Entry tags:armand, complete, day 17, kibeth, max evans, the doctor, violet baudelaire

Who: Armand, Max, Violet, Doctor, Kibeth (Posting order, if that's cool?)
Where: The spa
When: Early evening
What: Rescue time!
Rating: R, cause of it being Armand and all
Status: Complete

He was just waiting. Waiting for instructions on what to do. He had his victims, and he was ready to do what he was supposed to. Or... mostly. There was only one slight little hitch to that plan. Violet, no problem, he could sacrifice her or whatever was required any second he was asked to. He didn't have anything against her, but he didn't have any particular reason to want to save her, either.

However... the snag was with Max. The teenaged boy was intoxicating. Literally, actually. And Armand found himself unable to stop from occasionally biting the alien, draining a little bit more of his blood each time. The boy was very pale. He was coming close to breaking the rules, to killing. And, somehow, at the same time, he knew he would fight Dahak if necessary to protect the alien boy. An odd sort of dual way of feeling, but Armand didn't worry about that much.

The vampire sat comfortably on the alter he'd set up. He'd been there for hours, unmoving. Max lay draped in his lap, and Armand played softly with his hair. Together, they sat, and waited. Max was conscious, but barely. He would likely be in a delerium induced by lack of blood, and the bond that had so ensnared the vampire. Armand showed no indication of letting him go anytime soon, if ever.

There was the girl there, too, of course. Violet. Such an intruiging, logical little creature. He had spent quite awhile busy with her mind, and knew nearly everything there was to know about her. Suddenly, he spoke. "Come here, little girl." His fingers continued to play gently with the hair of the boy draped in his lap. "Come here, I want to give you a candy."

He reached into his pocket, and knowing full well that she was allergic to peppermint, he pulled one of the candy's out. He'd gotten this just for this purpose. And entering the mind of the child, he compelled her towards him, compelled her to take the candy.

"Right, yes, lovely to meet you, Armand!" the Doctor said, the smile on his face suggesting that there was absolutely no sarcasm in his tone. He reached across the young man spread across Armand's lap to offer a handshake. "I'm the Doctor," he explained. His ears pricked up as the woman who had followed him in questioned whether Armand was living or dead, and his smile grew wider as Armand explained that he was a vampire.

"Oh, brilliant!" he exclaimed, although it probably didn't seem all that brilliant to other people. The Doctor had dealt with vampires before; at least now he knew what he was up against, and in his mind that was rather brilliant.

He turned his attention to Max, his expression turning more serious as he explained how he could save the girl in a matter of minutes. He nodded slowly, showing that he understood and then turned his attention back to Armand. "She's alive now, but if we don't do something she won't last long. I don't know why you've kidnapped these two in particular, but I know I can help you. If there's something you want, I can try and get it," he explained, never taking his eyes from the young vampire. "You know the only rule is no killing. Chances are there's no punishment for kidnapping. Why not let him heal her? It'll be better that way in the long run. You're not stupid, you know that. They'll never let you get away with letting her die."

Dead, undead, it was all semantics that didn't really matter in the end. As Armand bared his fangs, Kibeth was halfway to baring her own before she remembered that humans didn't have fangs. Feeling a bit silly she looked towards the poor girl on the floor.

"Letting the boy go to heal her wouldn't be letting him go anywhere, not really" she said, her mind racing. The Doctor had made a good point, they weren't allowed to kill here. The shear thickness of the border between Life and Death attested to that. She wondered then how Armand had managed to make it back though. Or had he been grabbed from another world too? She looked back at Armand, giving him a long searching look.

"I have dealt with many Dead in my time, but you are something new. That is quite interesting. I am Kibeth by the way, and I really do suggest you let the boy heal the girl." She didn't care too much about kidnapping or what have you, not yet. Get the boy away from this strange dead-but-not man, and they could move from there.
