Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:armand, complete, day 17, kibeth, max evans, the doctor, violet baudelaire

Who: Armand, Max, Violet, Doctor, Kibeth (Posting order, if that's cool?)
Where: The spa
When: Early evening
What: Rescue time!
Rating: R, cause of it being Armand and all
Status: Complete

He was just waiting. Waiting for instructions on what to do. He had his victims, and he was ready to do what he was supposed to. Or... mostly. There was only one slight little hitch to that plan. Violet, no problem, he could sacrifice her or whatever was required any second he was asked to. He didn't have anything against her, but he didn't have any particular reason to want to save her, either.

However... the snag was with Max. The teenaged boy was intoxicating. Literally, actually. And Armand found himself unable to stop from occasionally biting the alien, draining a little bit more of his blood each time. The boy was very pale. He was coming close to breaking the rules, to killing. And, somehow, at the same time, he knew he would fight Dahak if necessary to protect the alien boy. An odd sort of dual way of feeling, but Armand didn't worry about that much.

The vampire sat comfortably on the alter he'd set up. He'd been there for hours, unmoving. Max lay draped in his lap, and Armand played softly with his hair. Together, they sat, and waited. Max was conscious, but barely. He would likely be in a delerium induced by lack of blood, and the bond that had so ensnared the vampire. Armand showed no indication of letting him go anytime soon, if ever.

There was the girl there, too, of course. Violet. Such an intruiging, logical little creature. He had spent quite awhile busy with her mind, and knew nearly everything there was to know about her. Suddenly, he spoke. "Come here, little girl." His fingers continued to play gently with the hair of the boy draped in his lap. "Come here, I want to give you a candy."

He reached into his pocket, and knowing full well that she was allergic to peppermint, he pulled one of the candy's out. He'd gotten this just for this purpose. And entering the mind of the child, he compelled her towards him, compelled her to take the candy.

They were in the spa…Max had wondered why this creature had brought him and the girl to the spa…it made no sense. Why didn’t the vampire just kill him and get it over with? In and out of conscientiousness, Max had seen an altar of some sort…what was an altar doing in the spa? Maybe it was a hallucination…he was so weak from blood loss and his soul felt ravaged by the things it had seen and experienced. He had seen and felt Armand’s past. He had enjoyed stalking ‘prey’ and killing people. He had reveled in orgiastic sex with women, men and boys and he had indulged in many other sexual depravities and vampiric cruelties. He was soul weary.

He lay across Armand’s lap like a tired and pampered lover. He couldn’t move because he was too weak and he hated Armand for this and he hated himself…he hated himself because the bonding had left something…it had left a fondness for the one he should hate…no, he did hate…wanted to hate…he hated that having his hair played with felt good. No, Max needed to get himself together…he needed time alone…why wouldn’t Armand leave him alone?

There was a girl there. If Max could only get his strength back, he could use his powers to get them both to safety and then alert everyone…get help. Maybe Ginny knew some spells to help with vampires. He needed to rest…needed Armand to stop drinking from him…stop bonding with him. Again, his mind wandered a bit, wondering what the vampire could possibly be getting from their bond…from seeing his life, his past, from feeling his feelings…then, his thoughts were interrupted when he heard Armand talking to the girl. He was calling her over to give her a candy? Why would he want to do that? From what Max had experienced in their bond, he didn’t seem the kindly, candy-giving type. Barely moving his head, his eyes squinting open, the alien boy warned, in barely a whisper, “No…”.

Violet had indeed come over and accepted the candy, to her mind it did not look much less smell like the very thing she was quite allergic too (that being peppermint). So she popped it into her mouth before going back to her little kit and her project. Armand had no idea she was working on a possible escape since the little project to the untrained eye looks like a simple child's toy.

Within a few minutes was when it happened, Violet being nailed by a full blown allergic reaction. A rash covered the younger girl's face as her nose began to run with mucus and the waves of nausea started to hit. Before too much longer she would pass out from not being able to breath and the effects once she was healed would linger for at least a day or two. But all Max and Armand would see right now was the rash and her runny nose along with her eyes starting to water. Her throat was starting to close up as she slumped to the floor with a thud, the kit making the fall a little less painful.

