Day 296 — VR MarinaNova — After the doors close
[Maybe you saw a glowing door open and avoided it or maybe you have no idea anything just happened, but you know something is up now because everything just went dark. Seriously dark. No ambient light of any kind. The kind of dark that makes you wonder if something's wrong with your eyes. Oh, and there's a siren going off from the speakers on the floating island. Don't worry, that will end in about thirty minutes, but you're not so lucky when it comes to the dark.

The kiosk was open earlier, but it's gone dead now and the maintenance bots are in the same condition. As a bonus some people are missing too! Welcome to Day 296.]

Her hands have taken her at least a bit around the block, finding stray structures of various materials along the way. For the moment she is clutching something metallic.] I'm here! [She doesn't really recognize the voice, but it's enough that there is a voice to try to recognize at all. Euphie smiles hopefully in the dark.] Over here! I found a wall. [It sounds like such a silly thing to say, but somehow being caught in the dark in the middle of the room had been very alarming with no points of contact with anything but the floor.]

[The voice that she is hearing is thick with a Welsh accent. Gwen looks around for one second, before wanting to smack her head into the metallic something she's holding with the futility of it.]

What do you think is going on?! I've heard about trying to save up on the light bill but they could at least be as kind as to give us a lamppost or two left. I think we should file an official complaint about this. Maybe two! Sign a list or something. If we can ever find a pencil again. Or see signatures. That could be a good thing. I'm really just talking right now because I'm scared out of my wits and I'll try really hard not to punch you out of fear when you reach me!

Her accent might sound a little confused between something American or something English, but not strongly of anything—the sort of voice heard in the media.]

Ah... Not punching me would be greatly appreciated. [That got her to pause for a moment, but she starts shuffling her way toward the voice again.] This isn't the first time this has happened. It's very likely everything will be running smoothly again in the morning. And I haven't heard anything dangerous nearby. [In other blackouts at times where were raptors or other creatures.]

But like this, in the dark, it feels very much like the voice is GAINING on her, like there is harm to be found within it and Gwen steels herself, closing her eyes. It doesn't make any different, but like this she has at least chosen the darkness.]

But where are all the.. You know.. Guard people? When has this happened before?

	They are in some sectors more heavily than others, but I've also seen them shut down in times like this. Perhaps that's the case again. (Reply to this) (Parent)
