[She's less afraid of that right now than she has been. There's been a lot of fear in the past couple of months for a girl who had been fearless for so long. Still, she is happy to hold on as long as he wants. She rests her head on his shoulder almost like they're just slow dancing instead of hugging.]

I'm going to the superhero party tomorrow. This is a very strange place.

Funny you should ask. I told Carl I probably wouldn't dress up and then he told me I'd be going as myself. It sounded really profound at the time. It's not weird if I get my wisdom from pre-teens, right? [He may be a young teen. She hasn't asked or counted his rings or anything.]

[She shifts and actually does kiss him softly and and on his temple—a sign of love and tenderness, but not passion. Not that the passion has gone anywhere, but she doesn't think either of them are ready for something like that right now. It's a day for coming together and seeing how much they were loved at home.]

I might be the most optimistic person who ever lived through Apocalypse [the event, the guy, whatever] for saying this, but I think sometimes things can still go right.
