All I want for Christmas is some peace until the new year.

I mean, I know that's too much to hope for, given that you lot are...you lot, but still. An old lady can dream, right?

Hedone brought this home last night. Her name is Helen.

One of my doves is missing. Coincidence? I think not.

I will never understand the urge to hold ourselves away from humanity.

Humans are teeming with life and vitality and the urge to change the world, or at least themselves. And when you present yourself to them, open-handed and filled with the potential to make that change --

they love you

and you are in love with them.

But I am half-human, made a god by will. And I have never, will never, forget this.

Nor the circumstances that made me thus.

What kind of milk is the best?

Whole milk.

2% milk.

Skim milk.

Lowfat milk.

Raw milk.

Lactose-free milk.

Soy milk.

Rice milk.

Almond milk.

Coconut milk.

Goat milk.

Other.

We're enjoying the mostly nice weather while it lasts, because sooner or later, it'll be all inside, all the time. And I don't know about the rest of you, but given that we lived underground for elevently billion years, I like the sun once in a while.

The shop smells like coffee, fresh-cut wood, and new paper. If you go towards the back, it smells like old paper, because that's where we keep the more expensive volumes. We were featuring a first-edition of Poe's works for Halloween, but now I'll have to think of something else for November. Suggestions encouraged!
