Tch. [He had been looking around the firing range for some time now, and just confirmed his suspicions. Not that he expected there to be weapons there -- even locked up and guarded by sentinels or something -- but there wasn't even the smell of gunpowder hanging in the air that he was used to. With a bit of a smirk, said to the empty room.] Figures. Doesn't seem that anyone even uses this place that much.

[Lockon didn't know what to tell Sakura. He had only met Ashton once, and didn't really know him all that well. Lacus seemed to have the better handle on the situation, on the whole, so he was fine with just cleaning the kitchen while the girls sat in the dining room in Lacus' new home.

But he couldn't help but overhear, just a little...]

[Lockon does, too, since he had been asking so many questions of others on the Defense Force, and yet it was Conrad who first talked to him about it.

What brings you here? [Of all people, Conrad definitely did not look the gun-toting type.]

That's a shame. [Conrad doesn't want to push the defense force, though that does spring to mind as the best way to get hold of a gun.]

[Except...] Would you like to practice sometime? I happen to have a small gun, though it usually just sits in my room.

[For a brief moment he considered not offering, not knowing Lock-- Neil very well yet, but it was rather common knowledge that he was close to Miss Lacus, who was nothing if not trustworthy.]

Mm, it is. [It was a thought -- especially since last night -- but he just isn't sure if he's ready to be put into that position.

Something like eagerness lights up his face for a moment, but he stops himself, the expression replaced with one of faint amusement.] I thought you said you didn't shoot? ...besides, don't you have to check me out, first? [Not that he hadn't gotten the idea of getting around that rule, thanks to Kitty, but he'd still rather be sure. He doesn't want to rock the boat.]

[Smiling, because yes he considered the idea.] It's not the Defense Force's weapon; it's mine. Or rather, it belonged to the friend who used to come here. I haven't any use for it, and so it's yours if you want it. I have plenty of ammunition.

[Smile veering toward amused, now.] As for checking into your background, if you do anything untoward with it I'm sure Miss Lacus will request an explanation. [Which is more of a threat than any that Conrad can possibly contemplate.] That's enough for me.

Well, if it won't get you into any trouble... [Still considering his options, as tempting as the offer was.

At that last bit, he rubbed his neck a little, chuckling.] Ah, you'd be quite right. [After a beat.] I guess if you're so sure. I'd certainly feel safer, especially if we have another repeat of last night. I was out with Lacus, and if we'd been attacked coming home... [He frowns, shaking the thought from his head.]

	It won't. My sword didn't come from the defense team, either. It was made by a friend -- the same one who made the gun for me as a gift for Vash. 	I haven't asked how he made it, but it seems to work. [Gesturing in the direction of the shelter and starting to walk.] [And now waving off any concern about how Neil would treat it.] I'm sure you'll do what you feel is right with it.
