Entry tags:armand, complete, day 17, kibeth, max evans, the doctor, violet baudelaire

Who: Armand, Max, Violet, Doctor, Kibeth (Posting order, if that's cool?)
Where: The spa
When: Early evening
What: Rescue time!
Rating: R, cause of it being Armand and all
Status: Complete

He was just waiting. Waiting for instructions on what to do. He had his victims, and he was ready to do what he was supposed to. Or... mostly. There was only one slight little hitch to that plan. Violet, no problem, he could sacrifice her or whatever was required any second he was asked to. He didn't have anything against her, but he didn't have any particular reason to want to save her, either.

However... the snag was with Max. The teenaged boy was intoxicating. Literally, actually. And Armand found himself unable to stop from occasionally biting the alien, draining a little bit more of his blood each time. The boy was very pale. He was coming close to breaking the rules, to killing. And, somehow, at the same time, he knew he would fight Dahak if necessary to protect the alien boy. An odd sort of dual way of feeling, but Armand didn't worry about that much.

The vampire sat comfortably on the alter he'd set up. He'd been there for hours, unmoving. Max lay draped in his lap, and Armand played softly with his hair. Together, they sat, and waited. Max was conscious, but barely. He would likely be in a delerium induced by lack of blood, and the bond that had so ensnared the vampire. Armand showed no indication of letting him go anytime soon, if ever.

There was the girl there, too, of course. Violet. Such an intruiging, logical little creature. He had spent quite awhile busy with her mind, and knew nearly everything there was to know about her. Suddenly, he spoke. "Come here, little girl." His fingers continued to play gently with the hair of the boy draped in his lap. "Come here, I want to give you a candy."

He reached into his pocket, and knowing full well that she was allergic to peppermint, he pulled one of the candy's out. He'd gotten this just for this purpose. And entering the mind of the child, he compelled her towards him, compelled her to take the candy.

The Doctor nodded, satisfied with the deal, but watching with an almost critical eye as the vampire kissed the young alien on the lips once more. It didn't matter - he was going to let him go now, and that was what counted most. The Doctor made a mental note to check on the two kidnapees after everything was over, even though it wasn't usually his style. They intrigued him - the alien brought up on Earth, and the young scientist. Just the sorts of people he would like to get to know better, if only the circumstances had been more pleasant.

The Doctor watched as Max moved toward the young victim, and once he was satisfied that they were going to be all right he held up his end of the bargain. He moved awkwardly toward the vampire, his racing hearts betraying his seemingly cool exterior. Flashes of memory reminded him how his last encounter with vampires had left him drained of life, seconds away from death had it not been for a chance encounter with his future self. Still, he knew he could survive this... and even if he didn't, he had the hope that perhaps Ace or Rose would find him in time to give him the strength at least to regenerate. The Doctor faced death almost daily, and it was all worthwhile if it saved the life of even just two innocent victims.

He reached Armand, but he wasn't quite sure what to do once he was close - embrace him? Offer his neck? It all seemed a little too Bram Stoker, so instead he just stood there, determined not to betray his seemingly arrogant confidence. "On you go, then. I'm all yours," he insisted, somehow even managing a small smile of encouragement.

Kibeth moved to help the young girl up, and offered a hand to the boy as well.

"Let's get out of here quickly" she said softly to the two of them, with a quick glance at Armand. The dead man's attention seemed to be on the Doctor, but Kibeth knew better than to trust seeming distraction. Best to get these two safe and then see what she could do about getting the Doctor safe as well. Then she could indulge her curiosity.

A completely incongruous smile bloomed on her face. This planest was so interesting! Every time she thought she knew how it worked, there was something new to discover.