Once Violet comes to she would be covered with bruises and the rash, but the memories she would fight would linger longer.

There was very little that got past the Doctor. The moment the lizards had appeared on the planet he'd felt something strange in the air, and it hadn't taken him long at all to notice the curious footprints. On closer examination, he'd narrowed their origin down to an reptile source although not one commonly found on Earth. After finding nothing at all, the Doctor began to doubt himself; perhaps they weren't reptiles but amphibians. With that in mind he'd started to check out all of the watery areas he knew of around the planet.

He'd already covered the outdoors, so it was only as a last resort that he decided to peek into the spa before hading back to the TARDIS for further research. On trying the door he found it locked - perhaps many people would have simply walked away, but giving the Doctor a locked door was like giving a child a cookie they weren't allowed to eat. It was simply irresistible. Plus, he was looking for something that was clearly keen to hide itself, and he wasn't about to let a door stand in his way. Not when he had the ultimate lock-picking device on his person. After glancing up and down the corridor, the Doctor pulled out his sonic screwdriver and started manipulating the lock, the strange electronic sound not quite loud enough to cover the clicking of the locks as the door gave in and creaked open.

Not exactly expecting to find anything, the Doctor popped his head into the room and was unsurprisingly shocked by the strange sight that greeted him.

Kibeth had spent the past few days wandering the resort, mostly trying to avoid people until she had a better idea of what this place was about. She carried a small notebook with her in which she was carefully marking down every new thing she came across. If she was going to write a whole new Charter, it was best to get started.

Normally, she'd have walked right by a locked door, figuring whatever was on the other side could wait until she'd figured out some of the other mysteries of this place. But someone picking a locked door, now that was far more interesting. She crept up behind the lock picker, so as not to disturb him.

"Whatcha doing?" she asked, just as the lock gave and the man pushed the door open. She sucked in a breath as she took in the scene. "Better question" she said, her tone far more serious "What's going on here?"

The vampire was amused by the reaction of the girl whom he'd poisoned. Poisoned with a candy, how delightful. Sure, it was unethical, but then, he was the vampire Armand. Ethics weren't a big part of who he was. This would certainly make her easier to deal with. He made no move to help her, of course. He just watched with a detached sort of curiousity as she fell to the ground. It was a similar look that a child would give a spider as they pulled off their legs one by one.

"Well, that's that, then. I hope she doesn't die, Dahak wouldn't be happy." But he didn't sound all that concerned about it, not really. It was fun either way, if she died or lived. He pulled Max up so the alien boy was sitting on his lap, holding him securely against him. He was almost loving with him, really, as he looked into his eyes. "It may just be you and me very soon. I want to know how you've ensnared me like this. Tell me."

Whatever else he was going to say, he was cut off by an odd sound. The tumblers in the lock turning? But he had the only key. There was an odd electronic whine that his sensitive ears picked up. So he was looking right at the door when it opened, though he didn't stop holding Max or caressing him. The girl on the floor, he completely ignored.

"It's rude to come to a party without an invitation..."

Max could hear the girl gurgling, choking…he heard her fall over, but he couldn’t see her from where he was draped across Armand’s lap. He heard the vampire’s unconcerned remark about ‘hoping she doesn’t die’. Max wondered who this Dahak was? Did he have a hand in this? Then, Armand lifted him into a sitting position; he lay back against the vampire’s chest and abdomen as the creature caressed him. “I haven’t ensnared you…please let…”.

Armand continued his fondling and caressing, but his attention was divided. Max tried to follow the direction of his stare…the door…was he imagining things or did the door actually move?

"It's rude to come to a party without an invitation..."

It wasn’t a hallucination…Armand just issued a warning! Max wasn’t worried about himself…he looked down at the girl. “Please, Armand, let me help her”, he asked, “You’ve had your fun. No one has died yet…”, he tried to swallow, but it was so hard…his throat was so dry, “…Armand…I can heal her…please!”, he was begging now.

