Day 3- Bowling
Who: Giselle, Tyler, Jun, Katara and Christian
What: Bowling
When: Late Morning
Where: Bowling Alley
Rating: TBD
Status: Completed!

Giselle woke with the pleasant thoughts of Legolas in her head. Their impromptu duet the day before had stuck with her even into her dreams. She smiled dreamily as she sat up in bed and went to the balcony doors. She leaned against the side of the balcony and sang with all her heart. When she had finished her seranade of the entire resort, she resumed waking up.

She showered and dressed with the help of her animal friends and went to get some breakfast at the restaurant. When she returned from a satisfying meal of pancakes and fresh fruit, she saw an envelope taped to her door that she had neglected to notice before. She pulled it off and tore it open. Giselle loved getting messages, and she half hoped it was from Legolas.

But it was not to be. Instead it was instructions about a mandatory activity she was to participate in. She had never even heard of bowling. She frowned, but if she was going to be doing it with other people, she was going to have fun, regardless.

She spent the remainder of the morning, before she had to participate in the activity, redecorating her room. Instead of all pink, she concentrated on putting some silvery and purply threads in the comforter on her bed and in the wallpapered walls. She gave herself a grander vanity and a bigger wardrobe.

She was dressed in a flowing yellow dress when she left her room to go to her activity. Her hair was left down, tucked neatly behind her ears. She skipped as she moved down the hall of the main building toward the door leading to the bowling alley. She stepped in and found that she was the first one there.

She went to the desk and the golem there directed her to a lane after handing her some shoes and socks. She grimaced and held the shoes up in front of her face. "Has someone else worn these?" She whispered loudly to the golem. He nodded and she wrinkled her nose. "Do you have any no one else has worn?" He shook his head. She frowned and sighed, heading for the lane she had been directed to.

Sitting down, she pulled off her sandals and proceeded to put the shoes and socks on. She was horrified at having to wear something someone else had worn. Someone she didn't know, too! Sitting back to wait for the others to arrive, Giselle's attention was drawn to a television set high above her head. It had some dancing pins and bowling balls on it before it cleared and some instructions flowed across the screen.

She read them as quickly as she could, trying to understand what she was supposed to do. The video replayed itself when it finished, and Giselle looked down the lane to the pins standing in formation. She screwed up her mouth wondering just how she was supposed to knock all those huge pins down with just one little ball.

Katara’s smile broadened into a grin when she was met with Giselle’s exuberance. The woman had an air of never-ending optimism about her. The waterbender was quite good at seeing the good side of most things, but she had no doubts she could never even match this fiery haired woman with it. “Thank you, Giselle. Such an interesting name. It’s quite pretty, too.” She had never heard a name quite like it before, but she did like it.

She shook her head to Giselle’s question. “No. I had never even heard of- bowling is it?- until a little while ago when I found the summons on my door. It shouldn’t be too hard, but it will take a little getting used to making the ball go straight, I’m certain. How about, if I catch on before you I’ll help you with it. and if you catch on before me could you help me. How does that sound?” It seemed like a good idea to make friends and be as helpful as possible. It would be a shame to ever see Giselle in a state of sadness or frustration. Even as the woman doubted herself verbally she never seemed to quite lose her positive, excited demeanor.

Katara kept her gaze on the instructional video a while longer. She understood the concept, though still was at a loss for the scoring. However, she really wanted to know more about the box with the moving pictures. How was that even possible? Her silvery-sapphire gaze left the box in favor of the attractive man who approached with a greeting. After he introduced himself, and Giselle introduced herself, Katara smiled and said, “I’m Katara.” Her eyes followed his gesture toward the things she realized were called golems from the summons. Despite the obvious power the place held, she was still amazed at the excellent earthbending required to create those creatures. Not all of them were made of earth, though. She had seen one that was made of sturdy wood, but it was dry- she knew because she couldn’t feel the water in it- so she knew it wasn’t waterbending that created it. “It would make sense. I’m sure many could be apt to hiding away in their rooms for a while. I only got here yesterday, and already the Planet decided I had better come here.”

The waterbender femme realized that he wasn’t even worried about the instructional video. Had he even looked at it? It was a bit hard to miss. “Have you played this before?”

Then a boy with green hair walked in. Honestly, this world had no shortage of strange looks for people. Blond hair wasn’t impossible in her home world, but it was very rare. Green hair was nonexistent. However, he had such a familiar and polite way of greeting that she had to smile. At least all things weren’t completely uncommon in differing worlds. Katara stood- before he seated himself- and returned the bow to the one who permitted them to call him Jun. His name was actually one she had heard before. If he hadn’t had green hair and a strange bone structure she might have asked him if he were from her world. “I’m Katara. I just got here yesterday.” This one, like Giselle, seemed to have a natural air of positive outlooks about him.

When the next person arrived and greeted them, Katara nodded to him. Giselle saved her asking what his name was. “I’m Katara.” Wow. The Planet really seemed to enjoy beautiful people roaming its surface when it decided who to pull onto it. This entire room was filled with strange and attractive people. Even Jun with his green hair wasn’t a bad looking guy.

Suddenly the screen changed and all of their names were displayed. This must be the whole group then. Katara’s name looked infinitely strange in the strange lettering of this place, yet she knew which names were which. She realized Max wasn’t here with them and thought perhaps there must be more people on the Planet doing other activities. It would have been nice to see a familiar face, like Giselle and Jun’s recognition of one another, but she wouldn’t complain. These people seemed quite all right, and it couldn’t hurt to get to know them.
