Right, so, good. Glad to see that everyone's having such a good time this week. Yay sex, amirite?

But I was kind of hoping also we could have a serious conversation as a community. Because we are a community, right? We're not just a bunch of people gathering here to go our own ways, we're in this together and we need to work together to get things done. At least, that was what I thought when I agreed to come here.

So. Ruby said something about it last week, and I'm going to bring it up again this week. We have several projects ongoing, right? What's left with the medical center? If I'm right we have our first babies arriving in about two weeks and we need to be ready for that.

Also, someone was working on a sewer system, right? Were they sent home? Not glamorous work but I'm definitely willing to help with that.

What else? What else do we need done? What do we need to make this island the kind of place we all want to live?

I agree. I was more meaning, we are going to need a lot if everyone is keeping their babies that are pregnant now. We will need more cloth, and the right kind. You can carve knitting needles, I've seen wooden ones. I'm working on learning to wittle currently. If you could show me what the needles need to look like, I can try to make you some? I never learned to knit and didn't see much of my grans as a kid.

That's something I'm working on. When women come for their first visit at the clinic, I'm getting that information. Who's keeping their babies, who is giving them to Arva. Once we know that, we can estimate what we need in the way of diapers.

I'd be happy to show you what they need to look like! I've seen pictures of wooden knitting needles, I'm sure they're just as easy to use as the metal ones.