Max hated himself for having to beg Armand for anything, but this was a girl’s life. He hated Armand and would always hate him…he would forever wear an ugly scar on his soul because of the cursed vampire. Part of him hated himself too because through the bond they shared, he also…cared for Armand…it made his fists clench to admit it, but he did…and he was ashamed…it was one more thing to hate Armand for.

Violet had slumped to the floor in a heap. The only clues being the smell and the parts that had fallen out of her kit ranging from bites of wires to her favorite screwdriver. But the rash covering her could easily be seen along with the fact she was out cold, but her mind would remember everything. It was just her nature as a woman of science kicking in, plus the ironic fact of her being a genius.

The Doctor glanced over his shoulder and gave Kibeth a strangely excited grin. "Having an adventure!" he exclaimed before turning his attention back to the room. He gave Armand a wave and stepped into the room with no hint of apprehension or anxiety. "Yeah, well, that's just me. Rude. Rude an not ginger," he grinned, although he qas quite aware that he was the only person who would appreciate the little joke.

He frowned deeply as he drew nearer, his attention absorbed by the young girl lying on the floor, a rash covering her body and her breathing laboured. "I'm just going to check her pulse," he explained, not wanting to make any unexplained moves that might anger the kidnapper. He knelt down next to the girl and produced a stethoscope from his pocket. She was still alive, but it didn't look like she would last long. "Did you say you can help her?" he asked, turning his attention to the young man lying across the kidnappers lap.

"Adventure?" Kibeth said, sounding almost too excited. She wished she still had a tail to wag. This looked like the interesting kind of adventure, with danger and interesting people!

Still, she schooled her expression into one more serious, more fitting the actual situation. There was one girl obviously sick, and the boy didn't look good either. Sadly, without access to Charter magic, she wasn't much use as a healer. Fortunately, the man she'd followed in here seemed to know what he was doing. She edged towards the kidnapper, her senses picking up something very strange from him.

"You, you are... dead?" she asked the kidnapper, unable to contain her curiosity. If he was dead, he was not any type of dead, Lesser or Greater she'd dealt with before. Which was quite interesting indeed.

Two people entered. Armand didn't seem particularly concerned. He watched with curious eyes as they came in and started poking at Violet. Maybe they'd heal her, maybe they wouldn't. He didn't much care either way. As long as he kept the boy on his lap, he was quite fine with whatever happened. A strange effect of the alien blood on his system, he figured. It amused him, though it should have annoyed him. He was acting just as he would if he were drunk, and really, he was.

"You're all being very rude, but I guess I'll be a good influence and start the introductions. I'm Armand, and you two are messing up my kidnapping." He made a tutting noise as he continued to stroke Max's hair, his cheeks, knowing that the boy hated it, and loved it at the same time. This amused him.

"I'm afraid, though, that Max isn't going anywhere." He continued on, as if this was the most normal conversation in the world to be having. But the girl's question had him turning toward her, eyebrow raised. "Dead? Strictly speaking, pretty girl, I am undead. Neither living nor dead." He bared his fang teeth. "A vampire, actually."

Though it hurt to keep them open, Max forced his eyes to remain open and looked imploringly at the pair who entered. The young woman was different somehow. She sensed Armand’s supernatural nature…Max wondered if she sensed his alien abilities. He was relieved when he saw the tall man produce a stethoscope to check the sick girl out; this man seemed like he may be able to help them both.

Max tried to ignore the vampire’s fingers running through his hair when the Doctor asked him his question…

"Did you say you can help her?"

…the alien boy’s dark hazel eyes met the Doctor’s and he promised, “If I’m allowed, I can heal her completely in a few minutes”. He squirmed under Armand’s grasp, wanting to be set free.

If Max got out of here alive, he would need therapy…but who could give therapy to an alien boy when they didn’t understand his bonding abilities? Maybe he just needed to be alone for a long time to sort things out. He needed to understand why, when he had every reason to hate Armand and want to be free…he also, deep down, in a small part of himself, wanted to be bitten again…wanted to bond again…wanted to be held. A tear escaped and ran down Max’s cheek for that part of himself.

