HOTH | Day 5 (Evening)

The vibe is definitely more high school basement dance party than it is night club (or dance class), but hey, it's Delerth, and it's Hoth, so even if he's just thrown some colorful scarves over the lamp on the front desk, Hugh's decided that he's sick of his room and sick of the cold so on Night Five, it's an Impromptu Dance Party in the Lobby of Butler Hall.

If you're close enough to talk to Hugh regularly, he definitely told you about this and told you to invite people. He might have stuck notes on the bathroom doors mid-afternoon. Otherwise, anyone who wanders through is welcome to join. He doesn't have refreshments of his own, sorry, but if you bring drinks - you are his new favorite person. He'll have pushed whatever furniture there is out of the way to create a semi-decent dance floor. Hugh loves dancing. It's one of his major ways to relax, so he's kind of self-care-ing here, but at least a couple of people encouraged him to do it, so he hopes it'll help other people relax too.

As for the music? Well, it's all from Hugh's laptop - at least initially. His iTunes library stops around Oct. 2018 which was the last time he was home, and it swings heavily towards musicals and pop including stuff from the 80s, 90s, and a lot of dance-pop remix stuff. His tendency will be to queue up stuff that has a good dance beat and makes him happy (I'm not gonna make a playlist specific for this, but have a supremely unorganized Hugh playlist if you want an idea) There will be some Imagine Dragons thanks to Rey, and he's open to other things, you just have to bring it, and possibly the device to play it on.

The only real goal is to keep warm by dancing, spend time outside your dorm room, and enjoy some tunes.

Stephen is amused by this discussion. "If you want to have your mind really blown away, before I became a sorcerer, I was always clean shaven. Or maybe that doesn't count?" He thinks about the other player (it was with Loki, writing a log about it, not finished yet lol) and smirks. "I got it pretty bad. Next time I'll play smarter. In any case, I'm curious about my alternative selves in other universes. What was I like in yours?" He hopes it's not as bad as his What If Self that destroyed an entire universe.

Ben actually thinks this over. "Yeah, I don't know if the pact got enacted once people became all superhero-y. I feel like it must be that. If you are certain superheroes within a certain age, here is your facial hair pact."

That earns another raised eyebrow. "Pretty bad makes it sound like more than just a shave," he points out before shrugging. "Y'know..." He does artistic 'sorcerer' fingers. "Sorcerer Supreme, Master of the Mystic Arts. If there's weird other dimensiony magic, you're- he's there, helping. Or coming up with plans to help or getting groups together to help. He's the village doctor."

Stephen shrugs off Ben's observation. "We both got our jabs in, I guess." But he's more interested in this alternative self conversation. "Oh c'mon. That sounds exactly what I do in my universe. Tell me something juicy. Something he does that I don't."

Ben shrugs. "Sometimes that's how it is. Or the bigger points, y'know? It seems like the multiverse has certain points that it doesn't deviate massively from, just shifting relationships and timelines. But also there's so many players in my universe that have been going for a long time, it's hard to keep track of everything. I don't even know if mine has been up to space, but..." Another shrug as he throws his hands up in the air. "Have you ever been possessed by the spirit of your dead dog?"

Ben waves hand. "See? That's how weird our lives are in general. I ask that question and the thing you focus in on is the fact that you have a dog. Don't the possession part, not the whole fact that the dog's spirit is still around part, nope, it's the actually having a dog part." A frown. "Which also is the calmest way to ask it, really. I mean, the whole dramatic speech seems to have cooled down a bit, but those first meetings it would be like: 'By the Tomes of the Tarrask! Verily hath you implied I doth have a dog!'"

(lol, I was getting there. XD XD XD I got sucked down the rabbit hole of reading the few comics Ben's crossed over with Strange.)

"Basset hound... I think." *gestures at head* "Y'know, the ones with the long ears, but short legs. And he talks."

*shrugs* "Yeah, it's pretty bad, but also maybe how the spells happen? That it isn't just-" *makes opening a portal gesture* "-but more..." *does movement again* "... by the Orbs of Oogie Boogie, I banish thee to the other realm. It usually comes with a spell. Except for, oh shoot, what it is? Well, there's blessing of Vishanti, but then also the Hoary Hosts of Hoggoth get mentioned so much that I think it might be a wizarding swear..."
