Entry tags:complete, day 31, george lass, lucas scott

Who: Lucas Scott and Open
When: Day 31
What: Lucas goes for a swim.
Rating: Probably PG just to be safe.
Status: Complete.

Lucas had his hands in his pockets as he walked around the grounds of this strange new place he had ended up. He walked to the lake and looked at the water lapping. He decided it would be nice to go for a swim.

He walked back to his room and got a pair of swimming trunks. He changed into them and grabbed a towel. He walked to the swimming pool and put the towel down near the pool. He dived into the water and did a lap of the pool.

He laughed a little.

"OK, I promise I won't call you that ever. Have you been here long George?" he asked.

George laughed along with him.

"Not that long, almost a week. What about you, when did you get here?"

"I arrived here two days ago," he said. "How have you been adjusting?"

George smiled. "I'm fine. I've been bored, then I found something to do, then everyone else made friends but I was in bed with the flu, so...I didn't. This place is weird, but I don't think we're in danger, so..." She was digressing, so she stopped talking and shrugged. "Anyway, how are you dealing with it?"

"OK, I guess. Well as well as can be expected. Everyone I've met so far has been really nice. And you've made a friend now," he said softly, smiling warmly.

George smiled pleasantly, surprised by how nice Lucas actually seemed to be. You don't say that if you're not either stupidly nice, or a psychopath. George hoped on the first option.

"Eh...Thanks..." She said, too embarrassed to say anything else.

"You're welcome. I mean, a strange new place, it's good to have friends," he said softly.

"Totally. Yes, it is." George said, swallowing hard. Too damn nice, she wasn't used to this. Not even Mason, whom she considered a brother of sorts was that pleasant and nice throughout a whole conversation.

Taking a deep breath, George placed her elbow on the edge of the jacuzzi, supporting her face with her hand.

"So where - and when - did you come from?"

"I'm from Tree Hill North Carolina but I was going to college in Gilmore. And I'm from the year 2009. And you?" he asked. She seemed really nice and he was glad that he's met her.

"Seattle, 2008 when I was pulled." She told him, closing her eyes once the jet hit her lower back right where she had been feeling pressure. "You went to college, huh..." She said, smirking as she remembered her own college fiasco. Boy, what a bunch of bullshit.

"Yeah. I was studying literature. And I worked there as the basketball coach. You go to college?" he asked.

((OOC: It shows up for me. I'm sorry, though. Here it is.))

Literature? George wasn't expecting that. Was this guy the overly sensitive type, or was she just being mean and prejudiced? Maybe he was the cool type of literature buff. The one who can quote the right things at the right times...
And of course he played sports. Of course.

"I...tried." She said, looking around her moving only her eyes. "Didn't work out. I joined the workforce instead." Nice way of putting it.

"Well college isn't for everyone," he said. "Two of my friends never went to college and one of them now runs a multi-million dollar fashion line. As William Henley said 'I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul'."

George sighed faintly and looked at her feet, her toes popping up off the water.

"I'd like multi-millions..." She muttered, almost under her breath. "My mother was wrong. I think I would love to shove this you just told me in her face." She mused, smirking. Just to see what counter-argument Joy would come up with. Those were good times.

She nodded solemnly at his quoting. Right on time, too.

"Parents can often be wrong," he said quietly as he thought about his own father. Well his biological father anyway. He'd never been a real father to him.

"If my mom had listen to my dad I wouldn't be in this pool right now."

George looked at Lucas' expression changing, as hers did too. She assumed he meant his father wanted his mother to abort, and she didn't comply. Of course to each their own beliefs, but George knew how most stories like this went. She watched a lot of tv movies during Spring Break.

"Well, good thing that she didn't..." George muttered, trying to smile.

"So what do you work at?" he asked.

George smiled back.

"Public service sector, mostly." She answered. She was getting better and better at euphemisms for what she actually did. "And I work in a temp agency."

It was a good thing that she seemed to tolerate being wet quite well, otherwise she would be definitely looking a little weird and wrinkly right about now. Still, it was worth it, good company and bonding. She needed that after the boring and generally awful last few weeks.

"Would you mind if I joined you in there?" he asked.

"Unfortunately..." George said, frowning. She stood quiet looking at Lucas for a few seconds after his request, but soon enough she had snapped out of it. "Sure, yeah. Public place..."

He pulled himself out of the pool and into the jacuzzi. He leaned his arms back relaxing. There was a tattoo on his arm and a scar on his chest visible.

With his heart condition he knew he shouldn't strain himself too much in the pool. Especially since he hadn't found a way to get his heart medication here.

With the closer proximity he noticed more what she was wearing. The bikini was quite revealing and he did his best to keep his focus on her face.

George couldn't help but follow Lucas' movement out of the pool with her head, wearing a little smile at the corner of her mouth. She noticed his eyes shifting from her face briefly, and blushed.

She noticed a sort of scar on his chest, but didn't know whether to ask about it or not. After all, scars were quite usually permanent memories of bad things, and she didn't want this guy to associate her with them coming back. Instead, she smiled at him.

He noticed her blush and blushed himself a little. She had obviously noticed his eyes shifting from her face.

He smiled back at her.

"Well I guess the good thing about this place is that it's relaxing," he said.

George nodded, looking at nothing in particular. "Yeah. And except from the activities, you can do pretty much whatever the hell you want, too." Or at least that's what she'd been lead to believe. She splashed her toes on the water slowly.

"There are group activities?" he asked curiously.

"It's nice to be able to do whatever the hell you want," he said smiling softly at her.
