Day 3- Bowling
Who: Giselle, Tyler, Jun, Katara and Christian
What: Bowling
When: Late Morning
Where: Bowling Alley
Rating: TBD
Status: Completed!

Giselle woke with the pleasant thoughts of Legolas in her head. Their impromptu duet the day before had stuck with her even into her dreams. She smiled dreamily as she sat up in bed and went to the balcony doors. She leaned against the side of the balcony and sang with all her heart. When she had finished her seranade of the entire resort, she resumed waking up.

She showered and dressed with the help of her animal friends and went to get some breakfast at the restaurant. When she returned from a satisfying meal of pancakes and fresh fruit, she saw an envelope taped to her door that she had neglected to notice before. She pulled it off and tore it open. Giselle loved getting messages, and she half hoped it was from Legolas.

But it was not to be. Instead it was instructions about a mandatory activity she was to participate in. She had never even heard of bowling. She frowned, but if she was going to be doing it with other people, she was going to have fun, regardless.

She spent the remainder of the morning, before she had to participate in the activity, redecorating her room. Instead of all pink, she concentrated on putting some silvery and purply threads in the comforter on her bed and in the wallpapered walls. She gave herself a grander vanity and a bigger wardrobe.

She was dressed in a flowing yellow dress when she left her room to go to her activity. Her hair was left down, tucked neatly behind her ears. She skipped as she moved down the hall of the main building toward the door leading to the bowling alley. She stepped in and found that she was the first one there.

She went to the desk and the golem there directed her to a lane after handing her some shoes and socks. She grimaced and held the shoes up in front of her face. "Has someone else worn these?" She whispered loudly to the golem. He nodded and she wrinkled her nose. "Do you have any no one else has worn?" He shook his head. She frowned and sighed, heading for the lane she had been directed to.

Sitting down, she pulled off her sandals and proceeded to put the shoes and socks on. She was horrified at having to wear something someone else had worn. Someone she didn't know, too! Sitting back to wait for the others to arrive, Giselle's attention was drawn to a television set high above her head. It had some dancing pins and bowling balls on it before it cleared and some instructions flowed across the screen.

She read them as quickly as she could, trying to understand what she was supposed to do. The video replayed itself when it finished, and Giselle looked down the lane to the pins standing in formation. She screwed up her mouth wondering just how she was supposed to knock all those huge pins down with just one little ball.

Katara smiled at Tyler’s remark to her jest. She had no doubts that he would be good at this game, especially after disclosing that it was a regular ordeal for him growing up- just as waterbending had been for her. The confidence with which he chose his ball and stepped up to the lane did not go unnoticed by the young woman. Silvery-sapphire eyes studied his form closely, watching every movement he made until passing her attention to the ball as it rolled toward the pins. A grin lit her lips as it slashed right through the center pin, believing that was how all the pins would go down in one try. However, she quickly saw that two pins remained standing, and hitting the center pin wasn’t the best option. She hypothesized that, because of the way the pins fell when the ball impacted, hitting the side of the center pin- instead of dead on- was the real way to go about it. There was only a couple ways to figure it out: a)she tried herself, or b)someone else managed to do it. Being the competitive spirit she was, and also really wanting to try this theory on her own, she didn’t say anything. If she failed she would let the others know, so they could attempt it if they liked.

After Tyler managed to hit one last pin, Katara couldn’t help but overhear his dismay. She was unfamiliar with the word itself, but she knew by his tone he was displeased. The waterbender almost laughed. He had more experience than any of them and he was upset because he left one pin standing where they left several? Then again, the girl couldn’t blame him. She became rather frustrated with herself if her waterbending was off-beat, so to speak. She couldn’t hold the grudge against him, nor would she dream of it.

Katara’s eyes widened in utter shock as Jun stepped up next and the ball soared through the air. Her slender figure jerked in surprise as it crashed into the wall and stuck into place. So green hair wasn’t the only thing strange about him. His muscled looked far too small to wield such power, but her best friends had been small and thin and were some of the greatest benders in the world, if not the best. When he turned around the embarrassment was clear on his features. “It’s all right, Jun. Just try to toss it a bit softer, and a bit lower on your next try. I’m sure you’ll do great.” She spoke soothingly and encouragingly as he chose a new ball. She wondered if the planet would transform the scenery like it did rooms so the ball no longer appeared there, but after a while she realized it wouldn’t- at least not yet.

As Christian stood to take his turn he seemed mildly uncomfortable at the optical attention he received. Not one to be rude, Katara looked away until he lined up the ball to throw it. She watched his form, too. So far most of them seemed to take Tyler’s lead by way of stance, even if theirs seemed a bit sloppy in comparison. It would be foolish not to, though, after he knocked down so many pins. He was clearly better than they.

Suddenly it was Giselle’s turn again. It seemed to be a fairly swift pace at which they played. That was nice. It made sure no one waited too long. Remembering her deal with the flame haired woman she watched her closely. It wasn’t that Katara was already a master at bowling or anything, but she had become a master in other areas by way of observation of others’ stances and she thought maybe she had gotten it a little bit better than the other woman. She winced inwardly as her first try went into the gutter, but clapped when she knocked down four. “Great job, Giselle!”

When she sat down, and Katara stood she turned toward Giselle. “Try to keep your wrist firmer. It’ll help you make sure the ball goes where you want it. I may not do it much better, but you can watch me when I try to get a bit of a handle on it, and definitely watch Tyler.” With a half-grin the waterbender lifted her ball and sunk her fingers into the holes.
