No, they are quite content to enjoy observing the other animals in the shop. They tend to find all the color and movement very exciting.

I'd like that. I try to stop by once in a while to hang out with them but it's gettin' harder and harder to not just bring 'em home.

As I understand it this is all a digital construct and they are not real dogs so I am sure they will not be too unhappy. I doubt it is in their programming.

Perhaps. I like to think so, or that if they are programs they are capable of developing more complex emotions but I am not sure if hat is true.

Yeah, we have some of those robots back home too... but they're not as nice. I mean, it ain't like I spent a lot of time with 'em but they seemed more machine-like.

That seems to be the same here. The robots who work in this place are just tools. They have no sense of self. It makes me very sad sometimes.

I find it doubtful. I was always designed with the ability to develop and subconscious and sense of self. It was critical for my abilities. The development of my emotions was unexpected but perhaps it should not have been. I do not believe the robots here possess those first criteria. And in any case they are no more real than the dogs.

[Scratch scratch scratch.] If they are it is a much more advanced sort of robot than I am. They are capable of thoughts and feelings. They tell jokes and have opinions. To me they seem much more human.