“Armand…”, he asked, “…why did you bring us here? Why her? Why me?”. He turned his body as much as he could so his face was half turned towards the vampire’s, “Please let me help the girl, Armand…I’ve seen into your soul. You were human once…there is love inside you…I’ve seen it”.

Violet's kit rolled out from under her as a screwdriver fell out. It was her extra but it would also act as a tiny clue into her nature as a lady of science. Once she came to and was over this reaction she would also need serious therapy to face down the memories that were at the moment racing around inside her mind, mostly of being on the run from Count Olaf. Her soul was in tatters once more and anyone that saw into her would easily see that. But for now she was out cold and hanging tough, she was also a fighter.

"Right, yes, lovely to meet you, Armand!" the Doctor said, the smile on his face suggesting that there was absolutely no sarcasm in his tone. He reached across the young man spread across Armand's lap to offer a handshake. "I'm the Doctor," he explained. His ears pricked up as the woman who had followed him in questioned whether Armand was living or dead, and his smile grew wider as Armand explained that he was a vampire.

"Oh, brilliant!" he exclaimed, although it probably didn't seem all that brilliant to other people. The Doctor had dealt with vampires before; at least now he knew what he was up against, and in his mind that was rather brilliant.

He turned his attention to Max, his expression turning more serious as he explained how he could save the girl in a matter of minutes. He nodded slowly, showing that he understood and then turned his attention back to Armand. "She's alive now, but if we don't do something she won't last long. I don't know why you've kidnapped these two in particular, but I know I can help you. If there's something you want, I can try and get it," he explained, never taking his eyes from the young vampire. "You know the only rule is no killing. Chances are there's no punishment for kidnapping. Why not let him heal her? It'll be better that way in the long run. You're not stupid, you know that. They'll never let you get away with letting her die."

Dead, undead, it was all semantics that didn't really matter in the end. As Armand bared his fangs, Kibeth was halfway to baring her own before she remembered that humans didn't have fangs. Feeling a bit silly she looked towards the poor girl on the floor.

"Letting the boy go to heal her wouldn't be letting him go anywhere, not really" she said, her mind racing. The Doctor had made a good point, they weren't allowed to kill here. The shear thickness of the border between Life and Death attested to that. She wondered then how Armand had managed to make it back though. Or had he been grabbed from another world too? She looked back at Armand, giving him a long searching look.

"I have dealt with many Dead in my time, but you are something new. That is quite interesting. I am Kibeth by the way, and I really do suggest you let the boy heal the girl." She didn't care too much about kidnapping or what have you, not yet. Get the boy away from this strange dead-but-not man, and they could move from there.

He was slightly taken aback by how friendly these two interlopers seemed to be. Idly, he reached out with his mind, first towards the girl. He blinked, and confusion crossed his face. She definately had some interesting things going on in her head. She looked like a girl, but had some thoughts that were more primitive. Like an animal, almost. He looked at her thoughtfully, and then turned his attention to the male.

Here, however, his eyes widened, and he looked innocent, childlike, despite the alien blood staining his lips. He didn't let go of Max, but he did stop petting him, and his grip loosened a little. "You..." He shook his head, trying to clear it, but the euphoric affect of the alien's blood hadn't worn off. "So... much... power..."

It didn't take him long to make up his mind. He nodded firmly, having made an important decision, and looked right at the doctor. "Well, I have no wish to find out of the Planet really could teleport me into the sun, you both have a point there. I'm willing to make a bargain." Hoisting Max up by his shoulders, he smiled at the boy and kissed him full on the lips, letting him taste his own blood. "You..." He lowered the alien and pointed at the Doctor, "Let me taste you, and I let my Max here go." He laughed softly. "For now, anyway. Otherwise, I'll take my chances, and bite him again."

Teeth were again revealed, and he started to bend down, meaning to take more blood. Chances were, Max didn't have a whole lot left to give, or he shouldn't if he was human. He figured he couldn't lose, at this point. Either he'd get to test out the alien's endurance, or he'd get to bite someone that was so incredibly powerful, the concept made his mind swim. Even the worry about what would happen should to the girl and the boy that he'd kidnapped die didn't really register. He felt actually pretty much drunk at this point.

