Welcome to the MarinaNova HMD! This is optional, but encouraged.

• List your characters for which you'd like feedback. We have a form below if you like forms!

• Leave your tactful and considered thoughts, questions, concerns, praise, suggestions, etc. for others.

We strongly encourage you to make this a dialogue. Find out what went into actions, decisions, and characterization and you may come to understand it better. Hopefully, you'll also be in the best position to clearly communicate your own concerns. Results will be more satisfactory for everyone if one person isn't on the offensive while the other is on the defensive.

Avoid leaving someone a wall of text. This can be intimidating even with the most careful of wording and best of intentions.

Don't gang up on someone. You may have a different way of wording something, but unless you have something new to contribute, consider letting it go if there are already others saying it.

Be constructive and considerate.

• Since there is no plotting meme during months with an HMD, please feel free to do that here too.

• Contact a mod if you have any problems.

We can't promise everything will be handled or altered to your liking, but we do promise to give everything serious consideration.

comments: I'm aware I haven't been around much the past few months and tagging even less than that due to grad school and work. I've been making an effort to get back into the swing of things. I've finally started to even out my workload and roleplaying time. So, yay! If you want to continue any CR with me that's fallen by the wayside or start any up, please let me know.

A little about Elena at the moment, also for any potential plotty reasons: she's learning how to be a baby vampire and how to control that with plenty of bumps in the road and hopefully more to come too. She could use some practice feeding directly from a human, so if anyone's up for that with their character(s)... Her love life is... complicated between her feelings for Damon Salvatore and Sam Winchester and will most likely continue to be. She attends lots of classes, including Criminology and Paranormal Studies. She's on the cheerleading squad. *\o/* She lives with her best friend Bonnie Bennett.

If anyone has any criticisms, suggestions, ideas, or anything, please let me know. I know I've been absent/rusty.

Every time I read threads she's in, I'm really impressed with her.

I might stalk your threads a lot. I've never seen Doctor Who but I've been taught about the loveliness and bad-assery of Martha through tumblr and have always been interested in her. You've been kind of my way to explore that interest. She is clearly an awesome character and I'm glad to know her through you. You seem to have a great understanding for her.

ALSO MAL OH MY GOSH. I have seen Firefly and I hear his voice so well in your tags.

Elena should meet all of yours. I don't know anything about Sarah, but Elena's generally easy to get along with so we should put them together and see what happens? Maybe after time and playing her more you'll feel more confident of her voice?

OMG Seriously? That's way flattering. Thanks so much! She's by far my favorite character of just about any t.v. series ever.

And thanks. Mal gives me a lot of trouble usually, but the advantage is canon reviews are easy for him. It's either a weekend or my day off work with about five key episodes.

And I suspect that's right. She's fairly easy to canon review as well, but like I said, what we see of her in canon doesn't really prep her for life in prison with real people... So it's definitely new and exciting.

And yes, Elena needs to meet everyone!

Comments: I'm still having difficulties with her. It's a combination of horrible timing and a lot of loss issues all at once. I have a post idea planned for her to hopefully jumpstart her and get her back to normal, but if this month doesn't work out, I'll let her go.

Comments: Hahaha why did I ever think playing a counselor was a good idea. I'm trying this whole thing out and hoping she works with that. I'm not a counselor myself, so I'm not the best at that whole thing, but I'm willing to handwave or play out counselor CR with anyone, so that's always an option. I'm still working the kinks out with her, though, so any concrit is welcome. I'm forever shy with my Trek muses and Deanna is one I'm still very new with. I'm trying to work with the issues she was given in Nemesis, what Shinzon did with her, and I would really love an opportunity for her to get close enough to someone (other than her amazing husband who was there for the whole thing) to maybe talk about it.


Basically, I know last month was awful for my activity because life kinda kicked me in the face. I'm hoping that April will be better.

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with Helen. I feel like we've kept trying to get CR going but I've been admittedly awful about replying to tags. I'll definitely hit that post up with Elena! Also, maybe this might help, if you're interested? I have to check with Amy too, but Elena feels like Helen is the person to go to, at the clinic. She can find out Elena's a vampire finally.

Also, I'm so entirely interested in any Deanna and Elena CR considering if anyone needs counseling, it's Elena. She probably wouldn't be willing at first, but after some time and getting to know Deanna, she'd open up. I think you're doing a great job with the counselor stuff though. I'm not one myself but I have been reading your threads. :)

Ooo yes! I would be absolutely interested in that :) I think I've mentioned it before but Helen has helped another vampire when he "turned" so to speak (it's more complicated in Sanctuary canon and Nikola's only half-vampire, but it's fairly similar in practice), so she would absolutely be willing to help Elena deal with that.

Yes! And thank you! I'm trying to draw on what I remember her doing and saying in canon with what I know and do (since I'm very much the type to help), but I'm not like trained in this sort of thing, so it's kind of a balancing act that I'm still working the kinks from. But that makes me feel better about it :) I would absolutely be up for Deanna and Elena getting to know each other and talking. We'd probably also have to work out whether or not Deanna would be able to pick up emotions from TVD vampires since I don't think there's anything similar in TNG canon that Deanna's run across. (I'm more inclined to say no for a variety of reasons and that would definitely make Deanna more interested in finding out more about Elena if they ever meet in person.)

