Sunday Dinner!

It's Sunday Dinner time again (pretend this happened last week, I just didn't get to do the post because I was out of time)! Once again, Wanda is putting out a big meal for everyone, and will be up bright and early to start preparing things. However, unlike the first time, where she handled most of the cooking, she has opened it up to potluck style if anyone wants to contribute, but she will be making a good portion of the dishes herself, as well. Wanda's going to try and make new things everything week. This week, she's doing mostly an Italian theme for dinner. While Wanda is making Italian style dishes, others who want to contribute don't have to do so.

Dinner will be served starting at 5 PM. Wanda has been cooking most of the day in the kitchen. Food will be set up on a table in the dining room buffet style under warmers so people can help themselves. The table is set and there are plenty of drinks for people to choose from. Wanda has also set up to-go containers with the plates in case anyone has to just make a plate and run. Desert and coffee will also be set up on a side table for when people are done with their meals.

The menu is as follows:

STARTERS:

Cesar Salad

Homemade Ricotta

Antipasto Salad

Tuscan Tortellini Soup

There are cheese and crackers, and some chips and dips for pickier eaters, as well.

MAIN COURSES:

Baked Eggplant Parmesan

Primavera Stuffed Chicken

Veal Marsala

Spaghetti and Meatballs

Black Eyed Peas (Sam)

Lasagna (May)

DESERT

White Peach Tart

Frozen Chocolate-Chip Meringata

Chocolate-Bread Parfaits

There are also cookies and ice cream for any picky eaters.

So, as stated earlier this week, Wanda is going to be making an effort to organize Sunday dinners for everyone as an attempt to get to know each other, and as a way to bond. Though she is handling most of the cooking for this week, future weeks will be done in a potluck style. The menu for this week is mostly Eastern European style dishes, though there's other dishes made by either others who helped Wanda out with the cooking, and she made sure to have some basic things for picky eaters, like chicken nuggets and mac and cheese.

I will be trying to post of those of these every week, but the menu will be different, as after this week, the dinners will fall into more of a potluck style where people will be encouraged to make their own dishes to participate. For the initial first dinner, Wanda just wants to make everyone feel welcome by preparing most of the meal herself.
