.
“Oh honey,” Debbie gently rebuked as she passed him the wine, “haven’t you learned by now that every day is worth celebrating?” |