The Doctor seemed to be a very wise man and spoke confidently. Max surmised that this man must be a man of some power too, for he showed no fear of Armand. Even with his quickly healing and regenerating alien physiology, the way this greedy vampire kept drinking from him, he’d be dead soon if the Doctor was unsuccessful in whatever he was attempting.

Max’s hazel eyes still had the light of reason shining in them as he looked to the tall thin man and the young woman with him, “I’m not from Earth, but I was raised there…I have powers, Doctor…one of them is healing”.

He was interrupted by Armand’s tirade about power and then he was forcibly kissed…the vampire’s lips hungrily pressed against his own and he could taste his own blood…It sickened him. Max tried to push him away but didn’t have the strength…the blood tasted sickening and metallic and having another guy force a kiss on him made him queasy. However, when Armand broke the kiss, to his great shame, he felt…a loss.

What?!Max wondered if he heard things correctly. Did Armand actually make a bargain with the Doctor? Would this man let the vampire taste him? Armand’s teeth were poised to strike once more…Max didn’t know which he dreaded more, the coming blood loss or the next bonding…he already knew too much about the vampire Armand.

Violet had somehow dislodged her spare screwdriver from the kit and sent it rolling towards the Doctor. It was like something in her could see another person that understood science. But for now she had no idea what was going on, still out cold from everything so far. But there was one thing Armand had no clue about: Violet Baudelaire was also a fighter.

Once she was healed she would not remember much and would figure she had just hit her head while looking for parts. The missing screwdriver would be the only clue anything had happened. She would just have the rash and a massive headache as clues.

The Doctor flinched slightly as the vampire reached out his mind to him, brushing back with his own mind partially out of instinct but partially as a warning. It was the second time someone had displayed unhesitant psionics with him, and the whole thing made him rather uncomfortable. He had been used to it as a greeting among his own people, but now it felt more threatening that welcoming.

The Doctor raised an eyebrow at Armand's suggestion, feeling strangely... amused by it. It was too easy. The Doctor had been bitten by a vampire before and knew the intoxication power his blood had over the species. The last time he had nearly died, but then there had been a group... this was just the one and he had already been feeding on another. The Doctor knew that he had the strength to survive, and that was really all that mattered. Sometimes a simple negotiation really was all it took.

He didn't want to give away his enthusiasm about the suggestion in case he should be taken for an easy target, so he Doctor looked thoughtful, turning to Max again before giving an answer. "Oh, lovely. I'm not from Earth either, but it is such a delightful planet. I trust you had an enjoyable upbringing?" he asked conversationally.

He stopped Violet's rolling screwdriver with his foot and looked back to Armand. He cleared his throat as if about to declare an answer, but instead he nodded slowly. "Okay. You let him heal her, and let Kibeth here take them back to their rooms... and you can have me in his place," he confirmed.

Kibeth felt the touch on her mind and quickly shifted her thoughts back into the more basic and primal dog-thought of her previous form. If the creature didn't retreat she could always run through Charter marks, counting on the endless stream of marks to drive anyone away out of boredom. But fortunately she felt the touch retreat rather quickly.

She crossed over to the collapsed girl as the Doctor accepted the dead man's offer. She wasn't sure she'd be quite as willing as the strange man was, but if it meant she could get the other two out of here, that would be all to the good. She brushed the girl's hair back from her forehead. The poor child looked to be in great pain, but without the Charter, Kibeth felt rather useless. Hopefully the boy could help, but for now Kibeth contented herself with gently stroking the girl's forehead.

"Deal." He again hoisted up the alien boy and looked into his eyes. "But I'm coming for you again, my love. You haven't even begun to taste what the Vampire Armand has to offer." Once more, he pressed his lips against those of the alien, letting him taste his own blood again, and then he dropped him negligently to the floor, letting him scramble up as he would. They had unfinished business, but the concept of being able to bite this Doctor person was too good to pass up. And he had nothing against the girl, let them heal her, he didn't care.

