Angus is as cheery as usual in the locker rooms before the match. You know the drill, lots of banter, lots of joking around, hugs for everyone, especially the ladies because for once there are more women playing than men and that's neat! He's of course wearing his fancy crystal bling around his ear again and hoping not to need it.

It's not really the same with Lennox not playing, so he doesn't do as good a job with his minute of quiet centering as usual. But he still tries.

Today is a different lineup than usual, they aren't playing a captain or vicecaptain, no lead chaser, no star seeker. What's more it's the seeker's first pro match and temp captain's first time captaining anything. So Merc takes a minute in the locker room to find each of them.

For Maddock it's just a clap on the shoulder and encouraging smile. "You've got this, Cannon Destroyer. Now take advantage of that free muggle move while you can." How little he knows about what good advice the latter will be.

Kenna he stops by to encourage with a bright grin and tell her she's ready for this. Don't try anything too fancy, just go out and outfly your competition. If things get slow, try to trick your competition into feints or a few races. It's good practice for when the snitch makes an appearance.

He doesn't have much of a pep talk or speech, and he dislikes doing strategy talks right before a match except to do a quick reminder. But today it's pretty simple.

"As of this bloc you are the Number One ranked team in this league. Now go out there and show everyone why that is."

	Kenna was a good Quidditch player before this match. She had a relaxing previous day at home, a restful night's sleep, and a hearty breakfast. And she arrived with plenty of time to spare. While she was all smiles, she was actually extremely nervous because strange things happen sometimes and Chudley could manage to actually win a game once. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Lennox stops by, mostly to see Angus before the match but he pats Kenna on the shoulder on the way past. She knows by now he isn't a man of many words, but he briefly kneels to whisper something that's for her, one seeker to another, not for the rest of the team to hear.

"Everyone says that this is just Chudley, but you and I both know that doesn't necessarily apply to Seekers. Just remember that even with the entire reserve list out there, they're canny enough to give you what you need. And there's not a chance in a million years that Merc would put you out there as my reserve if you didn't have the ability to get out of a tight spot if needed."

He stands up, gives her a wink, and goes back to find Angus. He's in oddly cheerful mood today.

	Ada is cheerful but she's just as that lovely combo of nervous-excited. It might only be the Cannons but still... She takes a moment for herself to get her thoughts to a more calm state before interacting with the rest of the team. (Reply to this) (Parent)

Maddock is so nervous. He's not letting it show completely because he's being his usual excited but he probably keeps to himself more than usual, going over plays and things planned in practice.... yes this is the Cannons, but he's also acting Captain today and with his luck he'd screw it all up. He's gotten more than 150 the last two times he played but he also didn't have added responsibility.

	Even though it's the Cannons, Ro is still taking this match as seriously as any other. He fidgets with his gloves and boots and make sure to give himself a pep talk before venturing out of the locker room. Everyone will get a good luck hug before the match. (Reply to this) (Parent)

Lex is being exceptionally thorough with her pre-match routine. She's double and triple checked everything. It may be Chudley, but it's also her first match since being sidelined for six weeks, so she's somewhat nervous about playing and worried about getting injured.

She's not used to being nervous, especially against Chudley, and she's hoping once she'd up in the air that she'll settle down. After all, she managed to play 2 ten hour shifts in Merc's endurance training.

	Kal's pre-match ritual isn't any different from usual. She's stretching and silently going through strategy. She's pretty calm coming out of endurance training and going in a Cannons match, but there's still that little niggling worry that something could go wrong—thus keeping to ritual.
