Starting out good! Maddock isn't worrying as much about leading this time because that's Micah and Jason's job. But he's still thinking about formations though, and getting in to test Keeper Wood and getting a couple of shots in. Not bad. Maddock misses his tricks though.

Chaser set

Jason sets them up into a good grove. Early in the match he isn't sure exactly which version of United they are playing, but he is focused to the game.

Despite whatever noise Hamish MacFarlane said, Jason is out in form. And he still makes neon pink look good. The kit is all Montrose, the accessories, certainly pack a punch and a bit of color. (Personally Jason is eager to see what Hawksworth has to bring. They might both be muggleborns, but they are fierce competitors on the pitch.)

Today is all about working together, setting up his fellow chasers and trying to block any blocking or interference from United. Although Jason quickly realizes that they are going to have to fight for the match today.

Going to be a tough match, but still they got this. Jason is setting him and Roger up, and they are fighting for that early lead!!

If they can figure out which Puddlemere they're facing and keep up their good teamwork, they have this in the bag.

Ro listens to any direction Jason gives and handles passes and intercepts well. Taking any shots fed to him and actually enjoying flying against Wood.

He'll run interference to keep bludgers away from the other two and set up shots for them both (while he's still in play at least).

They got this. Even as United starts changing up their game a little. Jason keeps them focused on staying as a unit and supporting each other. It all is going well until it's not.

Micah is in his element - he's just in a really good mood, ready to play some Quidditch! He's happy -- until Roger gets ejected, and then he's a little concerned. Game face still on, though. Ready to block all the shots.

First professional match as a starter, and Oliver has a stony gameface on today. The Magpies are the top team, they're undefeated so far for the season, and their own Keeper has the top blocking percentage of any starting Keeper. So no pressure at all.

He feels pretty good at the start. He lets in some goals that he would have preferred to save, but he's starting to get a good feel for the way this team works.

That is, until a particularly fierce throw from Davies—that Oliver saves, just barely—sends pain lancing through his hand and all the way up his arm. He manages to drop the Quaffle into his other hand before losing it entirely. It's quickly clear that his dominant hand is going to be no good to him for the rest of the match. Shit.

Oliver makes a signal to his captain, and he can see that their play immediately gets rougher, while Oliver is just doing everything he can to defend and not let on that he's got an issue. The last thing he needs is for the Magpies to start favouring his left side when they realise.

It's a relief when Davies gets ejected. (Though, really, refs? He sees enough from his end of the pitch to know they've got some crazy ones today.)

80 points past him, and now Montrose is down a chaser. They could still do this.

Lennox is straight up into the air, but instead of going right to his usual height to circulate, he takes slow laps of the pitch, circling higher and higher in a spiral formation until he gets there, looking for a potential early snitch before he's ready.

Bloody hell, though, the match is getting rough. He's lost count of the number of bludgers sent his way in the first hour or so alone, and United - not usually the roughest of teams - seem to be getting more fouls than usual called at this kind of pace. What are they, the Falcons?

By the time Roger is ejected, he almost stops his broom in midair in surprise, because that guy? What the fuck does the ref think he's doing?

He really didn't mean to damage Oliver's hand with that shot, but Puddlemere's rough play and a couple of their fouls got him riled up. So much so that he's throwing out insults today when normally he wouldn't. But he's not ranting, or even yelling, so he really doesn't expect the whistle to blow and when he's given an ejection over a warning his temper snaps.

"BLATHERING?!" the word was an explosive shout aimed directly at the Ref. "You bloody twmffat!!" Virtually standing on his broom, he's right in the Ref's face for a moment -why the heck not, he's already been ejected, right? "I feel bad for your partner, stuck with a pric pwdin like you."

Diving for the ground he heads straight into the locker room upon landing and continues to spew a tirade of angry Welsh and French while he grabs a quick shower. Apparating up to the Montrose box shortly after.

Jason might be privately impressed with that language, but he's not going to get into it, less the ref gets power hungry. Instead he looks toward Maddock, ready to go.

Lex is close enough to hear this and is doing her best not to fall of her broom laughing.

SO MUCH LOVE, Roger.
