[ There is Suzaku. There is Suzaku with his eyes as though carved from stone.

He opens his mouth to say that Euphie is no longer in the Dome, which means that she is gone back to her death and what comes out? ]

How oft when men are at the point of death
Have they been merry! which their keepers call
A lightning before death: O, how may I
Call this a lightning? Euphie! Gone! ... for good...

[ ... Two bright blotches appear on Suzaku's cheeks because WHAT IS THIS EVEN and how can any of it be said to be for good, and he cuts the transmission. ]

[ Aidan only barely understands enough of the poem to get what's happened and he can't help but feel... well, devastated. Euphie was always there and now there's one more person gone who's been there longer than him. Euphie's been there through everything, she knew Helix and Sougo and she knew everything that was important and now she isn't here. ]

She's really gone, huh?
I guess I should've seen it.
I'm really sorry.

[ Suzaku's eyes widen a little. Haiku... is a form of poetry that has been practically outlawed since he was a child. Since Britannia conquered his land.

He bows his head, closing his eyes. ]

Today, words lead the lonely heart astray.
Tomorrow, mayhaps e'en anon, talk we may?

[ Today, any attempt to help will be pretty much useless. But Suzaku knows that Aidan means-- meant a lot to Euphie, and if he can help in any way, he will try. ]

[ Yeah, he doesn't get most of that and it doesn't help that he and Suzaku somehow haven't talked. Well, barely. That was definitely one of the reasons why he moved out — Euphie had her family back, her real family, and he didn't know the first thing about them. ]

of yourself and him.
