Whizz Hard Book Launch
Who: Anyone related to Scottish Quid/Affairs/Press/Books in general (so pretty much all of you if you want) and all current and past members of both teams (NPCs welcome!)
What: The release of the Golden Neep companion book
When: March 16th 8pm
Where: Portree and Montrose clubhouses
Warnings: Language maybe? Drinking

This year marks the 400th anniversary of the BIL's most exciting rivalry: The Golden Neep! In honour of it, Whizz Hard books is proud to present a companion book to their world famous 'Quidditch Through the Ages'.

WELCOME TO THE RELEASE OF:

Neep themed decorations are throughout the cocktail party. Including intricately carved neeps, and hors d’ouevres served in small carved out neep bowls.

At one table on each of the Montrose and Portree sides of the party is a long table set up with the book of the hour! There are even special edition versions in Montrose or Portree colours available tonight. Everyone who has prepurchased their book will get it in a bag of their choice. Options: Montrose, Portree, Golden Neep (for those who like to remain neutral) designs.

If you’d like...try to get it signed by your favourite quidditcher, you’re likely to find them around here somewhere!

The Book of the Hour

Each side has a party!

Management offices on both sides are locked and heavily warded to prevent spies (we got your back, Fergus) from sneaking around. But the main areas of the trophies, historical rooms, and social rooms and lounge are all open to the guests.

Both sides have shined their trophies and old players have even lent their individual ones to buff up the display. On each side there are articles framed on the walls at various places, showcasing historic or significant victories or moment and each has even set up a historical showroom for it to show the uniforms over the years too. It’s a chance for both teams to show off their long history as BIL clubs and their numerous successes.

Just for tonight a dedicated floo connection has been set up between the two parties connecting the main rooms to allow people to move freely between each side. The floo will not allow you to go elsewhere and there isn’t even a requirement to name your destination, though if you’d like to leave please use the regular floo available around the corner.

It's tempting to say 'Oh, like an orgasm.' Only tempting.

And while she still suspects that some part of her friend fancies the man in front of her (how could she not?), at least she has the wisdom to avoid mentioning that, as well.

"Did the breaker say this... phase should be gone by now?" This was... a giant fucking mess.

Mel shrugged. "I thought it was all over when we left Mungo's. I've been restless and sleeping a bit poorly but I've had other things going on. Still sorting out things at the family home, work, everything else. It hasn't been to the point where I thought anything of it. At least not for me. Not until Sunday."

Problems, problems. She was out of empathy for the Macmillan clan today.

She gives a little sigh, takes another drink, and repeats, "What did the curse-breakers say?"

Mel resists the impulse to roll his eyes. Didn't he just say that? "That was after talking to Weasley. Weasley and the healers both said we were fine. That there was nothing more expected and nothing more to do or be done--at least that was what they said to me. You'd have to ask Ainsley if they said something else to her."

"And you're positive this isn't just the two of you wanting to shag like nifflers? That whole 'forbidden' element can turn folks mental."

She had to ask.

For medical records.

"I'm positive."

Because honestly, the interest he'd had? The bewitched look on her face when she'd been leaning in to kiss him had put him completely off the idea.

"Alright." Did she believe him? Not entirely. But, fine, she'd concede for now.

Apparently she'd need to have a chat with Ainsley. And a field trip.

She crossed her arms again, holding the drink in a hand below an elbow, and looked back to Mel. "Anything else you haven't shared?"

Mel shook his head. "Not about this. Haven't had a chance to see Weasley again myself or go back to Mungo's. So that's all there is."

"Not to do with your medical responsibilities, no. And unless you've got any more questions, I'll leave you to enjoy that--" Mel pointed at the drink he'd supplied her with and was pretty sure she was going to slam in a moment "--and be on my way."

With a shake of her head, Maggie waved her wand and the door opened. "Cheers, for updating me. I'll take care of it. And close the door behind you, yeah?"

"You're welcome. And good luck."

Mel figured both of them were going to need it--especially if he meant to avoid Ainsley at this party.

She nodded and held the drink up, and as soon as he was through the door, she did indeed tip her head back to knock it down in one go.

After a few minutes of seething quiet reflection, she stalked off in search of a particular reserve keeper.

Ada Ol– wait, no, that's not right.

Ainsley Galbraith.

That's better.
