[There's no fanfare today. The museum has something about the benefits of sheep's wool. There are no decorations up. The clothing shops have the same sort of stock they had yesterday. And there are no specialized dishes at the restaurants, but you can probably find a power bar at the convenience store, but there's nothing new there.

What is new is whatever power you woke up with or without today. What you do with that is up to you and whomever you encounter.]

[Kitty was in Sector 2... but now she was in Sector 5... and two seconds later, she was in Sector 0. Each time she disappeared and reappeared, people nearby could hear a 'bamf' sound, and might catch the whiff of sulfur. She could be found anywhere except Sector 6.

However, if your character didn't speak English, she might not be able to understand you. Her punishment for helping in last night's hacking attempt was that her communicate wouldn't translate for her. Others could understand her, she just couldn't understand them.]

[Chekov is walking around in Sector 4, eyes closed, testing his newly-gained sonar powers. Being able to see your surroundings is only cool when you can't actually see, after all. When he runs into Kitty, he naturally assumes that he is at fault because he didn't see her coming.

Because he has grown accustomed to having translators around, he apologies in rapid-fire Russian.]

[Apparently, he was confused, too? Kitty had never realized before just how many people didn't speak English around here. Her face lit up, though, almost looking a bit startled, when he switched to English. It was heavily accented, but she could understand it a lot better.

She smiled, shaking her head a little.]

Oh, I'm fine. I thought I startled you. Apparently, today, I can teleport.

I was startled, yes. I did not hear you coming... but if you were teleporting, perhaps there was nothing to hear.

May I assume that today is the first time you have been able to teleport?

It is. My friend back home can teleport like this. I usually can just phase through things.

[She tilted her head a little.]

Your first language isn't English, is it?

[With the translators, it was hard to hear people's accents, especially when they could comfortably speak in their native tongues. However, this was quite different.]

I'm familiar with this situation. Although I have not met myself from an alternate reality, I have known a number of people who are from a universe that was the same as my own up to a specific historical divergence. Do you find speaking with the other Kitty unsettling?

I was with Tieria. I disabled one of the bots for him by shorting it out with my phasing power, and then the two of us hacked into the system through the bot.

[She shrugged.]

It's a little weird asking people if they know English and asking them to switch if they accidentally go back to their native language, but I can deal. Plus, it's only one day.

	Yeah. I've been lucky about that language thing so far. [She shrugged a little.] We're not entirely sure, to be honest. It looked successful, but then no one's heard from the person in question, yet, today.
