Oh Marvelous: A Marvel Universe Game [06 Jan 2010|03:11am] Oh Marvelous: A Marvel RPG "Did you ever have one of those lives?" You inhabit a fantastical universe where anything can happen. Super powered beings exist, and living a sane life is no easy feat for anyone. In such an extraordinary world, an average day can be ruined by the strangest of threats; be it viral zombies, megalomaniacal criminals or assassination attempts. All just part of a normal day in a very abnormal world. You don’t even glance up at the shrill whine of sirens or the roar of a giant monster a few blocks over. In the sky above a caped character is flying towards the fray; a member of some super hero team or perhaps a lone vigilante. Maybe the monster is a mythical creature or an invading alien or a minion of the latest super villain. A van is hurled down the street followed by another angry howl but you go casually about your business- buy your newspaper, sip your latte- and mutter cynically to yourself, "oh_marvelous." Oh Marvelous is an age 18+, social, thread based, third person, AU Marvel RPG played in real time (quite a mouthful). The game is set in present day. Although the game is New York centered, action takes place in locations all over the world. Plot is primarily player driven with occasional inclusive plots that affect the entire game. This game does not follow any set timeline or particular Marvel continuity. The year is 1976, and the marauders have entered their sixth year. There has been talk in pureblood families of a 'Dark Lord', a man who's sole interest is purifying the wizarding world of muggles and muggleborns. He has enlisted the help of Hogwarts students, staff, and men living in Hogsmeade. With these minions, Lord Voldemort has already attacked many muggleborns, blood traitors, and Hogwarts. With the increasing attacks on Hogwarts, Headmaster Dumbledore has been given few options. After a muggleborn's death, the Headmaster has decided to lock the school, while letting the students outdoors for select hours of the day. The Ministry of Magic has sent Hogwarts six aurors to help protect students and screen mail. No one gets in, and no one gets out. For now, Hogwarts has been at a lull - but how long will it last? Many students believe the attacks are coming from within Hogwarts, and fear the worst. What are the students to do? Headmaster Dumbledore has come up with the only possibly solution - he needs help. He needs a group of trusted people to fight back, and so begins the Order of the Phoenix. Slowly but surely these young witches and wizards will be trained to fight and protect themselves. Twixt Heaven and Hell The RPG MODS RPG OOC Rules Apply Character Directory Hunters Gathering Place The Devil’s on the Loose. Whoa, thought it was a nightmare, but no such luck. Heaven and Hell are at war and neither side is looking very promising for the human race. Demons are… well… demons. Most angels are self righteous, manipulative pricks. Where does that leave us? Welcome to the world of Hunters, celestial beings, fiends, unclean spirits and a black ’67 Chevy Impala. There’s a little Apocalypse going on, and ya’ll are invited. God is missing from heaven and the kids decided to throw a hell of a party while he’s away. So where is He, and why isn’t he interceding? Or is he? ”Twixt Heaven and Hell” is a Supernatural RP based on the 5th season of the series, up to episode "Changing Channels", 5.8 with a limited number of players allowed. The show characters are expected to be portrayed as Cannon. No Slash or any other non-cannon style pairings allowed among the show’s scripted players. Original characters are allowed and their sexuality is totally up to the players. This will be an adult game. It allows sexual situations, swearing, and descriptive violence.
