It wasn't that Lyri was saying anything different then what Nacola or Roxy had tried to tell him, but for some reason hearing it from her, made him think about it more. "No, she wasn't," he said softly. "I told her to stay down, play dead. They wouldn't bother with someone already dead." He of course had no idea what she had done after her had given her those instructions. He had been too focused on finding Roxy and Nacola, and then Aerinn.
But he couldn't leave someone injured. Or being hurt. And that was why he had stopped to help Lyri. She needed him. Tiffani had been alright when he left her. He smiled at Lyri and squeezed her hand again.
"You're right," he said softly. "I shouldn't let it bother me. I did what I had to do."
