The whole match had just felt off, but all the same, Maddie was happy with how it had turned out. She was all smiles and getting caught up in the general Portree enthusiasm when she saw Fergus and Rhonna with their mum, and she broke out into an even wider grin.

"Hello, mini-MacFarlanes," she called as she approached, but then she came around and saw Lorna's expression, and her own dimmed a bit. Maddie glanced between kids and mum and tempered her question with their presence in mind. "What is it?"

Fergus was ELATED to see Maddie and basically tackle / crowd bludgered her himself when she got closer. "I KNEW YOU COULD IT!" Please give the little Fergus all the hugs.

Rhonna seemed to perk up a bit too at seeing Maddie and being distracted easily, even if she still clung onto Mum. "Owen's in the med tent. Apparently injuries extend to the stands now," she explained to Maddie. "Could you watch them?" Lorna asked and moved to hand Rhonna over to Maddie. "You congratulate Maddie on her good job!"

"I had to impress my biggest fan!" Maddie said, bending just enough to give the boy a big hug. When she looked up for Lorna's answer, she kept one hand resting on his shoulder. "Sure, I'd love to celebrate with my favourite future Quidditchers."

She took over Rhonna duties, and she could tell from the way the little girl curled herself up on her shoulder that all was not entirely well. Maddie gave Lorna an encouraging smile, more for the kids than anything. "We'll be fine here. Might even run into some more friends and make a party out of it."

Lorna did offer a grin at that of her kids being Maddie's biggest fans. "Thanks Maddie." And she left when she was sure that Maddie was fine with both Fergus and Rhonna.

Fergus then proceeds to re-enact the WHOLE match pretending to be Maddie and show her how she played and how she caught the snitch.

Maddie watched in surprise, amazement, and more than a little pride at Fergus's show, reacting in all the appropriate place—which, honestly, wasn't difficult, because the kid had an eye for detail and a flair for conveying it. The match had utterly dragged for five and a half hours, and he somehow made it sound interesting.

She clapped when he was done, then gave him a rather mischievous grin. "There's only one problem. That story really needs a Snitch to tell it properly. And I happen to be holding one, you know." She tapped the end of Rhonna's nose with one finger, hoping to rouse the little girl, who'd obviously been upset by whatever was happening with her dad. "So you might need to tell that last bit again, and see if you can catch me." She took a playful step backwards.

Rhonna giggled at the tap on her nose, and giggled more when she realized what Maddie was talking about. "Imma SNITCH!" she yelled with victory hands in the air.

Fergus was quite eager to play seeker and recreate Maddie's victory and went to moved forward to catch Maddie as she stepped back.

Maddie was mindful of staying near where Lorna left them, and also of the crowds of people gathered at the base of the stadium, but otherwise she led Fergus on a merry chase to catch Rhonna as Maddie carted her around. The little girl was too big to really do much "flying," so Maddie carrying her was the best she could do.

Eventually, though, being on her broom for so long started to get the best of her, and she let Fergus catch up with her and bowl her over to the ground, all three of them giggling for their efforts.

The mini MacFarlanes were laughing and giggling like mad when they were all bowled over on the ground after playing seeker. Lorna smirked as she came back with Owen in tow. "What are you two doing?" she laughed.

"We're seeking, just like Maddie!!!" Fergus said very enthusiastically before both of them scrambled up off the ground to go run over to Owen.

Maddie was still laughing as she got up and dusted herself off, watching the kids as they ran off to their dad. She looked at Lorna and then back at him, then decided she'd ask what had happened next time she saw either of them at practice, rather than asking in front of the kids.

"It was a tough chase, too. They're already more than ready to trounce the Harpies for us next time." She smirked a little at that.

Owen smiled down at the kids as they came running at him, but really hated the way he he had to put up a staying hand to keep them from slamming into his legs, although he braced himself in case it didn't work. Little Fergus seemed to cotton on before his sister, and he reached out and pulled her back by the shoulder to stop her. "All righ', da?"

He was too young for a look so serious, but Owen felt the tug of something like pride at his heart. "Be right as rain in no time," he said, reaching down slowly to ruffle his son's hair. "Did you see Miss Maddie catch the Snitch?"

He flashed the Seeker a grateful smile as Rhonna began her version of events (which may have involved a unicorn and possibly no less than five actual harpies, and twelve bludgers the size of the moon), while Fergus leaned thoughtfully against his leg.

Maddie held back a laugh as the match got described again, this time with less insight, but far more colour. She nodded rather sagely when the little girl was done. "That's pretty much how it happened. The post-game was more fun, though. Fergus and Rhonna have far more energy than the Harpies did today. Giant Bludgers notwithstanding." She slightly raised an eyebrow at Owen, having pieced together a bit of what she'd seen, and what Rhonna had described, with his injury.

Not bothering to hide his amusement, Owen grinned down at Rhonna and then over at Maddie, his hand now resting against Fergus' back, who had watched her rendition with something akin to exasperation.

"Giant Bludgers not withstanding, indeed. Are you two planning on celebrating your win with the team?" He looked between Lorna and the Seeker; if that was the case, he was already coming up with child-minding alternatives he could explore this evening. He had every intention of minding what Maggie had said to the letter.

Owen was just leaving the med-tent- his movements a little slower than usual, and a slightly glazed over look in his eyes- when he saw Lorna coming through the crowd and in his direction. "We won?" He made a move like he wanted to reach out and pull her into his arms, but then winced and let his arms fall back to his sides. Confusion became evident on his face. "Where are the kids?"

Lorna frowned when she saw Owen coming out of the Med-Tent and also saw that wince. She felt like hitting someone, but her injured husband who saved their daughter's life was not the right subject of rage. "Tell me if this hurts," she said and moved in to wrap her arms around Owen's waist because hugging it out was a strong temptation too. "I'm going to wring Gwenog Jones' neck. I don't care if they played worse than the Cannons," she said and gave Owen a quick kiss. "Maddie has the kids."

"'S fine," he assured her, but couldn't quite keep the slur out of his voice. Owen managed to put his hands to her waist, and even a low, wry chuckle. "Doubt it was intentional. Just a wild swing made out of desperation." That was the pain potion talking, for sure. Maybe later he'd swing back to being infuriated. "How's Rhonna? She was pretty shaken up when I had to leave, but I didn't want to make things worse by taking her with me. I'm really sorry about that."

Lorna was even more careful when she heard that slur in his voice. She didn't care if it was intentional or not. It was still ridiculous to hit a bludger into the crowd. "She seemed alright, just a little sooky. And don't you apologize! You saved our daughter from getting crushed by a bludger, of course you needed to go to the med tent!"

As much as he wanted to argue to the contrary about his supposed heroics, Owen kept it to himself, as he did his own feeling of absolute terror in that moment. "Maggie said it's just some bruising and a couple of cracked ribs. She already saw to the latter, and sent me home with a jar of that noxious bruise paste and will be sending a list of things I can and can't do for the next few days. That includes picking anything up, unfortunately."

He pressed a small kiss to her forehead, and then leaned down to kiss her properly. "I'll be good as new in no time, promise. Should we go rescue Maddie? I need to congratulate her. You guys were great out there today."

Lorna nodded at the instructions from Maggie. "I'm the one that's supposed to deal with bludgers you know," she said because she didn't know what else to say really. "You should take a few days off then, and I mean it." And that meant no picking up the kids either.

She kissed him back though when he leaned in. "Probably a good idea," she said and reached for Owen's hand. "Well... Holyhead made it easy, I don't know what else to say."
