Yeah, for sure! It was like that where I came from, except "people" was really just the sum total of Clary and her mom. I guess here it's just Alec and Magnus, though, so that entire explanation really fell apart on me.

When I arrived I had a lot of friends here. And some of them have come and gone. People who had been dead
