Spectators - Montrose

Gabi arrives early to settle into the Montrose box. Considering temps are 0C, she brings plenty of tea, cocoa, and coffee along with hot snacks. She and the children are bundled up in Montrose colours to stay warm and she's more nervous than she has been thus far. She knows what this match means to Merc.

She's got plenty of cheese bread, pastels, and brigadeiros to keep the team family fed and doggie treats for the pups that are part of Montrose too. (Do we have 3? 4? team dogs now?)

She is on her feet screaming in joy when Montrose wins and it is a good thing that Theo has baby earmuffs on.

Merc is very intensely watching the match because of the stakes but when things are a bit calmer, they have a lead and the snitch is still MIA, he'll come sit with his family and share snacks and let his kids excitedly chatter and ask him questions.

Actually, he realizes this is pretty perfect. Sitting with his family all around him, snacking on his wife's best snacks, and watching his team pull ahead of their big rivals on the pitch. A year or two ago this would've seemed like a far off dream.

Before he leaves to go back to the staff part, it's time for another round of good luck kisses and cuddles. Can never have enough of those and honestly he already feels lucky.

Minerva McGonagall and her four seventh year. She has Fraser and Jupiter take the students over to Portree and the BiL box, so she can "visit with my grand-nieces and their new dog-friend."

She'll also chat with anyone in the box. As long as the students are not present, she's a firm Montrose supporter.

Cheese bread! Might not be the same as gougère but still pretty darn yummy.

She's nervous/excited for Montrose, which is an interesting combo with wanting Alasdair to do well... sorry, Coach, there'll probably be alternating cheering for Montrose and her boyfriend (but not Portree #sorrynotsorryPortree).

Ada'd also be happy to entertain the kids/keep them occupied if needed

Spectators - Montrose reserve bench

Cho's watching from the bench. She's actually fairly quiet for the most part; her reactions are more physical than verbal—though she does swear audibly when Kal gets ejected. And when Lennox grabs the Snitch, she jumps to her feet and screams, bouncing up and down and hugging whoever has the misfortune of being nearest.

Peggy is in the Portree box watching the match closely with the other members of her family who are present. In particular she's keeping an eye on her father.

If Fraser comes up, she'll definitely want to talk to him. And probably Alec.

She's disappointed at the loss but gracious about it.

Alec is here! Portree colours used as an accent somewhere in his outfit while still looking very respectable, and he's hoping they win this. He still doesn't know what to make of some of the personnel or roster changes but that's not his to worry about. At least it should be an exciting match.

He sits with Peggy and is particularly watching their new additions to see how things go there.

The result is disappointing, he won't lie. :/ But it is what it is. There will be more chances to take out Montrose. And a whole Neep.

Graham and Agnes are both here! Agnes wants to see her new favorite player play and has brought along her WADA friends.

They were all thrilled to get to sing the Hogwarts Anthem, and did so robustly and with five part harmony and stuff.

Graham has more book people in, and makes a point to introduce Alec to Des Parkin and his wife.

He's sorry when the game is lost, but it did come down to the snitch. If any reporters ask, "Portree will likely meet Montrose three or four more times. It's early yet to come to any conclusions. Wasn't it a thrilling game though? This is why after all this time I still have the best job in Britain."

Mel is up in the owner's box to watch the game with family and friends. He visibly tears up when Laddie plays Flower of Scotland.

He complains bitterly when Kal is ejected for Cloving.

When Lennox goes for the snitch, he cheers loudly and does a little happy dance with fist pumping when Lennox gets it.

Ernie, dressed in his Montrose colors, spent 75% of the match watching and 25% of the match doing math in his notebook. He's got the play-by-play streaming across his glasses, so you're going to have to nudge him before you want to talk to him!

He is so excited for the win that it takes him a couple of minutes to find and gather all the parchment that goes flying.

Fraser is there as well, eating cheese bread and enjoying the camaraderie. Jupiter sticks to Una, but does make the rounds and greets everyone. She makes a special point to greet Ernie, who doesn't always make the games.

Fraser halfheartedly defends his ref, but blames it on the wiley Scrimegoer drawing it. "She'll learn. We should've tried 'attempting to draw fouls' when we had her in practice."

Since Des owns the stadiums (effectively), we always assumed he sat with the hoi-polloi out of desire to share their experience and buy the expensive, watered-down beer he had his people sell.

He's welcome in either owners box, and indeed, if he's there and doesn't visit both, it's sort of a slight an eccentricity.

The stadium is full, it's a close game without serious injuries, and people are buying beer and team tartan tat. The owners on both sides are happy.

Florrie is watching anxiously, grimacing when Angus is injured and worried that he's going to spiral, and is so relieved when he doesn't.

While she's not as sweary as Maggie, she is pretty bothered when Kal gets ejected. "Oh COME ON!"

During the dead ball period following one of the fouls, Lefty tries out his new trick. Quickly strapping on his special boots, he flies up and over the fans, to the ring around the pitch. He flies slower and slower and eventually stalls and stops vertically, a tricky but not impossible move.

Then he drops his broom. He hangs there, standing in mid-air as people gasp, and he looks down, then left and right, and begins flapping his mascot wings. Instead of falling, he looks like he's flying.

After a moment he stops flapping and begins gliding, his wings going back and forth and his legs carrying him in wide, slow circles. He goes up, he goes down, and it totally distracts from the lack-of-play on the field.

He doesn't press his luck, but slowly drops down low enough to get his broom back and fly again.

It was a good first outing for the Broom-Skates.

Cousins and ex-captains and forever friendly rivals Catriona McCormack and Hamish MacFarlan arrived at the same time, and chatted pleasantly until they parted ways to go to the Portree and Montrose boxes, respectively. (I suppose Hamish would also eventually go to the BIL box since he's technically in charge of that?)

Catriona had an entourage of her son and other Weird Sisters (possibly not all, but definitely Kirley, Myron and Gideon).

Cat and Kirley get pretty into it and the whole group are visibly disappointed about the outcome. Catriona discusses going down to see Meaghan but Kirley says she'll probably already be gone, so they don't.