Comments: Lesseeee. Some brief info! In February I was super inactive but dropping down to one dude helped with that issue. As for IC stuff, Sougo naturally keeps to himself but he's been doing more of that lately because he is no good with changes, the changes being that he's still depressed over Lacus being gone + Euphie — someone he hasn't built a level of comfort with (yet??) — moving in. This stuff is a pretty huge deal to him so he keeps pretty quiet and only comes out to be a huge trolling jerk to others because that's how this sadist deal with his sads. I forgot where I was going with this... so to conclude (or go in a different direction completely haha) I'm always open to crit because it is important to me to improve my writing and do fun things whatnot!

Comments: Damon is currently managing the Vampire Blood Shack in Sector 5. He's put on his big boy pants. It's quite the achievement considering he hasn't worked a day in his life since 1864... I really would love to have Damon build solid relationships with people outside of his canon and I need to work on tagging out more as well as posting more often in the comm. I tend to get dumb shy about making open posts, but it's a work in progress. Feel free to leave positive/negative feedback. Constructive criticism appreciated. BUT ENOUGH ABOUT ME -

I'm definitely interested in stalking Damon's relationships outside of his canon and I have noticed he's been doing that! I think him taking over the Blood Shack is a good move for what you want for him and also well-timed with everything that's happened. And you know if you ever make an open post, I'm there with Elena and her buttonfais.

Comments: I'm just going to do general comments because what I have to say applies to all my guys across the board. Incoming tl;dr, sorry.

So, for the past few months I've been struggling horribly with my tagging motivation and overall RP drive. Part of this, no doubt, is due to the fact that I took essentially two back-to-back vacations in February and March, so I didn't really get caught up from one before the other and then things snowballed until I felt hopelessly lost. Part of it is also because another game I've been in for ages closed at the end of February, and that grievously wounded my RP drive all on its own. So right now I'm at the point where I feel like I've missed out on so much that I have no idea where to jump back in.

Let me qualify all that by saying that I have no intention of leaving the game right now, with any of my characters. I absolutely love playing here and I want to hang in there. What I might do, is write March off as a loss if I have to, and simply focus on building some new things going forward. So this is where I say that I'm very open to plotting, new CR, old CR - I'm really genuinely open to anything, so if there is anything at all you would like to do, please hit me up!

And, of course, all comments and questions are absolutely welcomed.

1) I love your Data always and forever and would probably love your others if I knew their canons.

2) Writing March off might help with the stress levels and worry. I'm thinking of doing the same myself, especially with Helen and her grumpiness re: loss issues. Maybe we can still have bonding times with my girls and Data, especially re: Picard for Helen and re: feelings and things for Deanna.

So fun story. Over a year ago, a game that I loved closed down very suddenly. My characters were all in really interesting cases with really good CR that was suddenly ripped away and I was devastated. I tried to keep playing, but my interest in games was fast gone. Another game fizzled to a premature close half a month later and I quit RP because it was stupid.

A few months after quitting, I started itching to play again. But I thought no. I was spending less time on the internet, it was good for me to not be so focused on the gaming. Well, my resolve broke and here I am.

What I'm trying to say is, there is nothing wrong with taking a bit of mental restock time. It happens to the best of us.

That being said, I think Data is amazing and I want him to meet everyone. I guess he's met Martha already, but Sarah won't know what to do with him because... robot... and Mal will freak out because he's Mal.

I do love how you've taken someone like Number One and turned her into such an interesting character. I'd love more with her and Helen or Deanna if you need something to do with her. I think either of them would work well with her and she has the added bonus of Locutus stuff with Helen. So there's definitely potential there. :)

Comments: Nico came from a bad place in canon, and I feel like he's one step ahead of a complete meltdown. I think I've made him a little more social than he's supposed to be, otherwise he'd spend all his time hiding or disappearing from conversations the moment they turned a little personal. Comments: I still feel very new here and Nathan is very much a character I haven't completely sussed out (you'd think it'd be easy to figure a one-episode character out, wouldn't you?), so let me know if you see any glaring inaccuracies, find something odd, or just want to know why something went down the way it did. I'm trying to find out what's wrong with him myself; until then, I apologize for any inconsistencies.

THAT SAID, I haven't done nearly enough tagging out because Nathan isn't that social and my RP drive nosedived immediately after I picked him up. If you have a character who you think might be fun to play off of a bored and somewhat depressed fifteen year-old with intrusive thoughts about stabbing people, let me know! He's getting better at not out and telling folks that he's crazy, so here's hoping that some new and exciting CR can happen. I'm completely open to plotting or what-have-you, I'm just a bit shy and slow to initiate things myself.

I'd like for him and Reid to talk again soon now that he's calmed down a bit, aaaand I think it'd be neat to see how he'd do with Spike what with him being a soulless killer and all that.
