Entry tags:armand, complete, day 17, kibeth, max evans, the doctor, violet baudelaire

Who: Armand, Max, Violet, Doctor, Kibeth (Posting order, if that's cool?)
Where: The spa
When: Early evening
What: Rescue time!
Rating: R, cause of it being Armand and all
Status: Complete

He was just waiting. Waiting for instructions on what to do. He had his victims, and he was ready to do what he was supposed to. Or... mostly. There was only one slight little hitch to that plan. Violet, no problem, he could sacrifice her or whatever was required any second he was asked to. He didn't have anything against her, but he didn't have any particular reason to want to save her, either.

However... the snag was with Max. The teenaged boy was intoxicating. Literally, actually. And Armand found himself unable to stop from occasionally biting the alien, draining a little bit more of his blood each time. The boy was very pale. He was coming close to breaking the rules, to killing. And, somehow, at the same time, he knew he would fight Dahak if necessary to protect the alien boy. An odd sort of dual way of feeling, but Armand didn't worry about that much.

The vampire sat comfortably on the alter he'd set up. He'd been there for hours, unmoving. Max lay draped in his lap, and Armand played softly with his hair. Together, they sat, and waited. Max was conscious, but barely. He would likely be in a delerium induced by lack of blood, and the bond that had so ensnared the vampire. Armand showed no indication of letting him go anytime soon, if ever.

There was the girl there, too, of course. Violet. Such an intruiging, logical little creature. He had spent quite awhile busy with her mind, and knew nearly everything there was to know about her. Suddenly, he spoke. "Come here, little girl." His fingers continued to play gently with the hair of the boy draped in his lap. "Come here, I want to give you a candy."

He reached into his pocket, and knowing full well that she was allergic to peppermint, he pulled one of the candy's out. He'd gotten this just for this purpose. And entering the mind of the child, he compelled her towards him, compelled her to take the candy.

There was very little that got past the Doctor. The moment the lizards had appeared on the planet he'd felt something strange in the air, and it hadn't taken him long at all to notice the curious footprints. On closer examination, he'd narrowed their origin down to an reptile source although not one commonly found on Earth. After finding nothing at all, the Doctor began to doubt himself; perhaps they weren't reptiles but amphibians. With that in mind he'd started to check out all of the watery areas he knew of around the planet.

He'd already covered the outdoors, so it was only as a last resort that he decided to peek into the spa before hading back to the TARDIS for further research. On trying the door he found it locked - perhaps many people would have simply walked away, but giving the Doctor a locked door was like giving a child a cookie they weren't allowed to eat. It was simply irresistible. Plus, he was looking for something that was clearly keen to hide itself, and he wasn't about to let a door stand in his way. Not when he had the ultimate lock-picking device on his person. After glancing up and down the corridor, the Doctor pulled out his sonic screwdriver and started manipulating the lock, the strange electronic sound not quite loud enough to cover the clicking of the locks as the door gave in and creaked open.

Not exactly expecting to find anything, the Doctor popped his head into the room and was unsurprisingly shocked by the strange sight that greeted him.

Kibeth had spent the past few days wandering the resort, mostly trying to avoid people until she had a better idea of what this place was about. She carried a small notebook with her in which she was carefully marking down every new thing she came across. If she was going to write a whole new Charter, it was best to get started.

Normally, she'd have walked right by a locked door, figuring whatever was on the other side could wait until she'd figured out some of the other mysteries of this place. But someone picking a locked door, now that was far more interesting. She crept up behind the lock picker, so as not to disturb him.

"Whatcha doing?" she asked, just as the lock gave and the man pushed the door open. She sucked in a breath as she took in the scene. "Better question" she said, her tone far more serious "What's going on here?"
