Truth be told, Spike would've been just a tad disappointed if he didn't cross paths with Jack today. Not that he'd show it, of course, instead opting for casually leaning against the counter, dressed very much in what he usually wore. Jeans, black tee, no bra which wasn't a huge problem because he also hadn't been gifted with, uh. Huge anythings.

Tch. Should've betted some money on you enjoying yourself today.

He snorts, wouldn't be too surprised if that was Ianto's plan all along. He sure seemed reluctant to let him go this morning and if Spike hadn't been adamant about going about his day as normal, he'd probably still be in bed.

"About the same." He shrugs. "Don't feel much different, can't really see what I look like."

And he has such a strong hold on his identity at this point, spending a day as a girl is nothing compared to being a snake. Besides, this morning was a really good start to what could've and probably should've been a lot weirder.

Jack missed out the snake episode somehow ~~(presumably because his mun was too busy)~~ so he's comparing this less to that and more to his own body-swapping experiences with Reid and with Spike himself.

And his earlier very interesting encounter with a very nude Kirk on the beach.

"Mmm, it's weird, you still look like you, just... female. Different from having actually switched with someone else, I guess. And you're incredibly pretty as a guy anyway, so I guess it's not such a huge step for you as for some!" He grins. "Still got the killer cheekbones!" Even if they're a little rounder with this face.

So much shit happens here in a relatively short period of time, Spike's starting to find it difficult to be freaked out about anything that isn't actively life or sanity threatening. Boobs do not fall into either of those categories and the responses he's been getting to all this have been very confidence boosting. Who can be sad on a day like this?

"So people keep telling me." He smirks. Ianto made a bigger deal about the sudden revelation that Spike doesn't fully know what he looks like anymore, but he doesn't really care.

"Want a drink?"

He chuckles at the typically Spike response, and actually thinks for a moment about the offer of a drink. He feels like he's spent a lot of time lately more than a little drunk, even if most of it was imagined for him by the AIs, and he feels less inclined to partake of alcohol than he normally would.

"Just coffee, thanks," he replies, hitching a hip onto a bar stool and settling in. "I kind of wanted to talk to you. Although I might find myself getting distracted now!"

If he wasn't dead, Spike could probably do with looking over his own alcohol habits. Can you be an alcoholic if you're a corpse? He always figured that was a bit of a get out of jail card, too late to repent and all that. He shrugs nonetheless, moves to pour Jack a cup. The coffee at the Shack has steadily gotten better, for the record. Ianto may have had something to do with that.

"Keep your hands to yourself and I'm sure you'll be just fine." For now, at least. He'd be disappointed if they didn't make use of this all the way.

"What's up?"

Jack will be appreciative of the improved coffee. Though, frankly, given how much time Spike's spending with Ianto he'd be disappointed if it hadn't improved!

He gives Spike an amused look at the comment. "Fair enough - as long as I get to touch later! After all, isn't the whole point of our blue bands that you're one of the two people I can touch!"

And then he shrugs a little. "I just wanted to check in with you, really, after everything that's happened. And, you know... thank you for helping me and Ianto sort things out."

He leans against the counter with a crooked smile, arms folded under his chest. As much as he tries to play it cool, it's genuinely nice to hear that what he said had some impact, that it helped at all. He knew it would, of course, but getting feedback is always welcome.

"Isn't that the whole point of our blue bands? To be a team?"

Their different outlooks on this seem to work in their favor for once. Sex and emotions working together is the best way to go about anything, as it turns out.

"I'm glad to hear it's working out."

He gives a slow, wry smile of acknowlegement to that one. "I guess so. I just... I'm not sure we really are a team, yet. It feels like there's you and Ianto, and there's me and Ianto - some of the time, at least - and then I'm still not really sure where you and I fit into that. Or all three of us together. I mean, yeah, that one time we all got together was fantastic, but..."

He shrugs. "I guess I should just be happy I seem to have worked things out with Ianto, eh, and not worry about the rest of it just yet!"

You can't really blame him, Spike. He's just been through about as major a shift in self-knowledge as you can get, and it's going to be a while before he really accepts he's doing all right with it!

He appreciates the understanding look, though, and the comforting words, and does relax for now. "Thank god! I mean, I thought it was going okay, but it's a bit hard to believe after all that upset. And having Mistletoe Day at the same time really didn't help!"

"I know. I think that day definitely showed me that. It's just that since the physical communication comes so much more naturally to me, it really is the talking I need to concentrate on so that it is balanced, you know?"

He toasts Spike's beer with his coffee and takes another sip. "Did you enjoy what I did to his ass that day?"

Because he's kind of been dying to ask!

"Presents, huh, is that how you see them?" he asks, amused, partly because - yeah - hypocritical and partly because they are presents in a way. Even if the spanking, less than the bite marks and bruises, was far more about connecting with Ianto and giving him what he wanted than leaving marks for Spike to find and enjoy, it definitely added an extra dimension knowing that Spike would find them, and enjoy them.

"I have to admit, it wasn't quite what I expected to end up doing with him that day, but it seemed to do the trick!"

Surely he deserves a pass today. Extraordinary circumstances and all that, not every day you wake up as a woman and as cool as he's been about this, there are some things he can't deny. Some sensations are brand new, nerves rerouted into unfamiliar patterns. Of course he thinks about sex a lot today!
