Day 296 — VR MarinaNova — After the doors close
[Maybe you saw a glowing door open and avoided it or maybe you have no idea anything just happened, but you know something is up now because everything just went dark. Seriously dark. No ambient light of any kind. The kind of dark that makes you wonder if something's wrong with your eyes. Oh, and there's a siren going off from the speakers on the floating island. Don't worry, that will end in about thirty minutes, but you're not so lucky when it comes to the dark.

The kiosk was open earlier, but it's gone dead now and the maintenance bots are in the same condition. As a bonus some people are missing too! Welcome to Day 296.]

After Percy had knocked the Titan Iapetus into the River Lethe and wiped away his memories during a fight, Nico had taken their former enemy to his father's palace, where he was made a servant. He visited the newly dubbed Bob often. It didn't feel right to abandon the Titan just because the threat was gone.

He breaks away first, shaken.]

There's all sorts where I'm from. I don't know anything about vampires.

Oh, and his rehab points did go toward acquiring the soul. Maybe a little more involved. Whatever.]

And I wasn't really inclined to seek out your side of the story after you tried to eat me. Even if I did, it's not like I could have changed anyone's mind. I mean, even if your soul said it didn't want to be returned to you, they were going to do it anyway. I asked.

Like anything else. A stake would've been preferable and before you ask, I'm not looking to off myself. [ Had this conversation one time too many. ]

I've no doubt the bozos running the show here had only the best in mind, but... that's not how this works. Back home, only one other vampire got his soul back. He was cursed. It was meant as a punishment, bloody torture by design but no one 'round here seem to understand that.

Humans... they roll their eyes and say boo-hoo for you, you got a soul just like the rest of us. Too bad. Thing is, I'm still stuck with something they lack... sure would love to see how quick they'd change their tune if they got a taste of what I'm feeling every second of the day.

What do you expect? They're human. Humans are selfish. Before you had a soul, you were their problem. They gave you a soul, they fixed that, so now you're not their problem any more. The demon thing, that's your problem. They don't care anymore. [That's what people do. They forget about you, until they need you or you become a problem again.]
