Who: Adrian Knight & Lyri Alicornia
When: Sunday, March 11th, 2012; Afternoon
Where: Hospital Wing; Lyri's private hospital room
What: Adrian comes to visit the unicorn.
Open: Nope.
Rating: Low.
Adrian had been visiting Lyri on the regular, since the attack. Partly because he felt responsible for her, having saved her. Mostly it was because he liked her. She was beautiful and bright and always so creative. But it seemed that since the attack had happened a spark had gone out. She wasn't Lyri. And Adrian wanted her to be Lyri again. He was a sucker for a damsel in distress, and Lyri was certainly one of those at the moment. Perhaps he couldn't actually fix what was ailing her, but that didn't mean the knight wouldn't try. As he approached the hospital room, he passed her family, who seemed particularly distressed, stopping to talk to them and the doctor with them, he learned she had been refusing to leave the room she was in and still wouldn't speak. The doctors looked at Adrian hopefully.
"She seems to respond to you," the older man told him softly. "And after a trauma she has endured she might have latched onto you as the one who protected her, who saved her life." Adrian nodded as he listened. Just what he really needed, another girl to look up to him who saw him as a guardian, the one who could protect them from the horrors of the world. Another girl he could let down eventually when he couldn't be her saviour. But Adrian found he didn't want to tell the doctor he couldn't be that for Lyri, that he already had two girls he had to look out for. And as her mother took his hands and cried, he could only assure them he would do his best. And still Tiffani's face haunted him, the beautiful blonde mermaid he had left to rush to his princesses' side. He had stopped for Lyri, unable to leave her to die, but he had left Tiffani. What was the difference? Still he had no answer to this question that haunted him.
He entered Lyri's hospital room, full of colorful balloons and flowers from all the well wishers. Smiling at the silent unicorn he knocked on the door as he stood in the doorway to get her attention. When she didn't look over, he announced his presence by speaking."Mind if I come in, Lyri?" He didn't wait for an answer as he came in and sat beside the unicorn in a chair next to her bed. His dark eyes took in how pale she was, even more so then normal, the bags under her eyes, and how...un Lyri-like she looked. It pulled at his heart.
"How are you Lyri?" he asked, not sure if she would answer him.