Eyes glowing slightly, the vampire stood up off the alter, upsetting candles in the process but that didn't matter anymore. He'd failed Dahak, which was fine with him. There would be no sacrifice, but who cared? All that mattered was that Armand would have greater power from this. He did, of course, have an idle thought that he really hoped Lestat didn't succeed, either. The blonde vampire would never let him forget it if Armand failed where Lestat succeeded. But even that was secondary.

While standing, Armand looked even less the part of the super villian kidnapper. His innocent, angelic face had not seemed congruous in the first place, but now that he was standing and walking over towards the Doctor, it was even more odd. He was short, for a male, and slender and boyish. But when his lips drew back from his teeth and he showed his fangs, it was all too clear what sort of being he was.

"Come here, then. I will taste you, Doctor." It felt odd to address him as such, but he didn't have any other name to go off of, so he didn't worry about it too much.

"But I'm coming for you again, my love. You haven't even begun to taste what the Vampire Armand has to offer."

Max’s eyes burned with anger as he replied just low enough for only Armand to hear, “I’ll be waiting”. If the vampire took that as a fond longing, all the better…Max merely warned that he’d be prepared this time.

Unfortunately, the alien boy didn’t have the strength to fight the kiss that was forced on him once again, or the brief bonding that came with it…it whipped through Max’s mind and nervous system so quickly, it made him gasp, as if someone had thrown a bucket of ice water on him. He felt, in that time, Armand’s lust for power and his desire that the Doctor further that power level he desired. He also saw the vampire’s desire to continue their ‘relationship’…and he shivered…then he hit the floor with a jolt.

“Fucker”, Max groaned as he pushed himself up on his arms to look around. He was dizzy from blood loss, but not as much as a normal human would be…he healed quicker. At this point, he was ignoring Armand…the girl was the only important thing. Then he saw her, the pretty Asian woman was next to her…Max crawled over and looked at the woman, “I can heal her”, he told her…then he pulled himself into a sitting position on the opposite side of the girl and placed his hand on her throat. Closing his eyes, Max concentrated and a soft blue glow escaped from around his hand. The rash completely disappeared and the girl’s breathing was even…it was as if she had never eaten that peppermint…Max let out a deep breath and removed his hand…oh, yes, Violet would have a silver handprint on her throat for 24 hours.

Violet's dark eyes fluttered, a clue she was coming out of the hazy state she had been in. All she would figure was she had just hit her head on something and would have to fill in the blanks somehow. Some effects of the allergy like the hazy state would linger for another day or so but now it was like she had not tasted the mint. Once she sees the handprint she'll become curious by her very nature and well once she finds out she might have been a vampire snack bar she may not take things very well...

But the sooner she was out of the spa the better she could start the healing process. Of course little does she know but her screwdriver had rolled out of her kit and had been scooped up.

The Doctor nodded, satisfied with the deal, but watching with an almost critical eye as the vampire kissed the young alien on the lips once more. It didn't matter - he was going to let him go now, and that was what counted most. The Doctor made a mental note to check on the two kidnapees after everything was over, even though it wasn't usually his style. They intrigued him - the alien brought up on Earth, and the young scientist. Just the sorts of people he would like to get to know better, if only the circumstances had been more pleasant.

The Doctor watched as Max moved toward the young victim, and once he was satisfied that they were going to be all right he held up his end of the bargain. He moved awkwardly toward the vampire, his racing hearts betraying his seemingly cool exterior. Flashes of memory reminded him how his last encounter with vampires had left him drained of life, seconds away from death had it not been for a chance encounter with his future self. Still, he knew he could survive this... and even if he didn't, he had the hope that perhaps Ace or Rose would find him in time to give him the strength at least to regenerate. The Doctor faced death almost daily, and it was all worthwhile if it saved the life of even just two innocent victims.

He reached Armand, but he wasn't quite sure what to do once he was close - embrace him? Offer his neck? It all seemed a little too Bram Stoker, so instead he just stood there, determined not to betray his seemingly arrogant confidence. "On you go, then. I'm all yours," he insisted, somehow even managing a small smile of encouragement.

