"It would have been, so I appreciate it. I've never much been a fan of losing" —he snorts a laugh at that, because what Quidditcher is?— "but if it's going to happen, I'd rather it be honest."

Oliver gestures to Jason's sling again, though this time for a different reason. "And while I have the chance...I've got to say I've been reading some interesting things about you. On both sides of the fence." Because, 'shockingly', the issue of Muggleborn rights and other related issues was controversial. "But for my part, I'm glad someone's spoken up, and if I can ever throw my hat in to help in some way, just say the word."

Jason knows that one. To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift. Which is why he would always put it all on the line. The only ways losing was every acceptable was if you came by it honestly. Still the other outcome was better.

"Well, sometimes you find yourself in a place where to say nothing is worse. I have no illusion that I've made some enemies, but I think through it all I've found more allies." He didn't fancy himself an activist, but he did have a platform. "Part of what happens next, also depends on how the Scottish office business plays out. You might have some stakes in that too."

Oliver shrugs. "Sitting and doing or saying nothing can make you just as many enemies. Better to do, I figure."

His eyes shift toward the stands, where he knows his dad probably still is, caught up in some conversation or another. Sometimes he wonders how the man can stand all that talking, and rehashing the same thing for new people—but that was why he was the Quidditch player, and everything he'd ever done otherwise had been behind the scenes. "Aye, if Da ends up in office, it'll have an effect. But honestly? Doesn't change what I will or won't do for the things I think are right. Just might have to go about them a different way."

"No, you're right. But it might give what you do more of a platform, and a louder voice." Jason wasn't sure if he would on the board of a charity if he wasn't a quidditch player. He would probably be involved in the movement, but the way this season had played it out, it felt more personal.

"Mostly right now, this -" he motioned toward his sling, "And Uplift are getting off the ground with focused brain power and money. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the season plays out for sure."

Oliver nods. He doesn't plan on championing any platform himself—as its face, anyway—but it would change how those he supports had to go about things. "I'm definitely interested to see how things go. I'm not sure how I could do anything to contribute, at this stage, but like I said, let me know if I can."

He tugs at the bandages on his hand, where it's starting to itch fiercely. It's a sign things are healing up, but Merlin is it irritating. "Maybe after the hand is back to normal. Probably won't fancy replying to any owls for a few days." He chuckles again.

"I will keep that in mind." He claps Oliver on the shoulder with his good arm. "Rest, recover, and prepare to play another day. But for now? Go enjoy, celebrate, you have certainly earned it!"

"You, too," Oliver says with a grin. It sobers into something more serious as he adds, "And pass along mine and the team's well wishes for a speedy recovery to Maddock, if you will? That was a nasty hit, but I hope they get him patched up and back on the pitch soon. You three were a force to be reckoned with, for sure."

"Well, there is something to said about Eagle Magpies. Double birds." He grins. "I will pass it along. Thanks."
