Something wicked this way comes...
So, after talking with the mods I got the go-ahead to start a new team of Defenders and am looking for interested heroes!
After receiving a terrifying vision of doom and horror- Dr Strange sets out to recruit a team of heroes to combat an impending threat that few even knows exists. Their purpose? To track down the location of the Darkhold- a tome of ancient evil reminiscent of the Necronomicon. Their journey will pit them against Vampire clans, mad cultists, and a force of ancient mind-blasting evil.The adventure will take the heroes across the world to exotic locales, perhaps even back in time. In the process, they'll be forced to learn more about each other than they'd like- and will have to face their own greatest fears. Should they succeed, few will ever know what they did. Should they fail, the world will succumb to darkness and shadow.
I'm thinking a smallish team of 3-4 and Strange is in order. Anyone interested leave a paragraph about why your character would make a good addition to the story. Feel free to include any elements of your character's backstory you might want to weave into the quest, or some important character development points you want to take place. Obviously supernatural or magical characters are a natural fit, but outsiders are welcome too- offering perspective and variety to such an otherworldly tale.
Strange doesn't need to know your character to be considered, as he'll see each of the team members in his vision and will track them down himself, but they are free to know him if you prefer. I'm sort of envisioning a Justice League Dark vibe, or any of the DC plots involving the Bible of Crime. Any moody dark David Fincher film is another inspiration.
I'll leave the thread open a week for applications, and then I'll post the team list a few days after. Feel free to ask questions or whatever here and I'll get back to you.