Kibeth moved to help the young girl up, and offered a hand to the boy as well.

"Let's get out of here quickly" she said softly to the two of them, with a quick glance at Armand. The dead man's attention seemed to be on the Doctor, but Kibeth knew better than to trust seeming distraction. Best to get these two safe and then see what she could do about getting the Doctor safe as well. Then she could indulge her curiosity.

A completely incongruous smile bloomed on her face. This planest was so interesting! Every time she thought she knew how it worked, there was something new to discover.

He knew, he could sense, that the boy Max was not pleased about all this. And yet, through the bonding, he couldn't quite discount Armand entirely, despite everything that had happened. Oh, there would be a power struggle between the powerful vampire and the alien boy, of that Armand was sure. In fact, he was really looking forward to it. A challenge... only he hoped Lestat never learned of this, or he would torment him endlessly.

But that was all for later. Max could wait. Actually, it would be better if he did, so that he could build up his blood stores once more. Completely apart from the fact that the planet wouldn't want him to kill the boy, he also had this completely irrational desire not to do so. He didn't understand it, but he was enslaved to this desire nevertheless.

For now, though, the lust for power was consuming him. As the Doctor drew closer, Armand smiled, looking far too innocent for what was about to happen. He stopped in front of him, looking up at him with wide eyes, before he reached up and cradled the back of the other man's neck in his hand. The vampire drew the man's head down, tilted his head to the side, and allowed his lips to draw back from his teeth.

Quickly, like a snake striking, Armand had his fangs buried deep in the man's neck, and he let out a low groan as the blood started to fill him. Even the alien boys blood hadn't been like this. His other arm locked around the waist of the man, holding him against him, flashes of the Doctor's memories and emotions going through him in a sort of sharing that was more intimate than any sexual contact. He knew the same thing was happening to the Doctor, and he let his mind enter the other man's and encouraged this.

The girl was safe. Max sighed a deep sigh of relief and sat back for a moment to gather himself. For the first time in what seemed like forever a smile crossed his face. He saved a life…he saved a life and he was out of the grip of that evil creature. He wanted a shower…a long hot shower. He wanted to wash away Armand…scrub him away…he wished he knew someone who could remove him from his mind…his soul. The vampire had taken the deep intimacy of the bond and raped him with it…he had permanently scarred Max’s soul. A kiss, sex…any bonding will be forever marred by him. Max felt sick as the pretty Asian woman offered her hand.

Feeling just strong enough to stand, Max took her hand and rose to his feet. What met his eyes when he stood drew a gasp from his dry throat, “NO!”. He knew the Doctor had offered himself…his blood, but he looked into the man’s face and their eyes locked…in his weakened state, Max could see it…feel it…a bonding! The Doctor was an alien too…an alien that bonded like he bonded. “NO!”, Max cried again…he couldn’t let another being suffer what he had suffered…he would rather die. This noble man…Max reached for him…

During all this Violet had stumbled out into the hallway with a massive headache from landing onto the floor. She slumped against the wall, not knowing her screwdriver had fell from her kit (now back around her arm) and not knowing what had happened. But the nasty looking bump on her head was the only clue anything had happened.

"Just...confused" sounding shaky but otherwise in one piece.

(possible mild concussion from the landing but now that she's healed no sign of the peppermint reaction)

The Doctor was nervous as Armand pulled at his neck and bared his teeth, but his nervousness hadn't taken all the possibilities into account. Even after it had begun, it took a few moments for what was happening to fully sink in. He hadn't considered the possibility that the feeding could be a sexual thing for Armand, but now there was no denying it.

He felt sick; he longed to fight and pull away, but he'd made a deal with the vampire and he had to live up to his end of the bargain even if it wasn't quite what he expected. After his initial disgust, he felt panic - this bonding was mutual, and there were secrets in the Doctor's head that had to stay there. He flinched, a look of horror crossing his face as he tried to focus on guiding Armand to the memories and emotions he could permit him to see, trying to slam doors on the memories that had to remain unseen.

The physical world seemed to be almost melting away, and despite his disgust and anxiety... there was something drawing him into the vampire. It had been such a long time since anyone had been able to fully bond with him, and he had wondered if it would ever happen again. This thought disgusted him more than anything; was he enjoying the sensation? He squeezed his eyes shut, determined to push the pleasure aside and focus purely on keeping his secrets safe.

He felt Max come close, protesting what was happening with a sort of understanding. The Doctor finally realised why Armand had kept kissing the boy, the experience must have been the same for him. But they needed to get out. "Go, go, it's okay, just go," he managed to whisper out. The experience wouldn't kill him, and it wasn't as if a little extra emotional baggage could make much of a difference anymore.

Kibeth muttered a curse as the girl stumbled and slumped against the wall. She didn't trust how long the agreement to let these two go would last and she wanted them well away from here. She grabbed at the girl's shoulder and pulled her upright.

"Get out of here!" she hissed, trying to convay her own sense of urgency. "Get back to your room where you'll be safe. Quickly!" She gave the girl a gentle shove back down the hallway. Hopefully she'd get the idea.

Kibeth on the other hand went back into the spa only to catch the boy's anguished protest of the Dead's treatment of the Doctor. She crossed the room in a quick two steps and reached for his wrist.

"Come on" she said, keeping her voice low, and interposing herself between him and the vampire. "You're weak right now. Let's get you safe and I'll help the Doctor."

Armand was about to wordlessly smack the alien boy away, but then Kibeth and the Doctor stepped in. Just as well, in Max's weakened state, that might not have gone very well for the boy, and he truly didn't want him hurt. What he did want, though, was the power he'd lacked for so long in his life, and the Doctor was the way to do it. So he let the three others leave without protest.

As his teeth broke the skin and the warm rush of blood filled his mouth, it really did feel like nothing else. Similar in ways to what had happened with Max, and yet slightly different. But again, he could feel the holds of the bond taking him over, and it was almost enough to make him pull away. Almost. Still, the power was undeniable, and soon it was too late for the vampire to even consider anything like that.

Stop hiding things from me... the words carried the weight of a compulsion as the boyish vampire's slender form pressed against the Doctor, locked there by his arm around his waist and of course, his teeth in his neck. Let me see it all... Of course, his own life and undeath would be clear in the Doctor's mind as well, everything from his first sexual experience to walking in the sun and being burned nearly to death, but he prefered not to think of that.

Sliding deep into the Doctor's mind, he used all his powers of persuasion and compulsion to encourage the sexual pleasure, the sense of satisfaction that he knew the Doctor felt deep down about the bonding. He could sense it, but the man kept stubbornly pushing it away. Armand couldn't have that, so he willfully brought it up again to the surface, using all his skill honed over the centuries to bring his victim as much pleasure as he himself was feeling.

"Go, go, it's okay, just go,"

Max was in awe of this man’s courage and nobility and hated himself for his weakness…hated Armand for making him this weak and for daring to lay hands on this man. The alien boy wondered if this man was somehow from his world or a world near his…did others bond like this? If this ‘Doctor’ lived, Max wanted to spend time with him…maybe together they could even find a way to purge Armand from their souls. It would be a travesty to have that fiend surface every time he made love or even kissed.

Now the beautiful Asian woman was in front of him and she had his wrist. She, too, is so very brave. Max looked into her face and gave her a weak smile. He nodded his agreement to go. She and the Doctor have both risked so much for him and the girl and are strangers…the least he could do is not be difficult. “What is your name?”, Max asked her as they left the spa. “Please, you don’t know his strength…he is as strong as 20 men and he can read your mind…he can make you do things to”, he warned her, “How will you get the Doctor…I don’t want you hurt too!”.

Violet had gotten the hint from the older woman as she grabbed her kit (not knowing about the screwdriver falling out). She stumbled down the hall and somehow ended up back outside her room. Violet somehow got the door open and made it inside, locking it behind her (blame a flashback of Count Olaf for that). "Just want to pass out" she finally muses, in the state she was in she did not see the handprint on her throat. But once she hit the matress she was out like a light.

For now she figured she just hit her head while looking for parts. But someone would need to check on her in the next day or so.
